Thanks for the instructions. I saw a TikTok with people playing and ordered one for Christmas. Unfortunately, it didn't come with directions, so it's great to have this instructional give the full details.
We played a variation of this in elementary where we could add, subtract, multiply, or divide to get the needed number. This is a great math game for young kids.
Neighbors threw out a 2 player box and my bf and I were really interested. It's black and blue and has a mystic vibe. Super cool and comprehensive video on the rules- tried reading a few articles but it wasn't clicking. This was nice, sweet, simple, and super easy to follow
historically i am not sure, however, you could placie a small, static wager per player, such as $2 each. The winner takes all. In case of a tie, the pot is split. Advanced players may wish to accept variable bets, based on the difference in total scores. You could do this as quarter per point, where a loss of 14 to 6 would cost the loser $2. This is simple enough in a 2-player game. similiar to how people bet on cribbage.
hey thanks for watching..... The overriding goal is to completely cover all numbers or "shut the box" which results in the best possible score of zero. so in flipping down all of the numbers you are SHUTTING THE BOX.
If there are multiple players what happens if more than one player is able to shut the box. Is it a draw or do these players do another round until there is a winner ?
thanks for watching and good question. I had to do some digging on that and from what i have read a tie in this manner is not possible, as once one player shuts the box, they are automatically the winner of that round. So a player who is later would not have the opportunity to do the same in that game.

I got mine today
I got 10 shut the box. So what will happen if my dices roll 11 or 12? Will I flip 10 and 1 for 11 or what?
This is my question. I was looking for one that had 12 bit more expensive

Thanks so much for the kind words. I have been at it for just over a year and hoping to see even more growth in year two.

The TOTAL of the slabs has to be six or less to roll one dice.

If your down to a 2 and 4 and you roll a 4, can you pass or do you have to play the 4? Thus waiting to roll a 6.
Your games different. I have one that goes up to 12.

How is the score 15 and not 159?
1+5+9=15
You didn’t explain what shut the box means

The single version is in a box with a lid, so when you win...you shut the box.

@@JMNCGames wait but wouldn’t that give a player a leg up based on the order they were playing. 🥴

It's impossible to have 2 players shut the box, if you shut the box you win. You rotate the player one position in scoreboard order.
@@sunsetnwaves, it's the same in any other game...cards, Sorry, etc. Since each person gets a turn, whoever finishes the game first is the winner.
