Hestia will always love Bell and Bell, while he may not return her romantic feelings, is unquestionably loyal and considerate towards her. They consistently respect and care about each other (even if their intentions may get lost in translation from time to time). It's fun, goofy, sweet, and emotional.

This whole episode especially this scene hit me out of left field with its ability to convey emotions like fear of mortality and losing loved ones. Not something you expect from essential a harem show.

What I got is that Bell doesnt want Hestia to feel the same pain that he went through as being left behind, but i also feels he dislikes being treated with the "we know better aura" of the gods haha like when they pat his head. A part of me thinks that Bell was also thinking about how Hestia could move on and lastly forget him, as his existence is ephemeral. He was hurt that the goddes that is everything for him, could in some time forget him too,and that he is just a little time for her, but to him is his life. Thats why I sensed. I think they love each other beyond the romantic bond. And that was clear with Hestia as she asked to take care of Bell to Aiz too. I think she is adorable and a virgin goddes who has never found interest in another person, so thats why she is so intense with Bell.

@@TK-867 You're welcome. Aiz being hard to figure out is actually intentional as anime mostly follows Bell's POV, and he's completely clueless as to what she's thinking most of the time. This creates a hilarious contrast between main series and Sword Oratoria that makes her seem so much more human just by uncovering to us some of her inner voice.
And as far as jealousy is concerned, the only thing that can be said so far is that she's not really looking at Bell that way. (slight spoilers ahead)
Later volumes start giving us some insight into what Aiz is really thinking, and it seems she can get jealous after all. After realizing that Bell is mostly surrounded by women she started subconsciously mimicking their behaviour as they got close and personal to him, finishing it up with calling him a jerk out loud
@@Kelibarth lol maybe Aiz isn't fully aware of her true feelings for Bell. Before I shiped Bell and Hestia, but after watching sword oratoria, Aiz should be the one. Even though the anime showed she was more interested in gaining information on how to level up faster. But moments like when they danced, when she held his head on her lap, or felt disconfort when the twins were flirting with Bell makes me think there is more.

I wish they had shown it all. Hestia really understood his pain of being alone after a loved one’s death, his fear of doing it to her, and soothed them both. She clearly demonstrated why she is the goddess of hearth and home. And it definitely fits with Bell, considering his past, to be in her familia. He’s at home with her.

It showed not necessarily "romance" love, but just a "genuine caring" love that Bell was just afraid to have with someone of the divine, like family, because of their time that is so different. Some people might see a romance love, but what I saw was a love like what Black Widow and Hawkeye have in the MCU(if anybody watches the marvel movies or reads the comics), where they love each other, would do anything and sacrifice anything for each other, that they would even die for each other and will always worry and comfort each other whenever and wherever 😢💗😢💗😢. Now THAT is a beautiful type of love😭😭😭💗💗💗💗.

The anime is based on a series of very well written novels. The anime itself tends to cut out a lot of content, so it does have a problem as an adaptation itself. That being said, it still has many great moments and I see it as a companion piece to the novels. Basically just nice seeing everyone moving instead of just text on a page.
wait for season 3 or read the novels and THEN start watching. people complain about season 2 because they dislike that it wasn't non-stop fighting and instead some character development in between. season 3 is also kinda going to put the entire premise of the established world on its head AND expand on it like crazy. just hope it will be 24 episodes.
