Lowell Fulson was one of those truly great R&B pioneers who were enormously influential on the great stars of the genre while being themselves often overlooked and underappreciated. If you've ever wondered who wrote "Tramp", a hit for Otis Redding and Carla Thomas, it was Lowell Fulson!
