I saw this in a recent video. The guy's first reaction was to hug it, it cooed & chased back after him when he stood up & wiggled its arms for another hug. Most adorable robot I've ever seen! 🤗
My dog scared a burgler away at 4:30 am and then patrolled all the rooms before going back to bed. She also was very protective of me when I was pregnant. My husband works at a vet clinic and she greets everyone and lays next to dogs that get surgery which comforts them. Never taught her any of that. Way better than a robot.
She is talking about usefulness as how a tool like a hammer can help you to do something. A dog, this robot or a painting in your wall can make you feel better but they are not tools
How sad that in this digital age, people ignore companions in front scribbling on phones and when they loose them, instead of looking for a new companion they create one based on their comfort, a dog would bark and poo, a child would cry, a gf would ask for attention and more.....robot go to your charging dock, Alexa shut her down for me, etc etc
How are dogs not useful. Have you ever heard of the support they give emotionally and the will they have to die for you if you are in trouble. I can tell you haven't been around a dog before.
One of the most important things about pets and companionship is experiencing loss. At first I thought this would be ideal for people who don't want to go through that process. The more I think about it, the more flawed I think something like this is. Loss is as important to a relationship as the hugs and happy memories. When you strip that from it you lose an aspect of humanity to the product which is what it wants to simulate.
This thing isn't about the perfect experience. It's about making you feel good. If I was the target audience, I wouldn't want to deal with all that bad stuff.
@@ofekharary3175 I worry that's the exact problem. Instant gratification without ramification. Like eating anything without worrying about what you're intaking. If this begins to take off and evolves to one day where we have a realistic immortal tech pet, there won't be a reason for kids or parents to want to raise a mortal animal where they do have to experience tedious things that come with the job of raising something. We as a society, especially the younger generation will lose an important aspect of humanity that many of us learn at a young age because they had to give love to a pet and eventually lose that said pet.
If you have some time, I believe did a report at the growing number of Sony Aibo robot dogs getting complete funeral treatments from their owners, once they finally stopped and couldn't be repaired. Those owner felt the same kind of grief as losing a pet or a friend. Nothing lasts forever, so I can imagine the same for this adorable little thing.
Dude... this is up there with those real life looking baby dolls for childless women on the list of creepy things. And let me be clear... its not the doll or the robot that is creepy, its the fact that people will actually "love" an inanimate object that is whats creepy...
_Lovot will remember that._
Lovot : a telltale game.

"so it's not super useful, but then again, neither are your cats or dogs." I was not expecting that burn 😂

Realists statement ever!!
It's like an immortal pet.
Only thing is, youre mortal
I'm pretty sure a dog can last longer.
One hour battery immortal pet? Also if you somehow kick that bulge on head it'll probably cost you another $1000 to have the immortality back.
this thing will beg for a hug after the apocalypse
Till the batteries ruin it and it no longer works.
*no, i need it more than it needs me.*

My dog is plenty useful thanks
How dare she say that our dogs and cats aren't useful
I don't think "useful" means what you think it means.

@@david.ricardo you can teach a dog to do useful things and not be just a stuffed toy.
Still cheaper than fancy dog or cat breeds. And waaay cheaper than a kid :D

It's like having a pet without the mess
“Just like your dog or your cat”😂😂😂

I calling it now: A Silicon Valley episode with Richard trying to kick one of these things across the room and failing.
Damn, imagine all the parents who lost their child and they see this.
That's hella scary if it creeps out of you in the middle of the night😑

Kevin Surjanto no dogs and cats don't cost 3,000$
@@nkob6666 but you have to pay for food, the vet, water, etc.
Why does it look like it has a Camera lens on it's head? And how the hell are dogs and cats useless?

Whenever you need a robot to keep you company, you know you've failed as a human being.
yooujiin well if you have one of these you definitely haven’t failed financially.
Yep, that would describe many hard core fortnite and CS Go players.
Then I haven't completely failed as a human!! 😂
Whenever you need a robot to keep you company, you know you are smarter and more INTJ than most human beings.

I want one because I'm so lonely
3000$ is way too less of a price for companionship
At any given day dogs are the best companion a man can have they are super adorable!! 🐕🐕🐶❤️❤️😍
Dogs also get sick and die
my dog doesn't need to go to a charging dock every hour. I think this is pretty useful "feature"
And it pees on your carpet and barks at random people.
But your dogs need to go out to poop way more often ;-)
gotta have that ❤️❤️❤️❤️
who knew their was a market for paid companionship 😏
Excuse me my cat has a 5G network.
