Guys, this thing sound great! Especially those lead tones and with that boost, it’s easy to switch back and forth from rhythms and leads.
I love that these types of pedals are being made. I prefer the simplicity with easy-access knobs over the processors that seem overwhelming to program.
And personally, I’d rather have just a few awesome amps tones over hundreds that you have to scroll through.
THAT SOUNDS PRETTY DAMN GOOD!!!! LOVE THAT PEDAL MANUFACTURERS ARE EXPERIMENTING WITH NEW IDEAS AND TECHNOLOGY!!!!!
My Revolt Guitar shipped this morning from Sweetwater! Thank you, Alan Reyes. Now to wait till April or beyond for my Yamaha Revstar! 🎅🎄🎸🤘🤶👍
Excellent demo and great playing! Nicely done Two-Notes and Sweetwater!
I have been waiting so long to try this thing.
Wow! ReVolt does it again. And a great video too, thanks for sharing 🤘
I just got one of these from y'all a couple of days ago. I can't believe how good it sounds!
Mine is on it's way and I can't wait to start playing with it! This thing will solve so many issues for me as a home recording artist and amateur live player with a band (usually at gigs where we can't go loud.) So excited!
Let us know how it is bro
@@davidramos4317 it's been an excellent experience all around. I've tried it straight to the computer, to the amp, with head phones, on a PA with our band and it all works flawlessly! The tones and feel of playing are outstanding and I've been playing a lot more lately because it plays so great! I've previously had a Le Clean which was already a great step up for me but this Revolt is definitely in a new league if you ask me!
Also, the ease of use if you come from fiddly amp modellers with their 45+ parameters hidden in menus and patches, is such a relief! It's really what you see is what you get. Want more boost, dial it in and you're set!
@@beethatrue6635 its landed on my pedalboard because it sounds that good really. The built-in IR sounds very useable but I did buy a CAB m + to have more tonal options. And with playing around with the latter I realised that the built-in IR would be more of a back up or for playing with headphones. I would not use the built-in IR live. For home recording I basically go straight into my interface. With the wall of sound plugin putting in the finishing touches I have been able to get tones which I previously wouldnt be able to get and the setting up of the sounds has been dead simple. Haven't played this much guitar in a long while
@TimOost just FYI - there is no built-in IR in this unit, it has just a regular analogue cab sim, which is essentially just EQ.
I love Two Notes. I have a stereo pair of Torpedo Cab M plus and a couple of Torpedo Captor 8s. I am excited about this ReVolt preamp 3 channels plus boost is perfect for me. I pretty much use my 3 channel tube heads the same way.
So good! Justin playing his butt off too!!!
Finally this thing starting to surface
He's really a great player. Really rockin that thing. A good player really makes a demo that much enjoyable. Also, i got curious with that jem
@@TheRamsberg I think it’s a good demo but seems intentionally short. With these kinds of products I think it is difficult to assess without really personally spending time with them. It seems like a new and updated take on products like this and curiously reminds me of Tonelab which is more Vox voiced, but more focused and modular so this will integrate nicely with the other stuff we have these days I really like it in principle and if I wasn’t already happily down the Synergy path would seriously check it out.

Using the 4 cable method, I'm having issues getting my pedals to sound the same as I do when the Revolt is engaged compared to when bypassed and using my amp (Marshall JMC 2000 through a Captor X). Any advice on how the signal chain would look using both modular (chorus, reverb, delay, etc.) and more front end types of pedals (wah, boost)? The wah and boost pedals do not sound good when the revolt is engaged on any of the 3 channels using 4 cable method so I can have access to both the Marshall or the Revolt without losing pedal tone quality?
That Flower JEM though🙌
Finally!!!! Great product... And the playing is killer.
Great Tones and an amazing Jem Guitar.
Sounds very impressive!
Cool new editions well done Justin.
That crunch and US lead channels sound killer. Lots of harmonic content and chewy quality, from what I can hear anyway.
I wish people would stop including analog/filter cabs, they always sound like junk. IR's/real cab or go home.
Might still see about buying one of these though. Would be cool to compare the Marshall and Soldano tones with various sims I have.
So far I'm liking them but still on a search for a super smooth Distortion? Is there any such thing as one? I got close with 1 sound in the Boss Pocket GT.......still looking .Think Alan Parsons Project and the Distortions his guitarists use...... Great video Sweetwater!
Sounds great, nice a compact, what's not to like? Though you did play more than two notes in the demo.
🤣
Now shipping and there is stock availability!
That’s great news Justin! Glad that my post got your attention 👍
Congrats!
I hope so I preordered forever ago
That Jem tho 😮💨
I would like to see more on software download, and install, as well as cable connections.
i am little bit confused....so can i send a cab sim preset from the software to the cab sim out of the unit? or the cab sim out of the unit has a fixed sim?
It looks cool.
My friend
to get the top audio quality and definition of the modulation how is the connection between eventide h9 and the preamp made? in the 80s/90s with rack systems the line mixer was used by connecting the tube preamps with the multi-effects in parallel.
I still own own a massive rack with line mixer's... it weighs 150lbs and barely fits through the door. You did notice i used the switchable FX loop? This rig weighs about 5 lbs total and sounds very close to my Soldano XR88 and rack effects. If you've never used an H9- the converters are a huge improvement from 30 years ago.
the midi capability is very very cool.
Ross from Two notes here! We are so glad you like it - if you have any questions about this, dont hesitate to let us know!
@@RossDaviesTwoNotes Please consider a lower gain version for us 385 million people who like Fender/Vox/Mashall combos... all those church ambient guys, all us straight up ambient players... we need this but more focused on the clean stuff or historic/natural stuff... well... fender/vox. You are really cool and the engineer style explanation of everything was great. You are a phenomenal player as well.
@@John-e4p1x Thanks for getting back to us and noted! Consider this fed back to our development team! :)
Amazing. 💯
Ok so there's a real tube running at high voltage in there, but what's it doing? There's 3 separate channels, and a stock Plexi would have two just for the preamp, not including phase inverter, and a hot rodded Plexi would possibly have even a third tube added. That's not including the other two channels this device has. So is there some kind of switching so the tube goes between all the channels? Is the tube at the front of the signal path so your guitar hits the tube then whatever channel you're going into? Or is it at the end of the chain as a sort of post preamplifier stage? Is it split and one half of the tube at the front and one at the end? This thing sounds pretty good but the tube seems a bit gimmicky, especially with the light behind it. They should have just ditched the tube and the analog cab sim (which we didn't get to hear because analog cab sims suck) and either left it as a 3 channel analog preamp, or thrown in some sort of bare bones IR loader, maybe just one or two slots to load IR for going direct. It's not an all in one solution if most people are going to use an external ir loader pedal anyway.
5:39...That delay. Is that a factory setting on the H9?
My live rig for 10 years has been an Eleven Rack & TC Electronic G-System connected via 4-cable method running straight to the mixer via stereo XLR outputs on the Eleven Rack.
Could I swap out the Eleven Rack for this and essentially do the same thing, straight to the mixer?
Hi, Justin. Yes, the ReVolt could replace the Elevenrack in that setup. The main difference would be that it doesn’t have stereo outs so as long as you’re okay running your rig in mono, this would work great.
Thanks for your interest!

Do you remember what IR was loaded into the Cab M? Thanks.
Friedman Greenback DYNIR
Seems more "simple" than the Simplifier! Any thoughts on how they compare?
Did you find the answer?
@@SergeiVlassov Nope!
Sweet !!!
Tell us that the in built cab filter is great….. but don’t spend 10s letting us hear it….. hmmmmmmmm
Let's be real. Analog cab sims sound terrible. They will never sound as good as an IR.
@@Leopold---1320 I agree they have a certain…….. charm!
So they want you to buy this $400 pedal Plus a cabinet Sim pedal. That's the catch. So it's not a complete solution as he said. Sorry nobody is using analog cab Sims anymore. Everyone is using IRs. If it doesn't have IRs in it it's junk.
It’s not a deal breaker for me. I have IR pedals already. But I must admit that I thought we could load IR’s onto the pedal. Time to go rearrange my board!
Because good analog cab Sims don't exist 😂
I don't understand why you are not using the XLR out or at least demonstrating the XLR out with cab sim direct to mixer?
Me too, defeats the purpose demonstrating what a product actually sounds like :(. However one of the channels here does an a/b, internal cabsim with an actual amp and it sounded pretty great compared.
I just purchased Nux mg 30. That's all I need at home. I'm digging it Man. 😎👍💪🎸🎸💯. $300. Good deal 👍👌💯. Heck I can even play Tiny Tims. Tip toe thru the Tulips. 😂😂
How did you manage to midi control the reverb stuff by switching charnels ? Can we do the same thing with the cabm+ ? When channels switching it would also change the cabm presets..
Rockin 📻🎼🎶🎸🎸
I thought only the balanced xlr out could be cab sim switched. The 'out' output isn't affected by the cab sim switch?
Hey Lewis, thanks for your message, hope you’re well. The CAB SIM switch enables the inspired by Slash 4x12 sim output to be applied to the BALANCED and Headphone outs. The unbalanced out never has CAB SIM applied.

If I already have a delay and reverb in the loop of my tube amp, can I still place this in the loop? If so, where would I place it and would it work properly with the other effects already in my loop?
Hi, crsantin. The ReVolt Amp Sim isn’t really meant to pair with an amp like that. It’s used to go direct to a recording or FOH setup so that you don’t have to have an amp on stage. If you’re going to have an amp on stage anyway, something like their Captor product might make more sense for you. Just depends on what you’re trying to accomplish.
Thanks for your interest!
Charlie Davis, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1320, charlie_davis@sweetwater.com
at 8.02 with all the leds off, what is playing?
That’s the Victory crunch channel. As soon as you engage the Revolt in 4 cable method, you’re bypassing the amplifiers preamp. When you bypass the Revolt the amplifiers preamp is active . It adds 3 additional channels to any amplifier that has an fx loop.
Great playing. Like watching a python attack the frickin guitarneck.
Does the British crunch go up to 11? It’s definitely a dealbreaker if it doesn’t
More than ‘11’ - more like ‘22’ 😇
@@JustinBryantdotcom That's 11 louder, isn't it? 🤘🏿🤘🏿
Is the boost channel also a midi message? If so, is this per channel?
I mean clean no effects but when boost on a reverb?
Crunch channel no effect but when boost on a delay ?
Thanks
Hi, Emanuelassies! Thanks for your question, I’m not clear on what you’re asking however. Boost is controllable via a MIDI cc message externally. The ReVolt doesn’t have any time domain effects onboard, so any preset combo with another device has to be coordinated via how you dial in the connection between the two devices.
Please contact us direct with other questions as you have them!
Robert Williams, Senior Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 2371, robert_williams@sweetwater.com
Yes, when you engage the boost it sends a different midi message.
How well can it take a germanium fuzz pedal though? 🤔
Do you have a list of MIDI commands that it takes? I'd like to know what's switchable, so maybe I can figure out how it'd work with a Cerberus for a full analog drive + digital modulation.
It's in the manual...
What about a zoom 50 in the send and return, would it work?
Hi, gauloiscalifornien! Thanks for your question. The Zoom MS-50G Mulitstomp is a great option for effects in the loop of the ReVolt. Would be a great compact rig!

I was afraid that it would be shown like this - with the Cab M, but not with the internal cab-sim. bummer
Ross from Two notes here! Stay tuned on our socials tomorrow for Cab Sim demos galore! :)
@@RossDaviesTwoNotes looking forward. If its good enough and sounds natural/warm then it is the very good solution for going direct into FOH. My HX Stomp even with their latest cab sims or very good IRs still leaves something to be desired. It is serviceable but not inspiring at all for me. Thx for the anwer.
@@wolfhorsky Not a problem at all - if there is anything else I can help you with, please dont hesitate to reach out!
Good idea but it sounds thin and harsh.
No noise gate? How noisy is it?
This thing has only been on preorder since January
June- but they're in stock shortly... they arrived today.
Can it work as a direct imput?
Ross from Two notes here - it sure can! Let us know if there are any other questions you have!
How is the Cab M hooked up here? Line out from revolt or in the revolts effects loop?
At the end of the chain
how to change the tube?
Is there a way to have the boost always active...? Having to always double tap the channel could become annoying... Otherwise this is a killer unit...
It’s firmware controlled - and configuration is however you want it!
You have three pedal options: default is boost off… but you can assign a boost as always on or ‘last state’
The instructions explain.
They really should have had the proper impulse responses all in the one box
You read my mind. The CAB M fails because of it's lack of MIDI & the ReVolt fails because of it's lack of proper impulse implementation...
@@DMan-si4de that’s why I will be giving this a miss
It has a cab sim in it.
@@John-e4p1x everyone knows analog cab sims are crap compared to IR
Great review! Are there Multichannel preamp Alternatives that you can run in 4CM that could compete with this unit soundwise!? Im looking to enhance my amp, any suggestions that would help me much, thx
Hey, Musik! Thanks for reaching out. The ReVolt is a great preamp pedal so it definitely stands out and it has a lot of range. Whether you would prefer another pedal mostly depends on your taste and what kind of tone and features/effects you want out of it. I would recommend checking out the Victory preamp pedals as well if you’re looking to compare it with some alternatives.
I hope this helps! Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions, too.

This is an extremely cool pedal, and great to see the engineer explain it... BUT there NEEDS TO BE A FENDER/VOX/MARSHALL version... for the 385million people who want that combo.... Vox...... and not SLO. who 900,000 players want. Hopefully they do this.
This is brilliant but I'd choose different amps. For cleans: orange, for crunchy rhythms: marshall jubilee and for lead I'd choose a EVH stealth.
Does it work with bass
There's a bass version
Can't wait for the Revolt Bass demo 🤩

Nope. Still showing preorder on Sweetwater’s website. The release has been delayed twice already. Seriously thinking about ordering something else from Sweetwater. Very tired of waiting for two-notes.

Can you run it into the clean channel of an amp or is it meant for a frfr or a cab
Great question! Ross from Two notes here - you can run it into the front of your amp but if you have an FX return, we would advise connecting the output to this. Then you would have the ReVolt's Preamp and your amp's poweramp + the colouration of the cab you are using! Additionally if you do have an FX send / return on your amp, you could try the 4 Cable Method to add ReVolt's channels to your amp head! :)
@rossdavies4744 so let's say no amp head or anything. You can run this straight in to a 2×12 marshall cab? Do I have to worry about the ohms?
@@GuitarBailey Thanks for getting back to me. You couldn't run it straight into a 2x12 marshall cab unless you had a separate power amp; however it will work fine running it into an active FRFR cabinet. Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with!
@RossDaviesTwoNotes during the demo for sweetwater what was that configuration I'm just really impressed by this gear but don't 100 percent understand the proper setup as it was intended to be
@@GuitarBailey Great! No problem. The signal chain in this video was the ReVolt Guitar with the Eventide H9 inserted into the FX loop. The ReVolt was then connected via the 1/4-inch output into the C.A.B. M+. A really awesome compact fly rig! Let me know if there is anything else I can help clarify for you!
What's the headphone output impedance?
Just read the specs, it is 40ohms. Heh, unlucky. Especially with all those in-ear-folk trying to use it on the road.
Update: TwoNotes support said that they have actionable free mod that should fix this for anyone interested.
no usb for daw capabilities...could have been so awesome.
Direct out to your DAW! I see no problem! 😉🎸🤘👍
Does anyone know if this has a noise gate?
Hi, John. The ReVolt doesn’t have a noise gate built in but one can be incorporated very easily. You can put one between your guitar and the ReVolt, or if you want to get out noise from the distortion channels, it could be inserted in the FX loop of the pedal.
Thanks for your interest!

Wonder if this is the Le Clean, Le crunch, and Le lead all in one box or actually a new thing?
Completely new- ground up design... very little in common.
He says no but I hear all three in one box. I have the lelead and leclean . Not bad but I prefer the Strymon iridium. Just with the iridium had a high gain channel.
I can't understand why they didn't builtin dyna ir on this unit, huge mistake.
Because this is all analog, dynirs are digital.

all analog tube sounds better than the synergy
Sounds muddy to me the ENGL SOUNDS BETTER
Which engl you refer to?
This is a bad demo. You spent most of the demo using other products, and then didn't let us hear the DI output even after talking about it. Not to mention it doesn't sound particular great, very muffled and without presence.

Just another thin, scratchy and boring sounding alibi tube pedal. Nothing for me.
It sounds great!! Bluguitar amp1 mercury is just as great very similar but I think amp1 sounds a little better!
But it actually sounds fantastic out of the victory idk
Agreed. Love the Amp1. Of course, this is far too early to judge. First demo and all. I'll reserve judgement until some of my favorite channels have run this through it's paces.
