Here is a neat tip for people!
I just went to the Asian grocery and was able to buy a lot of the stuff I use for seasoning foods, super cheap! I also got some dried foods cheap (shitake mushrooms, bamboo shoots, and kelp knots) bought different kinds of veggie starch. Also they have tons and tons of bulk rice of every imaginable kind!! Should check it out!! I got 6 huge bags ful for under a hundred and that included a lg morter and pestle!!
Yep, ethnic food stores are definitely a good place to at least check out. Restaurant supply stores and Mennonite stores are two others to look for.
Really? Asian stores in California and now where I live in the Midwest always overprice their stuff. You’re lucky.
@@jacrispy2068 I guess it depends on your area. Try the stores catering to Hispanics.
@@jacrispy2068 wow! I feel more blessed !! Thanks for letting me know!
I go to the Asian market or the Hispanic one, depending on what I'm needing. Both are several towns over, so I wait until it's a big trip to make the drive worth it.
I haven't been to Costco since early 2020. So I watch all Costco hauls, you I watch all your videos. I was so craving the can roast beef.Right before Christmas they got it. Got two for Christmas as I'm on oxygen never shop I wanted nothing. But my daughter bought me too more for my birthday right before Christmas. That plus my grandkids homemade gifts were great. One day when your a grandpa I hope I am here to see it. U will be the best grandpa as your a wonderful person.
Linda, being a grandmother is the best. I wish we had a Costco, but I enjoy the Sam's club. We only go two to three times a year, but I really stock up. The cash register is always a heart stopper but I try to remember that most products are packaged for 3 to 4 uses.
I haven’t seen it at mine for years!
I’m always amazed at the amount of food in these big box stores. Considering the number of stores stocked with food testifies to the ability of this planet to provide for us if we take care of it.
You live in Alaska, and still live closer to a Costco than I do
I'm gonna use my $600 on stocking up on my preps and maybe a little something for myself.
Angry Prepper HATES spam.
🤣🤣😂😂
Angry Prepper cracks me up.
I love his videos.
I love when he talked about getting more food and he said "F@ck it. Stop the video go out right now and buy more food."
It took me about a year to establish my rotating pantry and shelf stable foods.
Now I am focusing on pressure canning protein, freeze dried foods and gardening.
Always fun to “Shop With AP 😄‼️”
Yes I need more aluminum foil. I need to make more hats with them.😂😂😂
Yes really making foil hats
If you think that Rudy is just pontificating on a SHTF scenario, you might be on the wrong channel.

"I need bottles of air for my computer" What! go to the camping section and buy a manual foot pump for airbeds etc, free air for ever :)
So funny you released this vid this morning. I just picked up several items yesterday at Costco. All your prices are cheaper than Vancouver, WA
That is very expensive for the fruit and veg .10 lbs potatoes here in New Mexico is 2.98 a bag .and i havent noticed that the prices here are as high as in fairbanks .but meat is very expensive here.wal mart here clearanced Mrs.Cubbinsons stuffing big box for .25 cents .6 box per case .i bought 4 cases for 6 dollars and it is good till sept.2022.
I love pomegranates! So I have Amish friends and one of them grew a lot of butternut squash in 2020 summer and her children did not like it! I offered to give her three youngest a massage in trade for her butternut squash. We ended up with 4- 5 gallon buckets of them
@@ladweeb1798 I am a massage therapist
Could you do a video on the different types of rice and what they are used for? Thank you Rudy
Great idea’ I don’t know the difference between them since we have always used plain long grain white rice
Long grain is less sticky, short grain is more sticky.
@@user.A9 add olive oil to the rice when it’s cooking and it will not be sticky
I like medium grain rice for white rice. I like the sticky rice. I like long grain for spanish rice.
Rudy I love going shopping with you. You have helped and taught me so much about prepping
I live in pa and everything that you have shown is a lot more expensive than here
same for me, i'm in ok- i almost passed out over the lettuce price lol. i guess the costs are higher cause it is alaska. like hawaii maybe.
I'm in westmoreland county
Yes...im in Pa. Too.
I live in SC....we have some of the lowest food costs in the nation.
Trust me as an Alaskan newbie I was shocked at prices when we first got here too. It's because everything has to be barged up, and moved via train.
cabbage here in Indiana is .49c per pound and because it’s so cheap it’s sold out a lot. A head of lettuce is usually around a dollar
I will no longer complain about our prices here in Colorado! Our prices are going up, but they are not as high as yours.
Here are some Austrian prices.
2lb. garlic 5.47$
3lb. bananas 2.28$ (from Colombia)
5.5lb. apples 6.92$
13lb. oranges 19.58$
6lb. carrots 3.26$
Prices are incl. VAT (10%food) and Exchange rate 1€=1.21$
Wish you and your family all the best and stay healthy.
Nice greetings from Austria 🇦🇹
Food Saver is a decent investment. Been using it for 8 years now.
The Costco in my area had a Road Show featuring a Zwilling food saver a month or so ago. I think it was $149. The vacuum part was hand held. The bags were reusable, and it also had glass containers.
That food saver is 189 @ Meijer’s so its a good deal at Costco
@@tammybrennan2040 The Zwilling 7 piece food saver can be had for $99 on the company’s website, Bed Bath and Beyond, etc. I think the Costco product had more pieces. My Costco dosen’t stock it. It was only there during the Road Show.
m d great information I don’t own one. I’m always bowing my sons.
Got mine at Costco when on sale for $99.99. it will go on sale again.
I used the stimulus to buy PSA AR-V, 9mm AR. New boots and a pressure canner. I am part of the problem. 😅
Once I tasted the Calrose rice, I haven't looked back!!!!! Thanks for your recommendation 🥰
That's by far my fave too! My husband introduced me to it when we first got married in 2002!
Wish I had a Costco but it’s more than 200 miles away. I bought some of the Amazon vacuum sealer bags and they are nice.
Good morning @Alaska Prepper! 🇺🇸🎆❤🎈🎉🐾 Whenever u do these price checks, it is like foreign currency pricing:
1. Some items are more favorable or not in your region of the country
2. Costco is far cheaper in bulk than anywhere else but our nearest one is 56 miles away and we do no go there.
In FLORIDA for instance, we cannot touch organic products at the prices of the West coast because glyphosate and gmos are everywhere here! However, factory farm eggs ("regular" eggs)are only $1.29/dozen (we do NOT support this type of agriculture with our dollars). You rice and beans are so much cheaper as is the organic pasta, and other Costco items in bulk. Ge erally, our meat is way more expensive even though Florida raises more cattle by far, than any other state! Now, meat has been cheap because we have begun keeping it here as "they" shut down the 13 factory slaughterhouses in the US, you know, due to the "beer bug." I always find it interesting to be updated.
It really depends on the area that you live/shop in. Some bulk items are much cheaper at other stores. More so if you’re regional stores put items on sale.
Hi AP! Thanks for the tour. Hope the New Year is great for you and your family. God bless.
Last week at Costco in Canada 🇨🇦 Ontario, Mississauga. The veggies and fruit supplies where a bit low. The prices are going up and will continue to do so. Our taxes are going up carbon tax ect.. buy now while while you can.
These prices are almost exactly what ours are here in hawaii!
Finished butchering our second hog this weekend. We’re up to about 325lbs of pork at less than $1/lb. Blessed.
Thanks for showing the cabbage, it reminded me that I need to start the sauerkraut today.
I received a new cosori s.s. dehydrator for Christmas.
I like to buy those cherry tomatoes Rudy bought, eat half and dehydrate the other half before they go bad.
Awesome Christmas gift.
Nice, Audrey! My sister gave me a Nesco last year that runs constantly as well as my oven. I've had to slow down on canning as I only have about 60 mason jars left to fill. They're harder to come by. Have fun with your new toy!😉💖😊
Melody Tenisch ~ The jars are hit n miss. Now that I’m using mason jars, I’m noticing it’s a hot item,
Congratulations that's awesome!!.. hugs and blessings ❤🙏😇
Since I got my stimulus. I’ve gotten a mr heater - propane - propane/butane burner stove - compass - paracord and a commando saw- also got 150$ worth from Aldi of food and supplies. Some more from Walmart supplies wipes- portable propane 4 pack. I will be shopping at Aldi from now on, that was my first time in years, but I got double what I would’ve gotten from Weis giant etc
I paid $13.59 for that Taster's Choice Instant Coffee at B.J.'s here in Lanxcaster. I bought (6) more of them for a total of $80.00!!! I now have (12) of them total. I'm a coffee kind-of-guy!
I bought a few instant coffees for emergencies. But as I have gas I can always use the old percolator coffee pot my mother gave to me, if the power goes out.
@@carmenwheatley7316 We tried out our new percolator on the wood stove last power outage. Worked really well and works with our usual (non instant) coffee so we were pretty pleased.
Remember if you have no membership, you can shop without one. Go 2 guest service desk & get a guest pass. Free. & Pharmacies Are for everyone Never a membership requirement I’ve been going forever. Eye glasses alcohol are also available for everyone, Never a membership requirement
Thanks for the shopping pass tip.
How often can you get a guest pass? Isn’t there a limit?
ladweeb I don’t shop often but I’ve been doing it @ least 6 times a year for food. But you Never have to go to guest service desk for pharmacy. Pharmacy is free to everyone to use. I get thyroid meds & save 30 $ every month
@@tammybrennan2040 Found this on the Costco website. If you can shop in the warehouse for free, no one would pay for a membership:
“Certain merchandise, including prescription drugs and alcoholic beverages, may be purchased by nonmembers where required by applicable law.
Certain merchandise may be purchased online by members or nonmembers. A nonmember pays 5% more than members for such merchandise.”
ladweeb I shop there & the other big box membership store also lets you shop there.
Thanks AP, I always enjoy seeing what's up in other places around the country, and comparing prices/availability. I do not belong to any warehouse clubs but some of your prices there are pretty close to what we pay here in NH, some are much higher. Pomegrenates are 2/$5 here but I buy them at Aldi when I can for .99 or $150 because we love them too!
so sorry for the high prices . I am right by Boston and I got the stew beef cuts you showed for 5.99 lbs. 2 days ago and the regular price is 2.49 -3.49 lbs at cosco and bjs. the markets are still no more than 4.99 lbs on the high price days. we would starve at the prices you have. oh and 10 lb bag of red potatoes was 5.99. I was making beef stew in a lobster pot size pan full of meat , celery, potatoes, onions and carrots figured out it cost me about 17 dollars. I deep freeze 5 dinners for 4 and we eat it the night i make it.
Could not afford to live in Alaska. I just paid $8.88 for 25 pounds of sugar! Everything there is at least twice what I pay and a lot of things are 3 times more expensive!
Not sure about the US but up in Northern Canada the wages are higher and they get isolation pay to help with the higher costs.
Yeah, ill never live in Alaska. Its way to $$$$$. I dont understand how people on these tv shows buy, build, rent, etc . their living quarters.
When i was little in school they told us "you can get free land in Alaska". Im thinking thats a lie. Lol
He was looking at pure cane sugar, which is more expensive than regular sugar (which contains GMOs).
Doreen, we do not get those extra pay up here. No free land either, to the person who wrote that.
@@krisqueen5939 are you Canadian or American?
Your prices are way higher than Florida!! We are very fortunate here as we have lots of farmers markets that are year round. I do a lot of dehydrating for my storage. A plus for me is that I do not eat grains or dairy, just mostly organic vegetable,es and grass fed meats, but thank you for the comparison 🤗
Prices seemed pretty expensive on your produce. They are creeping up where I live. Pretty sad, really
Yes, places like Alaska and Hawaii pay a lot more for their food than in mainland US. States like California also pay much more for food than the Midwest and Southern states.
Very thoughtful Rudy. I always enjoy shopping sprees.
I truly enjoys your videos and you have a lovely personality. Thanks. Funny comment on spam for the angry prepper... another one of my favourite preppers.
Keep doing you! X
I have pomegranate bushes in my yard. They are usually fairly ripe around Halloween. I couldn't fathom paying those prices for them.
Here are some U.K. prices from Tesco (very popular cheapish supermarket). There is roughly 2lb to a kg and £1 is worth 73 cents today.
Iceberg lettuce 43p each.
Eggs: 12 free range £1.69, 10 organic £3, 15 battery eggs £1.18.
Beef mince from £8 a kilo to £2.98 a kilo (2.98 = $4.07/2 is $2.03 a lb).
Toilet rolls 24 for £7.50 or 9 for £1.90 cheapo ones.
Rice: basmati 10kg £14.50. Long grain 4kg £4.75.
It’s unusual to find big bags like that in supermarkets, mostly it’s 1 or 2 kgs.
one of my grandmothers had a pomegranate tree in her back yard....she used to send us giant box full every year....used to make jams, juice, eat them raw, cook them in pies, cookies...you name it we've made what ever we could with them. tried to dehydrate them and free dry them...they were ok.
I worked at a Costco and it was right across the street from Kirtland Air Force Base I thought it was weird they sell Kirkland stuff right across from Kirtland Air Force Base I don't even know why it is named Kirkland but I know we don't need to change the name yeah dude I've been listening to you for awhile you seem like a f****** decent dude man thanks for sharing
AP thanks for your videos-much appreciation always informative. It's good to see how pricing is different in various states. Some things you showed were a bit higher than the lower 48's but within reason. I will tell you one thing, get yourself some dish cloths and stop wasting your money on those sponges. I noticed they fall apart very quickly & not worth the money even when purchased on sale. Get yourself some $store dish cloths, they can also be thrown in the washer to sanitize them, much better for you. Keep on prepping.
Here in Massachusetts our prices are about the same except for the meats. Last week NY STRIP AND RIB EYE was on sale for $5 lbs (I bought 50 lbs each),we are paying around $1.70 a lbs for boneless chicken breast. Hope this was helpful and happy shopping AP.
Hi AP thank you for your videos on making your own bread I am making it now and I can not believe that is turned out really good the first time. And I have made 7 pounds of laundry detergent . And i will making more next week. I have really learned al lot from you so thank you again. I enjoyed this video as well God Bless you and your family
Pomegranates are my entire families favorite food as well. Right after Thanksgiving they sometimes go on sale for $1 apiece. I buy 30 then! 😂 They last weeks in the fridge. Now that we won’t see them in stores much longer my husband asked me to stock up on them. I bought 4 trays from Costco (14.99 apiece here in the Midwest). Costco’s are by far the best quality I’ve seen even if they are more expensive. This is our indulgence. Love them! 😋
Our Costco in Wisconsin doesn’t have any dry beans. Our milk is less than $2 a gallon.
I'm also Wisconsin and was super bummed at the amazing pinto bean sale at his Costco. Our WI Sam's Club stores have dried beans seasonally (have them right now, pinto and black beans) but definitely not as good a deal. I think I paid $8 for a 12# bag of black beans (can't remember for sure, it was a month ago).
@@melissac3618 my Sams runs out in 30 days. I’m not renewing . Only joined because it was free. Costco is better.
@@yarnprepper I agree, I love Costco. I am on my mom's Sam's Membership, otherwise I wouldn't go there either.
Yep. Going through Wisconsin we were BLOWN AWAY with the milk prices in Walmart. I think they were $1.89 for any type of milk the big jug.
Your prices on most items were similar to ours in the high country of Arizona. The produce was higher. Glad that you bought those pomegranates, though. They looked amazing.
Heads up check your dollar trees mine had freeze dried fruit! probably a better deal if you can buy somewhere in bulk but for those like me who can do just a little at a time its a good deal.
Fruit from China? Nope. I lived in China. Unbelievable heavy industrial contamination of air, land, and water. Rich Chinese eat only imported food. Check your labels carefully, please.
Ya dollar store not a place to purchase food.
Yeah ! Their freeze dried strawberries are Awesome ! Its just a really small package though. But, mmmmm.
thank you for your 2 cents however i have pirchased and eaten dollar store food for a very long time with no problems. I can appreciate that you have your reasons as to why you dont purchase there however if that's what one can afford comments like those should not stop people from prepping 😊
@@vivianp5962 they are good and perfect for my husband to keep in the vehicle or my purse if he has a low sugar episode
Thank you I loved this one. I’m in Canada it’s different prices at Costco for sure and also different products. I’m in lockdown in Ontario so no Costco run for awhile
I paid $3.99 a pound for the beef cubes today in Texas. I am canning them right now. I bought the 13 lbs of oranges for $9.99. Fresh vegetables are $1.00 to $2.00 cheaper.
Central California. Ground beef is the same price. Charmin was 21.99 three weeks ago. Carrots were 5.99. I’m going to be going again this month I’ll check the prices again then. Thanks for the comparison!!
Thanks AP! I haven't been to Costco (or Winco) in many months, and really miss the in-store shopping experience so really enjoy the ride-alongs with you, Mr.Tom, and Southern Boy Prepper. I just shop at a local Grocery Outlet every month or two that is a 5 min. drive away, in and out for fresh things as I have a lot of food preps already. Hopefully things will be better by next fall. Family and friends drop off huge bags of potatoes, onions, apples and oranges, etc. so I'm set! I continuously dehydrate spuds and apples. Still busy and can't wait to get my small gardens started outside for veggies and medicinal plants! God bless our great community, always.👵🙏💖💐...yeah, Kerrygold's is the bomb!😋
Cash and carry is a good place to get lettuce, carrots, celery, mushrooms, etc... Not everything there is a good deal but if you have an Idea of the cost of things you can save some money there.
It was bought out by Smart Foodservice.
Love the Kerrygold butter too!!! Good prices on the dairy products and eggs, comparable to the prices in Texas!
Well in Spain, one dozen of regular eggs is at 2€, and the potatoes are at 0,75€/Kgr, and the milk is at 0,75€/l ...
Some of these prices are within pennies of what we pay here in Oklahoma. But some are much higher.
Hope you're ok and being safe. I know there are some earthquake issues in Alaska and California right now.
I pay$4.79 for a 60 oz jar of peanut butter at my local Walmart. Don't have a Costco in my area.
I just got pots from Macy's clearance for $49.99...they had a few sets of really nice pots original retail $169.99 and up because i think they're closing some stores.. :( so even with shipping, they would be a deal.
Macy’s online always have good deals, most of the time for me anyways
I enjoyed getting to go shopping without spending a dime. 😄👍 I'm itching to prep more but am trying to keep spending down this month. Have to confess that I bought some Augason products thru your Amazon storefront. The Apples were a great price. Keep prepping, everyone. Get ready for anything. Stay safe & God bless. 💙
FYI- AP group-
just noticed Amazon has the Augason Farms Banana Chips 2 lbs 1 oz for only $9.98 that's 45% off WOW.
Augason Farms Buttermilk Pancake Mix 3 lbs 4 oz is also on SALE on $7.32 it says out of stock but you can order & it will ship when becomes available - jump on it ya'll.
I have noticed that the shelves at the front of our store are not stacked as high. I can now see all the way to the back of the warehouse whereas before I couldn't.
A.P. I'm glad you got the pomegranates! They are so good for you!
We don’t have a Costco in our area . The only thing close to something like a Costco we have is Sams Club. The nearest one we have is about 75 or more miles . We do have Walmart. It’s really not the same as Sams club. The prices on some of your items isn’t a whole lot more than we are paying in Ohio . The fabric softener in a container that size could run anywhere from $8-9
That food saver and bags are the same price but in Canadian funds. Wow
Texas has cheaper than these. Thank you for sharing. Makes me feel blessed that I can still afford to buy. Happy 2021.
I watched a YT review of those Kirkland pans compared to an All-Clad pan and, though the guy loved his All-Clad, the ‘tests’ he put the pans through...the Kirkland set won. It wasn’t a sponsored video, just done out of curiosity.
AP, I just have to say, I think your videos are good medicine.
When you were looking at the foil, I saw you had a big endcap of my beloved Kirkland Parchment paper!!!! We haven't had it at my Costco in TN in over a YEAR!!!! Their parchment paper was thicker than anyone elses I think. I'm buying an off brand now. It's thin and the roll is only 50 sq ft. I also see that you don't have the Kirkland brand roast beef in a can anymore. We haven't had that in probably 3 years here. The last time I got some was on their website. I bought it by the case when they had it and that was the last time I've been able to get it at a reasonable price. They have people on Amazon and ebay that sell it for double or triple what it should be. It was really good stuff. Keystone is okay. But, that Kirkland brand was the best canned meat I've ever eaten. Our prices here have gone up drastically on EVERYTHING just about.
I bought a different brand of butter than Kerry gold. So disappointing.
Don't say that lol I just bought a different brand than kerrygold too.I hope I'm not going to be disappointed.
Thanks for the shopping trip.
Thanks for taking me to Costco!
Boneless skinless chicken breast here inTexas is $1.79 this week on sale but normally $1.99 lb at HEB.
I am honestly in shock at how expensive your fruit and veg are!! 6lbs/2.7kg of carrots for you $6.99 here in Wales UK for just over that amount of carrots it would cost £1.59 in tesco! £1.25 for a pomegranate here!
Good review. Here in Newton nc.. sams club prices are somewhat cheaper. Like 2 something a gallon of milk..50 lbs long grain rice 17.25.. never been to a Costco before.
OMG! I cannot BELIEVE how expensive your produce is.
Good morning Alaska!!
Alaska prices is outrageous lol
I paid $3.00 for (2) head's of Lettuce at Giant here in Lancaster, PA!
$2 for one head in Maryland 😕
I paid $2.50 for 2 heads a couple weeks ago here in WI
THUMBS UP! btw.................I got some sticky rice and we are hooked!
Cool video. I love the shopping videos from other countries.
Costco’s best deal is their fully cooked chicken for 4.99. Definitely a Loss Leader for them.
Prices are a little higher than here in Illinois, but not bad. You actually have many more organic and unique products than here. I assume it's because you are essentially on the West Coast, and that's where most of the organic products come from, and it's actually easier and cheaper to ship products from California and Washington to Alaska by sea, than over land to Illinois!
We don't have a Costco in Arkansas it Sam's clubs the price are going up and the shelves are starting to get empty. I don't get to town very much but I noticed there were not that many trucker on the road
The prices there in Fairbanks is just the same here in Canada. The food saver at my Costco is about $140.The only thing is when you do the currency exchange it’s almost double.
Love this type of vid. We only have Sam's Club where I live, but prices are comparable, except for produce is cheaper in Arkansas. 😊
Our 25# bag of flour at Costco is $6.29 up from $5.25. Our store doesn’t carry the 50# bags of flour.
Seems if one had a big box truck, it would be worth traveling down to Washington to buy major food supplies. I'm sure the savings would at least pay for the gas.
I like shopping with you Thanks !!

My man I saw those croissants, they are so dang yummy and fattening. Milk here in Washington state 2.59 a gallon, steak roughly a dollar less per pound. Might I suggest Winco for canned goods like chili and my personal favorite corned beef hash. Also like 35 cents per can for Vienna sausage.
Pomegranates are my favorite too! The ones at Costco are big.
The fruit and veggies are double or more what I pay in Colorado. Pomegranates were 1.99 each last week. 10 lbs of potatoes is 3.98 Lettuce is .99 a head. But even here prices are going up. They have gone up more on convenience foods, meats, and canned/dry goods.
I get bulk ionized salt at Winco for 26 cents a pound!! 8 # oranges 5.99, but they weren't sweet at all. Disappointed. Russet potatoes run 3.59 for10# at Aldis. Lettuce was 1.40 last week. Our milk has doubled in price.
