Taking that big piece that goes side to side is such a pain to put back on. Lol!! I have a “new to me” 2017 Rancher. I did my first oil change on it with Honda GN4, took it out for my first ride, and now going to put Amsoil ATV 10W-40 synthetic. If yours shifts a little hard, adjust your clutch. It’s very easy and makes a huge difference. Also change out your differential oil with a good synthetic too. Thanks for the video
My dad was a mechanic teacher and said stay away from fram filters so I always have. They did a test once because chevy engines ran longer on ac delco filters. The result was the engines were wearing out at idle because of starving for oil with fram filters. Dad has been right on lots of things in my life.
Great How-to video and very helpful for me. Just got my Rubicon (Basically same engine)and will need to get to the oil at some point. Also helpful on how to get the panels off so I can wire the added winch.
Get you a battery tender and connected it to the battery and plug it in when not in use this will keep your battery charged so you don’t have to charge it every time you are use it
Sir, ebay - Amazon use that right oil and filter. Stop the guessing your killing me!!!!!!! Did you ever think to just look in the manual first ??? But I appreciate you taking the time to do this vid. Great picture and your speech is clear and easy to understand without any -"ahhh's,like, like". Thank you.
I have never put any oil filter in auto or my 3 ( 4wheelers) without oiling some in filter and rubbing rubber seal with oil. Plus be careful to not overfill the crankcase! 3 quarts will over fill my 2011 420tm
just did mine today. How much oil did you use? Cause mine almost used a gallon which was over 3 quarts what the book says. Also drained near a gallon of oil. So im curious if youre getting this too? My dip stick is spot on so im confused..
Can you use synthetic oil in there after the initial break-in? It really flows easy during the cold months... You can't tell with newer vehicles what's allowed... So much for KISS.. lol
Synthetic is recommended after break in. Catrsol gtx is perfect for break in. Then use a castrol edge 10w30 with a puralator filter you will run awhile. Mine had 287xx miles on odo never a issue. Even stock battery. Honda made me a believer
There is no difference between 10W30 and 10W40 in the winter. "10W" means it acts like a 10 in the cold. the 40 is heavier in the summertime. Unless you really rev it and push it to the limit, I would just use 10 W 30 year round.
@@stuntcardriver Yeah. I always use the Honda 10W-30 synthetic oil in my 2016 Rancher and use the Honda oil filters. I only have 130 hours on my Rancher but it's used as a tool on my homestead. I use it for hauling dirt, gravel, firewood etc... in Summer and for plowing snow in the Winter here in northern Vermont.

Thanks man! Just used your video to change the oil and filter in my TRX420TM!!

It has a tire gauge in the tool kit under the seat!!!

I used 3.0 quarts. The book says 2.9 quarts after draining oil and oil filter change. Do you have an extra oil cooler?
I use the Same Valvoline Atv oil
Was your coolant low? I just purchased a 2019 and after my 100 miles the coolant was low.
No. I but I wouldn't be surprised. It probably had some air trapped in the system.
@@stuntcardriver I've got one same thing after it was refilled not a problem. I don't know I think it just because of the break in period.
@@lloydbrown350 my 2016 was low too topped it off after the first oil change no issue
Mine was low on a 16! 4yrs ago
They all lerch ahead. Yes covers are a big pain!! Sorry, you are going to miss 4 x 4.
Do a fuel pump and fuel filter change video.
Why if it still works lol fuel pumps only need replacing when they don't work anymore lol
I run 5 to 6 psi front and rear
I have a slow leak on the left front tire.
stuntcardriver That’s not good
Speak français svp

Yes, I believe 0w-30 can be used.

Why would you just run 10w40 then obviously it’s better overall due to ur statement
@@RedRadar876 sport bikes recommend 10w40. That's what I run in my rancher castrol edge 10w40 and a puralator or Honda filter
Just use 10 w 30. Or check you manual I use only Quaker state in my 94 Honda
Do you feel like you missing for 4x4
In snow it will just spin and get stuck. Other than that not really.
2 wheel drive is WAY more fun on a wheeler as you can break it loose and have some fun. Unless you are doing work with it :)
Matt K you can do that with 4x4 if you put it in 2wd
jiffy lube can do it in 30 minutes or less or it's free.
Tack weld the bolt and you’ll get free oil changes if they can take the bolt off
Pull that junk frame filter off that honda you will thank me later
Next oil change I am going with a factory Honda filter and synthetic oil.
