Sub'd your channel. I bought a Fullerton Fallout about 3 years ago before I moved to France, so it would be more than 6 months old by the time my container of goods finally arrived, saving me more than 30% import duty. I restrung it with La Bella DTF flats. Loving it! Woo hoo, or should I say OMG! 😉
I have completely fallen in love with flatwounds! I have them on my P bass & my jazz bass. Got tapewounds on my Epiphone Les Paul bass that I really dig too. 👌🏻
I have La Bella DTF flats on three of my short scale basses, DTF Mustang thru-baody flats on three other shorties, and Ernie Ball cobalt short scale flats on my Wattplower Mk II. I wanted something a little brighter for the Wattplower. They're not La Bellas, but I like them on that bass.
What a fantastic range of tones! Thanks for the great videos as always, Ed! I know there are hundreds of factors to take into consideration when deciding on the tone settings, but I wondered which one was your favourite with this lovely bass of yours?
This is coming from someone who does not get along well with flatwounds... THIS sounds great! So far, the only flats I can leave on my basses without wanting to take them off after a few days is EB cobalt flats. But what you are doing here sounds awesome. My favorite was with pick in single coil mode with tone full open. Although I love G&L basses, I haven't given all that much notice to the Fallout (I don't like that the body design makes it hang "bigger" like a full scale bass), but after hearing this and seeing the two-pickup version of the Fallout bass at The Bass Place, my ears are perked up. Might have to check one out.
Great demo! How is the tuning stability? I need a good live bass. The OMG mode sounds like it would be able to replace my EB-0. Awesome playing. Love the flats!
I have the same Labella s.s. Flats on my Fallout Tribute (thanks to your piece on it) and I love it. I didn’t think I would play it as much as I do with the flats but when I’m not playing my 5string Jazz the Fallout is being played. If you have time to answer one question Mr. Friedland: Have you played the Tribute LB-100? I want a P-bass and as much as I would like an American it just isn’t in the budget at the moment so I was wondering how the Tribute LB-100 stacked up to the American LB-100? Thank you! 🙏🏽🎸🙏🏽
I haven’t played a Trib LB100, but in general… they’re all good, especially for the price range. I play Tribs on gigs all the time. It’s certainly a safe way to see if the model is what you want…
I like this gentle growl. A little beast.
It sounds great with this strings. Very nice demo Ed. Thank you ;-)
Deep Talkins are the BEST flats around.
after Thomastik Infeld...
Thanks again, Ed, and hello from our new channel! 🙏

Aye they are the best strings for playing bass
Flatwounds rule!!

With that tone it will rock any strings!
Thanks man. I just asked reddit of anyone can recommend a short scale.
Amazing timing for this!
Ed! Hooray! :) peace, carry on

I have that exact Fallout Tribute and string combo, it's my favorite band practice bass. Thanks@

Kewl! Is the drummer using a metronome? Kidding! Hey, how about a fender mustang JMJ video?
Bassilicious 🤍

Hi Ed, did you ever notice a dead fourth string in any flat wounds set?
Once, but they weren’t LaBella.
@@BassWhispererTV Thanks!
Is this a shortscale bass?
Yes, 30" scale.
