    I remember when this episode premiered, I was just scratching my head wondering where Skinner got that whole 'Boys are better at math' thing from. I don't remember that ever being a thing.

      Yes, I’m not sure where that came from either! 🤔

      Probably the biological fact that males have larger brains than females. Keep in mind, though, that brain size (particularly volume) does not constitute intelligence; Albert Einstein had a smaller-than-average brain, and his intelligence was because some parts of his brain had more mass (keep in mind that mass is different from volume) than average.

      @@blankblankness2971 Einstein was also dyslexic and is thought to have been autistic, so his brain was certainly wired differently from many. He was a very talented person who also had a learning disability and a possible neurodevelopmental disability. A lot of people still can't tell the difference between disabilities and a low intellect, so I would shove Einstein at them, because no one can deny he was very intelligent. It's awful how many people can't tell the difference, actually. It's ironic because people with dyslexia in particular are more likely to have high cognitive abilities.

    I have a feeling that Skinner’s sexist statements that males are typically smarter than females may have come from the scientifically proven fact that males often have larger brains than females. It should be noted, however, that a larger brain does *not* constitute higher intelligence. I’ve seen people use an example saying that elephants have bigger brains than humans, but nobody’s ever seen an elephant ace a calculus exam; I’m going to go off a different example from an actual human. Albert Einstein is famously known for developing the theory of relativity, and many people have wondered how he was so smart. Einstein’s brain was smaller than that of an average human, but some of its parts contained more mass than average.

      That’s right! Good point! 👍

      Well, Einstein is a better measure than elephants, anyway, because their brains may be proportionate to their bodies in the way human brains are. Elephants have much bigger heads than humans, too. They are fairly intelligent creatures who are also fast learners, but that doesn't mean they have a human's cognitive abilities.

    You know, I really loved the joke on here where Homer is saying. All the things men invented and he gets punished.
    Oh why did women have to invent sleeping on the couch?

    3:43 The philosopher John Locke said that dancing should be part of a childs education. I think he's slightly right. It builds coordination and moving responsively in time with others.

    Love how the woman who was supposed to help with sexism ended up being ultra sexist by acting as if women and men are a certain type of person and asserting that they must want certain things instead of believing in them as individuals. I see a lot of radfems do this sort of thing. I think it technically qualifies as misandry?? I forgot what the definition of that is, but whatever she's doing, it sure is annoying.

    To think this episode seemed absurd when it came out, but sadly now you do have a lot of people who think stuff like math is "oppressive", which is a very self-sabotaging ideology, how are you going to learn if you dismiss the subject like that?

    So calculus is the culmination of geometry and algebra, etc… to find trajectory of the planets… but I can apply it to billiards/Pool because of the balls are spherical(similar to a planet)…

    • @SchoolPrincipalReacts
      @SchoolPrincipalReacts  8 месяцев назад

      Yes you are right! Sir Isaac Newton came up with it because the math of his time was not able to calculate the orbits of the planets, so he made his own. We know it as calculus today.
