Theory time:
Rin was diagnosed with a sort of rare disease that needed an urgent treatment but it couldn’t be done in the city where he lived so he had to move somewhere else.
Alas, Kaden who can be considered as a sociopath (but not diagnosed), fell in love with Rin during the time they were together.
But Rin, who didn’t wanted to worried his friend about his health, decided to keep his feelings to him and faked not sharing his feelings for him which was a lie.
The years passed and Kaden psychological state decreased, making him more insane and love sick for Rin by the time passed, ready to do anything for him.
So...he killed himself, he wanted him for himself whatever the consequences, even if he had to murder someone for it.
His wish finally happened when, in high school, he met Rin again but the boy disn’t remembered him cause of the side effects of the treatment that caused severe memory loss.
So he began his life like he never known Kaden which was misunderstood by him and when he saw the girl with him everytime, his obsession for Rin increase and he killed her.
Someone saw her fell but none of the witnesses know who pushed her so the police came to investigate the case, not sure if it was a murder or a suicide.
But Rin knew it was a murder as he saw Kaden in the stairs, assuming he came from the rooftop.
As he wasn’t completely sure, he wanted to hear the truth from his own mouth so he hid him in order for the police to not find him as they were searching for a boy without a clear description of him.
After that, the guilt tripped Kaden and he decided to confess his crime to Rin.
Kaden indeed plotted to murder the girl but it seemed she decided to committed suicide after being rejected by Rin (who was gay) and that hit her hard.
When Kaden arrived to the roof, he saw the girl jumping so he tried to save her, surprised about her action and she revealed everything.
Alas, as she was writing her suicide note when Kaden arrived, she still had her pen on her hand so she took it and stabbed his hand, making him lost his grip on her and she fell.
Kaden was afraid as, even if he had the intent of killing her, he wasn’t really ready to seen her do this.
So, thinking he killed her by not being strong enough to keep his grip on her, he decided to come to Rin to tell everything before coming to the police and being clear about this.
Considering he didn’t directly "murder" her, her death was considered as a suicide.
But he still had to follow therapies about his sociopathic state.
The shock of the news awakened Rin’s memories on Kaden and they finally confessed their mutual feelings for each other, living peacefully together.
