- Another question I know other content creators get asked a lot, and almost @everyone in my community entering in the 40s has asked, is should you build the G4 Faction Miners? If so, when? What are the pros and cons of doing so? In this video I do a bit of cost analysis to see if it's worth investing in these miners or sticking with what you have already. Let's dive in!

As a lvl 44 I have all 3 4* miners - all at t4. This gets me to the 400k nodes and considering dual grind on factions I can natively get to the node without burning at least 2 relos a day or lots of disco juice. And remember all events are in 3* faction/independent space.
I think this all depends on where your 3* faction miners are at. When I hit 41, my 3* miners were only tier 5-6, so I build a Hydra and put it to T3 and its still great now building ops 46 this weekend. If you have maxed 3* miners it wouldn't hurt to wait a while.

Didn't max the 3* either, and don't like moving to DS. But with the 4* still being able to mine deeper were it's less crowded
it wouldnt hurt, but you could also scrap your miners for quality 4* material to upgrade the 4* survey. trade off is pretty good, imo

I have a tier 4 vorta, getting close to tier 5. I am about to go ops 46. My vorta has the crystal refit. I highly recommend getting a 4* miner. The credits have not been a problem. I am about 80 bps away from my pilum, and probably a month away from actually building the pilum. This has not been a huge issue for me, mainly since I haven't really cared about spending a ton of romulan credits on officers, because they are my least favorite officer group. I have maxed all of the original crew Romulan officers, and most of them spend time on lower decks and away missions. The main downfall is survey parts are tough to come by. I made sure to max my Meridian first, and soon my feesa will be tier 10, so i'll be running survey parts in that refinery. My antares in near maxed, and once it is I plan to scrap it, and use parts for a new hydra. That will give me two g4 faction miners able to run all 3 materials.
Ler me add, the mining rate is great. I mine 60k/hr in deep space, and over 100k/hr in territory.
Dean has it right. Ops 45, I have a t4 hydra with t5 warp - gets to warp 130. What you have majorly overlooked is the mining speed - you can mention the amalgam and meridian, but their mining speed is less than half a faction miner. The next thing you've overlooked is node size. A constant complaint is time in game to complete objectives - being able to park on the 400k nodes at warp 120 (or, god forbid, the 2.4 million nodes in warp 150) is a great way to spend less time logging in to reset miners. I also highly recommend picking up ONE of the faction miners.
Your Feesha won't be tier 10 for a while tho as the warp lock requires lvl 51, and the Feesha parts refinery is unlocked by its refit, not tier.
@@Odysseus11821 sitting on 400k nodes overnight is great. I stroll out in the morning untouched usually with 300k+ raw material.
@@DoingK I have the refit, clearly, and I meant to say my feesha with be ready to go tier 10 soon, meaning it's that far along, and I can just start collecting survey parts until I rank up ops.

I am at level 39, waiting to take to leap into the 40's but your video's have given me more to think about an what I should be doing like investing more in my research tree and becoming more efficient in my common materials and parts first. it mostly depends on how much time you need to find mines. if your server is filled with mid 40s or ships like meridian/feesha/amalgam are allowed to mine there the higher warp range is a big advantadge. if you can find a mine in lower ds there is no need to hurry up with building.
it is terrible to search hours for a node to finish your dailys/reffinerie needs(and im speaking of the lowest ref. option
).
I'm a 46. Never bought them, no desire to. Seems a waste. I just upgraded my 3* and Discovery. Gets everywhere I need to and plus allows me to upgrade Pilum and Newton. And of course all the ore and gas for buildings. Skip the 4* miners.
Same here, waste of mats imo. They only mine easier and faster than my merries, feesha or amalgam but they all do the job if needed. My alliance even has two g4 territories to make 4* miners even more unneeded.
i finally sourced my Hydra free. It’s T5 and my maxed Antares is faster. I am disco’ing them to dark space, so that doesn’t matter. I don’t see the point. The Nova, though. 🤤

I have all 3* and 4* faction miners (got them as soon I could build them), at 45 with all warp research your 3* can only get to 2 systems with cry/ore/gas, 4 * star miners TIER 2 with JUST THE WARP UPGRADED gives you warp 95 (costs only 4* commons) can get you to 3 systems easy with a cargo hold pc that can clean a whole node. I can mine wih 6 ships at once and did not need to waste all the 3* on upgradeing the 3* miners...I just got one to tier 8 last month for a spending event. You are going to be sitting in the 40's for a while, get the 4* miner, plus the mining rate is way faster than the amalgam and meridian and you don't need to waste all the shroom discoing miners to nodes.

It's highly dependant on your server and RoE. i have a T4 Vorta and a T3 hydra with both refits.. i absolutely love them!

As f2p i did not have the amounts of uc crystal to get my 3* miners to these lvl's, getting the 1x4* greatly eased the mining time within the game, now at OPs lvl 43 and i am still glad i built my hydra.

If you dual faction grind at 40+, which I have done and strongly recommend as a battlepass only player you can effectively source a "free" 41 miner versus if you are grinding a single faction just by doing the dailies. Going dual faction will also allow for securing 2-46 ships for solo armadas, if you a player wanted, which seems to be the optimal strategy for punching up on solo armadas and to then skip a lvl 50 epic ship. I love having the hydra, the extra warp range and having more protected cargo are huge quality of life improvements over even a maxed 3* miner.

I think what Rev is saying is correct if you are spending money on the game and advancing quickly. However if you aren't and grinding away, you have more than enough time to get these ships and tier them to at least T3. You can't appreciate how convenient it is to be based in normal space but have the ability to get to DS too mine. Most events are in normal space and also farming systems like Swarm, Exchange, Borg etc. You start running out of Discovery jumps real quick.
If you're spending money the G4s make MORE sense, IMO. F2P, best to cut what corners you can. Mid-40s gives you more time to save (or grind them for free)
Great advice, Rev. I am 53 and only just built my first G4 miner. My maxed G3’s are working in DS 24/7 and my disco is crucial. At this point, my T5 hydra isn’t faster than the Antares, and we have ROE so OPC is not a big issue. I will build a Nova when I can, but no rush on the G4’s.
Nice timing on this vid as I''ve been thinking about this lately.. I'm still at 39 so I've plenty of time but was thinking I could use the factions creds for my secondary fac (Feds) and get a Hydra without causing any disruption to my planned Romulan route with Valdore & Pillum. If I did get it I likely wouldn't level it more than t2 or 3 early on until I'm a higher level and can spare the rss.
I got the B'chor. It just wanders around mining 4* all the time, love it
Built all 3 , and for free . Mix of grinding for bps and faction credits . Got hydra at tier 7 , hoping it can reach g5 space for mining eventually 😛
There's a lot to be said about the major arguments revolving around a tier 8 or 9 Faction Miner... and just one to boot. You yourself are dual-rep leveling still, which moves you from one DS Miner to two for efficient minings sake (cause the gas miner on ore, say, not exactly efficient). You also immediately jump the g4s to T5, which, is not needed at low 40s. Out of the box the g4s run 75, which immediately beats a max g3 (which odds are most dont have) and gets you access to four (five for ore) total low ds systems to mine in. Relocation (which means blowing relos) also doesnt help for dual-rep, since youre stuck in one faction space, and then you have the fact that most of your warships arent getting OUT of DS to normal space. And of course theres summoning, which, well, has its own costs that simply multiply with range needed and ships moving around.
Deuce loves to hammer on base move to second or third warp hubs. But be real faction 3* ships t8 only engines get you to mine on any of 2 warp65 nodes in DS. And u can use one or two slots within extra warp officers.
Btw I’m gona build a 4* to t3.
My faction miners were all T5 at 39. My Disco was maxed before going to 40 (24 1 day speedups in refine at 40 if maxed.) I'm f2p besides the battlepass and I'm about to hit 49 in December. I have no 4* miners and no 4* faction warships. I also haven't scrapped a single lvl 26 ship. Only 4* ship I keep up with is the Franklin-A to be able to kill my appropriate level swarm to collect the resources from that refinery daily.
I spent my 4* mats only on buildings required to take ops from 40 to 49, and efficiency researches at each level. I did other researches as well, but used mats sparingly. All 3* research was done by 40, so all my 3* just was sent to my 3* ships over the course of the 40s. I now have a maxed Aug, Ent, D4, Antares, Valkis, and K'vort. I never once felt like I was strapped or needed to buy a pack in order to upgrade something. I still place in most SLBs and complete all my SMSs with no problem. At 49, I plan on sitting until they start loosening the noose on 5* like they eventually did for 4*. I see 5* as not being viable for a mainly f2p player yet. So while we wait, I'll be building a 4* ship and doing more researches... all at reduced prices because all my efficiencies are completed. My Aug handles everything just fine and my Disco gets it there. Stay away from the 4* ships. Higher ops level has a much better return on value.
On my server mines are fairly busy. Relocating was of limited use because there would only be one mine free and then I could only grind with the jelly or FA, meaning I had 2 ships doing nothing which felt inefficient. Using the disco all the time to summon miners meant I was able to use more ships but one had to be close to the station so I could recall and swap for the disco every time I needed it. As I knew I was getting the Valdor and was dual Fed/Rom, I had spare fed credits I could spend on a hydra. At Tier 4 which is not too expensive, it mines as fast as a max antaries with huge protected cargo and with the Hydra skin, it mines as fast as a Vaklkis as well, and has warp range 120 meaning I can reach further making it easier to find a free mine without relocating or using a discovery so I'm never forced to having ships docked doing nothing or close by and can use my other docs more efficently - it made my game style a lot more convenient and I didn't really notice any trouble progressing my ops, it may have delayed it a little bit but not by any amount I noticed.

I agree with this thought process. It seems similar to the one regarding the 3* faction miners. They're not necessary (or a good value) to get and tier up the moment they are available to you. Push on with your prior generation's miners for a few Ops levels before spending materials on the big new miners.
I am level 44 and got all three for free. Hydra T6, B'Chor T8 and Vorta Vor T7. I never had a resource problem, but I got all three at level 40/41.
It depends on where you are in your journey and what your mining needs are. At ops 41, I only have 1 G3 faction miner tiered up to the point that it’s got the legs to make it to 4* mining territory. Yeah, my disco can make it, but using it multiple times a day every day eats up your mycelium stores faster than you’d think. I wanted another miner that could get there on its own, and I had the materials to build a Hydra, but not to tier up my K’vort or Valkis, so it was more cost effective at the time. At tier 2, it’s got more than enough range and cargo capacity to get the job done. Will probably tier it up to 3 and keep it there for the foreseeable future.
With warp range officers, my tier 6 Hydra has a warp range of 185(I'm level 49). I don't need my Disco for mining as it can cover anything that I need(including G5 nodes). My G3 mining ships get the G3 and lower warp range G4 nodes for my daily needs. I don't regret getting one G4 miner at all at level 41. It's been worth the cost in my opinion as it's allowed me to focus on multiple node types at once.
I def would recommend having one at that tier by lvl 49, just not for a lvl 41. (probably start that process in the 44-46 range, personally).
I got the B’Chor, and I love it.
Happy with my Hydra at T3 with warp engines, gets to warp 120 with cadet scotty to mine in the 46 systems. Been chucking all my crystal into D3s to scrap so only have one high tier g3 miner
I built the B'CHOR cuz there's a skin that allows you to mine gas as well, fairly quickly. Plus I want that Bajoran miner defence thing, so i can laugh at my attackers. The lolz alone will be worth it. Not spending $300 for that though. The grind it is. Being mostly FTP, I move slowly in the ranks. The Feesha is the best ship to access those "spoke" systems. It also allows you to finish mining events really quickly. As far as why i got the B'CHOR, I'm gonna be spending a lot of time in the low 40s. A lot.
I waited till ops 49 to build all 3 of them, had several bps and factions credits, so it didn’t cost me anything. 2 are at tier4 and one is at tier3. Will slowly grow them as needed.

Can’t say i agree with you on this one Rev, but it depends greatly on where you’re g3 ships are at. Myself my strongest g3 was only a t6. I put most of my g3 into research and of course ops progression. Once i went into the 40s (wit most of your checklist done) i ended up spending the g3 on lvl 26 ships to scrap vs maxing the fac miners. I used my disco or more often just base jumped to ds and mined woth multiple ships or even used the amalgam for g4. As i really began rep grinding i started getting alot of hyrda bps. Then once i got to lvl 42 i got my fed rep up and spent fac credits to finish the hyrda along with a valdore. I only got the hyrda a t2 but it definitely gave me some better mining options. It’s also nice to use for the new g4 token space which i can mine better.
I think building one ship can be a good solution if you don’t have your other g3 maxed. I think those mats used for d3 scraping has me primed for my pilum which i hope to build soon and be able to lvl fast.
Rev you're correct in your assessment but you overlook a tiny benefit for building them. I use them to complete rss spend events. I'm currently lvl 33 and my horizons do the grunt work my mining. I have all 3 faction miners (I currently get tons of faction credits) I do not upgrade them unless I need them for rss spend events in which I cant complete them by using research without wasting massive amounts of precious resources. I am slowly working towards my lvl 35 camping spot where I will build my enterprise, D4, augur(already secured the bps)
I only maxed 1 g3 miner and the others are at t4/t5. So when the g4 miners opened, I bought 1 and took it to t2 so I had 2 miners that can reach deep space. Faction credits wasn't an issue, but I agree with saving the uc mats for other things.
I skipped until 46 and my pilum was built and tiered. Now I have built one just from grinding and away teams- and a couple credits when I was a part or two short (impatience!) - t3 or t4 won’t slow your progression. I might do more unless I make the leap into the 50s…but at 47 I have no plans to go past 49 as of now. The warp range starts to help for sure
I have all 3 4* miners, and no regrets. The meridian and Amalgam mine mats slow AF. At ops 49, that speed is crucial to outpace my refine ability to keep reserves

The Discovery summoning capability pretty much removes the need for G4 miners from a warp range perepective. You can just find a good system, Disco-yoink your Antares or whatever there, and then yoink it back when you’re done. Quick, no muss no fuss. Better to save the faction credits, especially as you get into the late 40’s and low 50’s. The key is to spend as few resources as possible to get the highest rate of return, and mycelium is easy to get.
Now, for G5 - get the Nova, because it can go where Disco can’t. And it’s a tough beast.
Ops 45, ready for 46. Just build my first 4* miner (Klingon). Have Antares and valkis tier 7, with warp range research, there is no need for now to press for the other 4* miners, as this is enough.
i skipped over the miners and maxed the amalgam... don't forget to collect from the refinery every fresh tier and a single mining exo as the refinery resets on tier change... took a total of 2 days to max it... with my level at 46 and research done for what i can... its cargo 13.79mil 618k protected 159 warp and 178 impulse
I plan on getting the G4 miners, but only using my Away Team Points. Should be quick using Epic Kelvin Kirk, Epic Nero, and Ahvix. I wont use the faction credits on those. I've barely touched my G3 faction miners....so it'll be nice to have em. ATM i use my Meridian and Amalgam to get to the two G4 nodes that my Alliance doesn't have
I ended up getting all three. I used faction credits on one, another I got from grinding and the third was a mix of grinding and faction credits. With the super highways, my hydra mines G5 gas for my dailies and I still use the other two for various mining.

Hi Rev, you are starting with the assumption that everyone has a t8 g3 miner. That is not always the case. I am lvl 39 and all my g3 miners are t5 or lower, so the only way for me is to either tier them up, or get a g4 miner. I decided for the second option and I am now buying hydra bps as I will not purchase any other fed g4 ships and plan to tier it up to the point where it doesn’t need uncommon yet.
I have vorta vor T5, i don't regret it. I can do DS mining, where is not that crawded as low 4* systems. Also have refit for it to mine basically with same speed the crystal as ore.
I definitely agree you have to balance what you want to go for. I got my hydra with grinding and a lot of my vorta also. But was in mid 40s when i got them. Now in mid 50s they are really helpful with the skins and when mining in a higher system. They mine the five star faster than 4 star faction ships. Definitely cost though to upgrade. Tough if you are going multi faction and have to juggle all those resources
I built my 41 miners at Ops49. Warp120 at T3+Warp drive upgrade and Galaxy research. Have 2/3 so far. Used Away Team currency for 50% of B’Chor and 100% of the Antares.
Thanks for the video Rev! I think your opinion on this is heavily biased though, because you somehow assume that everyone has T8-9 G3 faction miners. If they do, that's all dandy and they should not opt for G4 surveys, but if they don't, well they are stuck with either constant Disco summoning or "relocate to a hub + mine with everything you have" strategy. Take into account things like you won't mine in peace in deep space forever to fill in your cargo, this becomes a problem very fast.
Also, other side to the coin is, at least I feel that way: What are you doing with the faction credits if you don't spend them on one of those ships? Saving for L42 ships? L46? Surely not the 50...
I am at level 44, I am not a heavy spender, I don't even buy the monthly elite battlepass, but I have my T5 Kelvin. I had to arrive at a decision too: Hold until Newton or get the Hydra? I think the real question here is, what are you supposed to do with the credits if you don't spend them? Newton is surely going to take a LONG time so it is not the worst idea to have a proper mining ship for G4s if you don't have a max/near-max G3 survey.
With that in mind, I'd say it would be better to invest in T8/T9 G3s than any level of G4 (until mid 40s).
Built a 4* miner, its great for getting to clear mining space. If your patient you can alwats wait for a mine to open up, but if you want consitant open mines you'll need a 4 * miner...
Interesting concept. I just hit Ops 41 yesterday. Was thinking about that 4* miner, but now...
When it comes to G4 vs G3 faction miners I look at it this way - How much mycellium saved and how much less ship traffic is my miner exposed to because I have better warp range.
G3s rate is better for a good deal of time, but I prefer the G4 like I mentioned above due to warp range.
I built both the Klingon and Rommy 4* miners and use both all day every day. My 3* miners were left around t4. These miners are great, mind you I'm on a server that allows opc in deep space. Be sure to get the skins. Most of your time in this game is spent mining so make that as easy as possible.
All this talk of warp range but let's not forget a T2 G4 miner will mine considerably SLOWER than a maxed G3 as well.
When you are looking to really up your mining game and the 100k nodes aren't enough, you are going to find yourself relocating to a warp 120 system for the spoke and wheel effect. Having a 120 warp miner means you can locate in one G4 material and send the big miner to mine another one. This is a very useful capability. i agree that they are not a priority in the low 40's, but in the mid 40's they start to look more attractive.

At a certain moment you come to the question: what do you need to progress. I am level 42 for 5 months now. Before that 8 months level 39.
I have been using my enterprise for months now. Enterprise is 7.1M in strength (warp 85). Maxout Gladius (4.4M warp 75). Yellyfish tier 6 (7.2M warp 95+). Augur tier 7 - (5.5 million warp 75+). Discovery warp 120+. Cerritos tier 6 - warp 120+. Maxout Merdian 120 warp. Maxout fraction mining ship warp 80.
Then you come to the question, do you really need level 42 warship .... or just skip and continue doing research
I have been saying this for months to my alliance. I have two maxed out meridians. And a third at tier 8. With the ugly. If I want dark space mines I use them. And now people are getting all pissed about slow mining in dark space. It’s not my fault scoply designed the meridian this way.
I love having my USS Hydra that can get me warp 110 (tier 3) Deep Space mining with no need for using Disco juice or a warp officer. My other two *3 faction miners can use a warp range officer each and get to low Deep Space systems. I can get all three ships mining in Deep Space without using summoning. Ops lvl 42.
Personally if you have the disco to a good level of warp , horizons are a cheap but effective option
all are good and well if u compare a max g3 miner with a t5 g4 miner...
but that is not the case for the majority of players
at ops 35 u still spend uc crystal on vidar / sal / d4 => that leave g3 miners at only t3 / t4 ( that is enough for ops 35 )
i have all 3 g3 miners still at t5 with all 3 g4 miners at t3 ( just enough for the warp range, so that i don't have to summon ) at ops 45
and g4 miners clears a 100k node in 2.5h that is enough for me.
But having the comfort of being able to send the miners to ds without summoning was so worth it, for me :)
I got the Vorta, the Valdore and now I'm 47 BPs away from the Pilum 😁
At lvl 39 I've tiered up a Valkis, but not an Antares or K'Vort. My plan for when I get to 41 is to get a B'Chor and its skin to cover G4 crystal and gas while I mine ore with the Valkis. At this point it doesn't make any sense for me to tier up the other two G3s.
The crystal I didn't spend on the two G3 miners is being converted into G4 for the B'Chor via D3 scrapping.
A 4* faction miner also went up greatly in value thanks to the new 4* dominion mining systems that have 5 million crystal/gas/ore on each node
I Love my hydra with the ore mining skin. Wouldn’t do it differently and I’m ops 42. But I also camp strategically and stopped putting materials into so I could do other things. The skin was purchased in an end of arc event store. I used away team creds to offset the cost.

Got mine as soon has my level allowed and the skin to mine another 4 star mat.. The mining speed is way better, which I notice Rev did not touch as it did not work it in his discussion to not get one before mid 40s.
I have all 3 faction miners at tier 8, but I find babysitting them 100k at a time in low deep space tiring, especially if your at work you have to be on it all the time refreshing nodes and its simply not possible.
I can use my Tier 9 meridians for over night mining, but due to ROE on my servers I am at mercy of other players as they are not permitted on 4* nodes and my be killed at will, sometimes I get lucky other times not so much.
4* miners definitely a mats sink, the biggest advantage I’ve found of having a vorta with skin is the flexibility I have - can relocate to a warp 120 hub mine one material with 3* and send my vorta off to do a different mat at same time so an overall time save
Maybe some comments on the new ship ability of the North Star? It seems to have turned into a big bad wolf when attacked. Is it worthwhile getting?

Only up 44, long sit on 41. On 40-41 I haven't max 3* miners, only mer was best long warp miner. I build VortaVor before up Antares, it's great help. At now it t5. Every night it mine ~350k 4* in 120 system. But I see how all 120- systems occupations buy Meridian, Amalgam Feesha. Now I want buy t6 warp, with Brush and +10 warp it gives ~150 warp range - next mining positions.
I forgot ask about mining speed max Met have ~ 10k/h on 4* node, t5 VortaVor ~40k/h...
And any way we need more 4* spot system in 150- space. And I think in 184- soo. Today I see 175 warp on my Feesha, after few day I check some 185+ space...
It depends if someone has access to territory 4* and Server ROE, I have one T5 B'chor with gas upgrade from ther event store and don't regret it, with ghrush as officer (i will lose a bit PC and miningspeed) i have a range of 151. I don't have problems to find free nodes. Besides, the resource cost are not ad bad as i seems at first, in the mid 40's the discount is about 40%..
Only thing that keeps me from building a second 4* ,most likely Vorta Vor, is the lack of green freighter parts as i'm only a light spender.
I've been slow grinding a hydra with away teams credits. I probably won't commit heavily into it once I've got it built till I'm a month or 2 into my 42 camp

Meri, amal, etc are outlawed on G4 on our server due to their low(er) mining speed and the SEVERE lack of G4 mines. Meri I haven't used in months anyway. We don't have territory and are too small to conquer one with the 1v1 rule on our server...
Yeah this needs to be revisited. I'm 41. With the Ex Borg Faction why are you even mining Isogen? You can buy it I have millions in the 3 types my Meridian is getting dusty.
I have got the Hydra, and on my way getting Vorta Vor. Am going to scrap my Antares and Valkis to support tiering them up. I like how they look.
I bought a hydra and for the most part, didnt have enough mats to tier it up. Still only have it at T2 at OPS 44.
My disco will take my faction miners there or I can relocate my base using a Franklin feesha ,kevlin or well you get the hint
Lvl 49 here haven't bought any bps for em grinded for all 3
i just build all 3 ones with OPS 48/49 to T3 to have them.... not using them at all.... i am on the way up to 53 now and building around the upgrade cost only what is needed... having Dual Lock (1.5b now each) with Fed & Rom helps me getting now Corvus and Northcut BPs.... But i like having most ships out of the portfolio STFC gives us ^^ (G3 only all maxed Epics survived)
LVL39, T7 Antares and can get to the low level 4* systems at warp 65 (with cadet scotty). Probably won't get these for a long while, saving credits. And with 3 of 11 enough protected cargo to mine the 100k node without going over opc
I grinded a full set of B'Chor at lvl 39 from Kronos, built it as soon as I hit 41 only to level 10, it is helpful but not out performing my T7+warp K'vort
As a 46, it makes no sense for me to waste materials on a 4* faction miner. My Amalgym and feesha can reach 120+ mining nodes, my meridians can reach 115 mining. My 3* faction miners can reach the 75 warp space if I need to mine faster. There is no advantage to using a 4* faction miner
First, do your research, Rev’s research is lite, those costs can be greatly reduced if you do your research. Second, you’ll need the warp range as you go through your 40’s. You can’t get a NOVA till 52, the 4star miners are valuable mining 5star too. I’m a 53, get those miners, you’ll thank me later.
the only research i have that's light is the outlaw. And keep in mind, Im not saying don't get the G4 miners, just don't get them 40-42. As I said in video, recommend people pick them naturally more towards mid-40s
I'm ops 39 and just from farming in Kronos I'm over half way to a free bchor but I doubt I'll put much into it when I do finally jump up into the 40's
Currently 42 and I built the fed 4 star so that I could stay in territory space and have 2 miners in dark space mining as I am dual faction
I love my tier5 Hydra, warp130, pc 275k, 58k/h 4*gas, with skin ore 57k/h with borg miners. Need care nobody hit it, holy big trit needy repair... :) I have tier3 Klingon miner too with gas skin. These give me cool mining rates no need the 3rd romulan.
I've not unlocked the 4* miners yet... I really find it hard to find nodes anyway we have stupid rules on our server.. I'm not going to spend faction credits on them but when I get enough prints from pve then I will.
I plan to get it with grinding in Sol or other 47+ fed hostiles instead of getting it with faction tokens, i already got quite a few.
I'm planning to get it to tier 4 + warp, that should get me (with the warp range research) to Sozin
I have 4M+ cargo on my Antares with my mining crew loadout lol
Those first four star mining areas are high competition areas
It's the ship parts that is the real rub when owning a G4 miner
I get g4 miner almost in grind in solo, kronos and Romulus! I get my g4 miner very late when i have ops lvl 49 and hit the 1 billionn Mark for Rom Rep. I get Hydra frist the B'chor and at last Vorta. It is better to inverst in your ops lvl and research. They are lot of research of efficience to low your cost of Material and the Enhance Warp core give you 25 Warp range at the end R&E 48. You want miss that. Till that you can take the Disco as your miner taxi for Miner if you reach higher mining spot! The 160 warp and 185 is the biggest with 2,4 Million node.
At the End If you reach ops 49 and get all efficiency research for Martial. The bottle neck of all g4 miner is ship component. There not much efficiency to reduce it only some in Outlaw and Galaxy tree.
Scoply should give us more efficiency research for ship conponent g4 and g5!
If you hit 50 Nova is you miner you should go!
really you dont need go into the higher warp range systems i checked and from respected to champion is around 125k mats for faction mining so not needed but a nice to have the 100k ones are good just go off and on i dont mine overnight for my g3 as mine only take around an hour to do not long enough time for a movie lol im working on fed to 1bil lock and plan to do capitols for the g4 ships BPs already got 2/150 ktinga bps

i think i got around 130 hydra shards completely from away team tokens. so theres another way to grab them for free (on the long run)
I completely disagree. I do not regret getting these at all. This makes the monthly bonus refinery so much easier to achieve. I never maxed out my first faction miner set, though.
