Marc, genuinely thank you, I've been struggling with stiffness of characters for quiet awhile, trying to learn gesture drawings and force some fluidity, yet it would not do much. This is by far the best breakdown of things needed to be taken into an account, allowing proper understanding and comprehension of what needs to be thought of, this is the first time I am genuinely grateful for a video existing, THANK YOU!!!
Despite practicing anatomy for almost 2 years now I'm trying to do something outside my comfort zone:" I really want to draw great pictures with a good storytelling through the characters dynamic
Hi Marc. I wanna say right now…. I didn’t know your school is roughly two years worth. I am not upset, I’m amazed by how much you are willing to teach us to become professional and capable artists. I got the course but imma start it at the beginning of next year for I have many obligations right now as well as RUclips projects that need attention. It’s not started yet but once I do, I wanna also post my progress but not reveal anything that people would ignore you. Quite the opposite, I hope by sharing my own journey, people will come to you for more lessons and even participate in your growing community. Anyways, I am excited and I am already planning stuff that will allow me to have time for each lesson. You know what they say. Love the life you want instead of dreaming it for that will never come true. You have to make it come true.
I love the accuracy of these poses. Excellent understanding of anatomy. I'm working on multiple art projects, as well as comics. I'm also teaching an art class as a hobby, and specifically, I'm starting human anatomy, but the basics of figure drawings with male and female. my second class was shapes and the fundamentals of shading, so that the students could understand the subtlety of symmetry, perspective, and volumes. I'm self taught so the greatest challenge is communicating what I know to a class with varying degrees of understanding on the rudiments
How I understand it: The head(2x2 box, that’s 2 or 3 blocks high(stylization)) The details are all about proportion(eyes being the second line up, ears being near the line on the side, etc) and making sure to follow it in perspective
This channel is the only channel where I do not skip even a second of the video . I mean I genuinely enjoy the overall quality, the editing, crisp voice recording and ofcourse the content. Loved this video as usual. You have taught me A LOT sensei. 🫶
Hello, could you be able to go over how to create characters based on and express their personality and also how to draw live like character reactions and their poses, just like facial or exaggerated facial expressions?
Funny how (for me) the higher you go into the list, the easier it is. Because I struggle a ton on proportion so tweaking poses like that without perspective or foreshortening is incredibly difficult (then again, for me)
Do you have any tips on why my foreshortening often just looks like a small or big limb? I can't tell if I just stare at it too long or it's wrong. I try to make the change gradual but it's hard 😭
hello im a person who want's to draw and draw well and i have a few questions about your class im not good at drawing, im a beginner to be exact but what i think i want most is what path should i take, am i going the right way?, what wrong with this? and solution to that is feedback so i want to know if i can get a feedback on my work or assignment and if i can get it what is the system like and there might be some grammar issues because im korean(sorry about that...)
Marc, I've been doing gesture drawings and figure sketches for a while now but I've never figured out how to convey the flow line/principal axis of motion (PAoM) for a figure whose weight is evenly distributed between the two legs (such as the kneeling figure in 5:46). Based on my understanding of gesture, for poses like this, the PAoM would actually run out of the body, between the legs, into the ground, but somehow because the lower extremities are doing a lot by themselves, it doesn't feel "correct" to leave that out entirely of the PAoM. Do you have thoughts on this? Actually, the kneeling figure in 5:46 already has a lot more gesture than my usual subjects. Figures I draw of this kind are like: [a] a martial artist doing punching exercises in horse-riding stance (very stiff); [b] a dancer with a similar horse-riding stance (in this instance, usually I can convey the flow line for the upper body but draw a blank from the hip down where the energy flow splits); [c] an acrobat balancing on a wire (in [a] and [b] I would usually simplify the lower torso to a rectangular shape but in this one it's more triangular).
Is there any course for more traditional art instead of digital? Is the difference between the two methods significant enough to really need seperate courses, or would almost all the learning translate directly between both? Just tryng to improve my art too thanks 🙏
Although all your tutorials are very useful and I used some of your techniques marc, I'm really struggling drawing the character in angles or poses.. i mean, making the character still looks the same looks even in different angles or perspectives.😢😢😢
I read that as 8 levels of DAMN
8 levels of damnymic poses
Eight levels of response to that burn at the start of the video
I read that in Chris Tuckers voice lol
DAMNamism

The lesson is great, but I couldn't concentrate for a while mesmerized by your ability to draw hands and feet so perfectly on the fly.
Half of those poses are from reference so that helps :’)
I mean, he is a professional. 😆 I would guess that makes a difference in skill/experience.

Great vid, it's nice to see content that's so compact with valuable information and easily digestible.
This guy is just great and motivating too
Thank-you for breaking it into levels. This is a great framework for me to work from.
As a self taught artist that's freaking amazing. Anatomy is tough on any level and I love learning to do different poses and perspectives.
OHHHH MARC PARLE FRANÇAIS !!!! J'en suis agréablement surpris 😁
Thank you ❤ Now I feel motivated to practice anatomy + poses
You're always hitting with good info
Thanks for the class ❤❤❤

Okay time to change career
Yo!
I can draw dynamic poses but only for female characters o.o
Male characters feels much more limited. Any tips?
Do more angles and fewer curves
Oh Bonjour Monsieur Marc
I like how he draws female bodies, they’re really good
Hi! How to create a brutal male image?
Woh
Although all your tutorials are very useful and I used some of your techniques marc, I'm really struggling drawing the character in angles or poses.. i mean, making the character still looks the same looks even in different angles or perspectives.😢😢😢
Is it okay to sacrifice some realism to improve the design? like foreshortening
as long as it doesn't look broken you can/should do whatever you want :)
