Suprised to see more channels covering the monsterarts Godzilla line. I definitely prefer the Godzilla over Kong when comparing the 2 but either way for a Godzilla figure fan I'd recommend to go for the Toho versions instead but this is a good King if you don't have the QC issues.
I love this figure but I agree it shouldn’t have these issues for the price. The left fist and both feet were a bit loose but I fixed them by applying super glue to the sockets and letting it dry before putting it back on and it worked. I recommend it for the leg on yours.
Monsterarts line is it's own scale and not meant to go with other lines. POTA line are normal sized primates. He's not meant to be a "normal" sized Gorilla. He's meant to go with Godzilla, king Ghidorah, Mecha-G, Rodan and Mothra and even the SH Figuarts Ultraman line.
Great review man! However, gorillas are much bigger than I think you think they are. If one were to stand up straight, it would be around 6 feet, and on it's knuckles would be about 5'6". Plus they're much wider and girthier than humans
Ordered this from BBTS and got it on my birthday (July 2) so now I have Kong or Monke, but if I do find problems with it, I'll do what I can to make it work without having that feeling of chucking it into the garbage. LOL Still a great review, dude.
Hey if you want to tighten your joints you can get some mod pod and spread the mod pod on the joint socket and wait till it drys up and then you can put the ball joint back on
All the positives go out the window for me if it’s falling apart and especially loose joints. I absolutely hate loose joints lol also it looks too glossy. I feel neca is still the best kong 🦍
I was like you the first day I got mine just give it a chance and then you'll learn how to navigate through the joints or you could just loosen it so it's not so tight and end up like spinal zilla's Kong but give it time cuz you'll eventually learn how the joints work and all you have to do is put the upper side piece up the ball joint around the legs therefore it's not so loose but it's not the greatest figure like up all the time but me personally I would give it a 9 or 10 out of 10
what’s with this figure? so many QC issues not only the standard release but the exclusive edition aswell, i got the Event one and lot of joints are tight and other are really lose, idk

Mine arrived almost perfect. The joints pop only if i use force, it moves really smooth, the paint has only a really small dot of white on a leg (its barely visible tho) and the accesories pop off/in perfectly. I had extreme anxiety cuz of the joints before it arrived lol.
You think it has something to do with the heat? Its been crazy the past couple of weeks. Some of my plastic weapons have been getting bendy lately and i have the AC on all day.

I also have this figure but I'm not sure is it because of your lighting, it looks brighter coloured compared to mine. The whole head in mine is just the same dark brown tone all over while yours looks to have subtle brown gradient. But I also have issue with mine, some joints are way too tight and the left hand pops out too often. The legs on mine are fine though.
With Legendary’s Godzilla SHM have had years to perfect that figure. Im sure after Kong’s next film appearance they’ll have another crack at his figure.

Not sure if I will get Kong but I got the Zilla and mines hands pop off way too easy too. It had a few other issues but overall really love it. Debating on this Kong though and yours has the worst quality control issues I have seen yet on a review yikes!
Depends what you wanted him for, it's the best scale vs Godzilla. However if you don't care about scale than the newer Neca King Kongs are amazing for the price.
The crappy joints on this figure are just not up to par with past SH Figuarts/Monsterarts figures. I have the same problems with my Kong with his legs and arms falling off. Honestly it feels like a knock-off figure and it absolutely baffles me they put this figure out with this many QC issues. Glad I’m not the only person having theses issues. I’m returning mine when I get the chance. *Sidenote* I also have the Godzilla from GvK and I’ve had zero issues with it. I have no clue what the hell went wrong with Kong. Poor design I guess.

As someone who preordered it and then cancelled it I’m still glad I did but you made me hopeful for a upsized version maybe from figuarts or a KO company. Also you properly referred to him as an ape and a gorilla. Furthermore the comparison with the GOAT Neca Kong and Neca POTA figures is exactly what I wanted to see. The Jr. Assistant dropping some knowledge about it being a like a puzzle was awesome as well. You two make quite the team. Keep up the great work. 💀🦍💨

Kong works like a figuarts because if you look at the hips it has joints to make it split and most of the articulation is just figuarts

The left arm keeps popping off on mine and I can’t seem to get it back on properly. So if you rotate the arm it pops off. Pisses me off
I bought this figure as a army builder for my gorilla grod display. I love this figure even with all the flaws.

Mine has a floppy upper torso. Have to pose him just right to keep it in place. Figure looks good, but has some significant issues
Shiny fur looks bad too. Bandai should feel ashamed for putting this out but we know they don't.
