After a very serious depression, Kurt Cobain decided to turn his life around. He quit drugs, donated a sizable portion of his wealth to charity and retired in April 1994. Kurt moved to a quiet town in Oregon, where he still resides with his wife and children.
I was about to say this sounds a bit like Pixies. I know this song was pretty much a parody of a Pixies song, but it sounds even more like them this way. I keep thinking I'll hear Kim's voice sing "And this I know. His teeth as white as snow..."
The guitar kinda sounds like When I Come Around, the verses sound like Weezer, the leadup to the chorus sounds like The Offspring, the chorus sounds like Blink-182, and the lyrics are Nirvana, so congrats, you just made the entire 90's into one song unintentionally
After breaking his addiction to heroin he divorced Courtney love and gained custody of Francis and nirvana released their 4th and final album before breaking up due to artistic differences. But the album was amazing gaining critical and commercial acclaim. Kurt not wanting to give up music started a solo career moving away from grunge and making more punk/alternative/acoustic rock music. During the writing and recording of his first album he meets Toby vail from bikini kill and they start dating and after a year they get married and move in together to a small house in Washington state. The next year kurt releases his first solo album and although it isnt as successful as any of nirvanas album it is still great. During this time, also, kurt and Courtney repair their relationship and become lifelong friends. About 10 years later. After releasing 5 albums he retires. The next year he, krist and Dave get back together and go on a reunion tour and now kurt, after having a successful career and a happy life he finds a cure for his stomach problem and lives a happy life with his family. The end
Oh, I get it. You keep the same intervals but go the opposite direction, if the line goes up one fourth, you go one fourth down to the fifth, and so on.
@@guilhermequireza So basically if a song goes from lower to higher (2-3) let's say notes D to E In this version it will go 2-1 or D to C I think this is correct
And to all those who are wondering why it suddenly sounds so happy, it's because minor chords (which have minor 3rd then major 3rd) become major chords (cause they have major 3rd first and then minor 3rd), and if you'll change whole minor scale that way, you'll end up with mixolydian which sounds rather happy and energetic.
@@valzugg Inverted power chords become 4ths, which are usually used in such a way only by really intense metal bands, because they sound lower and beefier than they really are. So it's pop punk with death metal power chords. Cool, i guess?
The simplest explanation is that negative harmony switches major chords to minor chords and vice versa. In fact, if you invert the major scale, you get a minor scale (except with a flat 2nd) and if you invert the minor scale, you get a major scale (except with a flat 7th)
I tried playing the original over this version now. That's pretty interesting. It's a little hard to get the two to match up and they don't quite work at the same pace so they drift apart, but as long as they fit together it actually works quite well.
I noticed that too. I recorded the instruments to a Dave Grohl drum stem I found, but it seems to be at a slightly different tempo from some versions of Teen Spirit. Might be due to different versions being dubbed from tape, which has variations in playback speed. Or maybe the drums I found weren't actually Grohl!
