- I interviewed Bill Fries aka C.W. McCall for my book Crashed the Gate Doing Ninety-Eight back in 2004. He was a pivotal person in my research and an all around good guy. I speak to my interactions with him and the interview I did on the 28th of March 2004. Bill died of cancer on the 1st of April, 2022 at the age of 93.
If you are interested in getting a copy of the book, please order it here. You can go through Amazon but they keep 90% of the author's royalties.

We'll catch you on the flip side, Bill.
Those old home bread commercials were wildly popular in Midwest in early 70s. I was a little kid, but my father was a PHD college president, he loved and would quote those old home ads.
I did order your book via LuLu. August 1991, I saw the multi projector slide show with CW McCall audio in Ouray, CO. (They were washing the hot spring fed swimming pool out that day.) I've also have taken a tour of Chip Davis' American Gramaphone studio. Those days, knock on the door, and they would let you in. Any Idea who has the masters to all his songs???? Every once in a while someone comes up with a copy of a jingo he did in his early days that needs to be collected. Seems there is no clearing house. Sad. 😪
His music about area were he lived. I wish family would release pretty music area.
Is your book in print now, if so where would you suggest I buy it? Thank you, and I enjoyed this video.

I would love to hear that interview. Thanks
