Thanks for the comment (especially for the comment) and for the view. The Yadkin paddle was truly a gorgeous river to experience. Good luck with your paddle.
@@ennislowery5925 Ennis - Thanks for the view and especially thanks for the comment. Really enjoyed the Yadkin last year. Hope to start publishing videos of my 2024 paddle of Contentnea Creek (eastern NC paddle) in the next couple of weeks so encourage you to subscribe for notifications.
I did the same trip 20 odd years ago, enjoyed it as much as you seem to have. I still run the lower Yadkin but with a small jon boat, the trip up to Boones Cave in the fall is spectacular!!
@BAWhite-rf2bs - Thanks for the views and for the comment. I’ll have to try for a fall trip. As you suggest, I’m sure any one of the sections of the Yadkin would be gorgeous in the fall.
Good trip, nice geologic features along the way. Amazing the number of various balls found. I'm sure the current was a big help to make mileage until the upper part of the lake. The take out's and launches were a bit rough on the bottom of the kayak, especially the steps and the rocks. Glad you had a good adventure.
Pictures of rocks LOL, I did think about you Steve, wondering if you would enjoy. Yes, current does/did help. And, the bottom of canoes and kayak did take a beating. My fiberglass skills are not great but am getting better at making repairs and maintaining.
Nice recap and unbelievable fishy looking spots. One of those ball pics must have strained your eyeballs. Be careful, you might tear something 😂. Thanks for sharing.
Another excellent adventure in the books! Really pretty river. I've crossed that 85 bridge at Spencer a million times. Been in the Spencer railroad museum but had no idea there is a huge train yard and locomotive shop right after the bridge towards the east.
Thanks for the view and comment. Wife spent a lot of time hanging out in Spencer while I was paddling. I need/want to visit RR Museum. Daughter now works in RR Industry. Worth checking out for sure.
Love mom laughing at the kayak flipping over. I did really like the slideshow (except for the creepy baby doll). I think that tied it together well and highlighted some beautiful places.
Way back in day I had a jon boat that we would put in at Muddy Creek and fish to Idols Dam we caught many white bass and other species, I guess I am tied to Yadkin traced my ancestors back to 1785 and they all lived on Yadkin.
Thanks for the view and especially for providing a comment. I see that your comment was posted on the last day of my Yadkin River paddle. I see that you are a musician and have a love a music. For me, trying to find appropriate music is always a challenge. Point is - I hope you, as a musician, enjoyed some of my music selections and I would solicit your suggestions (I am always looking for something new). So, if you have any music you might suggest, I would certainly appreciate it and consider for future videos.
I have to tell a story. During my college years, was on a paddle of a new river for me, in an isolated area, and I see a women’s head in the collection of stuff in front of a log. I’m thinking of what to do, years before Cell Phones and GPS. Clearly a young women, I touch the head with my paddle only then to see it was a mannequin head - toy for young girls to play applying makeup and doing hair. Super realistic with the river residue on its face. Thing is, I had this happen to me a 2nd time. 2nd time the mannequin was not quite as realistic so I figured it out as I paddled up close. But 1st instinct was the same, I’ve found a dead young women floating in the river. So - when are we headed paddling?
What a great paddle. Ill do part of it this summer.

Thanks for the view and comments. You were the mention of 2:25 min/s of “buddy gets on me for not fishing.” Yelp, soo many pretty fishing spots.

Mom laughing was just soooo typical. And baby doll, we’ve been counting Friends of Wilson, but that is 3rd really creepy find over the years.

My 1st overnight camping river paddle was in a wooden fishing boat. I remember sitting my drinks on the center live-well.
1785 ties - proud heritage.
Very Cool trip :)

Great video. Love the recap. Video was not too long. Agree with the other commenter that the slide show was great except for that creepy baby doll!
