lune78 To my knowledge Al is actually a friend of Britney Spears and this was at the height of k-fed mooching off her fame and her going to crazy town.
There was this guy who hated me back in 8th grade named Joel. He invited me to his birthday for some Reason. I gave him the Kevin Federline CD for his birthday. My work there was done.
i wouldn't be surprised if he really does hate the guy. i found the interview to be rather offensive and insulting. for how much he bad-mouthed the guy throughout the entire thing, it was kind of unsettling that federline wasn't there to defend himself. I've seen numerous other "interviews" where he "interviews" people, but this is the most disturbing, unsettling one I've seen... i'm not saying that federline was right in how things went between him and brittany, but i just find it incredibly unfair how he never called out any women who've likely treated guys as badly as he might've treated brittany. besides, maybe some of the rumored fights or quarrels between him and brittany weren't true. maybe she was being nasty to him as well, but maybe the media tried to twist it around to make it look like he was the only one who acted bad in the relationship. what about women who've wrongfully taken advantage of guys in relationships where they were with them just because of their money? what about that? why didn't al go after those women for that? i find it sexist and unfair. although i don't think federline acts like a very good person and that there are many guys and women who act better than him and are better than him as a person, and although i think rock, hard rock, glam rock, grunge rock, heavy metal, and screamo heavy metal are better than rap, i still think this "interview" went a little too far who how much he was bad-mouthing him the entire time. yes, federline might have been wrong for how he was in his relationship with brittany, but than again, there are women who were wrong with how they were in their relationships with guys. by the way, if federline was a "complete moron", maybe al was as well. also, did you see the movie "two fast two furious"? in that movie, the main bad guy had a girlfriend who lounged around by the pool all day without ever working, so technically, she freeloaded. what about that? but with how movie makers always try to treat the woman too damn good, she, despite being with him and living with him for a large portion of the time, nothing happened to her.
steve kosman I think, if he is angry with Federline, which we both agree he probably is... it doesn't really have much to do with how he treated Brittany. My impression is that he is irritated that Federline made a name for himself as an "artist" through picking up on Brittany. I think...as my own guess....it irritates him that Federline didn't earn his musical chops the hard way.
steve kosman I'm almost certain he doesn't have a genuine hate towards federline. He might dislike the music, but I don't think he despises the man. He simply plays up the malicious part to add another side to the joke.
lusteraliaszero I side with lus....szero. I mean, OK, this video is quite offensive and I was surprised to see that after those I had seen before but the Kevin guy is really a git and Al indeed points that out very well, especially the eternal issue of people with no talent achieving "fame" or whatever.
As much as I love every single one of these fake interviews, this one is my absolute favorite because we get to watch Al utterly destroy this horrible man.
Little context here : At the time Kevin Federline was the Nickelback of rap. He was literally known as "that guy who scored Britney Spears once" , while he was everywhere self proclaiming himself as the saviour of hip-hop. So yeah, even MTV knew that guy was a tool. Go figure.
Yeah. Seeing as Al is respectful to most artists, Kevin must have struck a major nerve with him. I don't know too much about Kevin Federline, but I know most people tend to dislike him, and from my limited knowledge I can see why.
Every time I watch his fake interviews, I'm always impressed by his talent making the usual atmosphere of celebrity interviews - awkward, artificially cheerful, trying to be sincere while knowing perfectly of the whole insincerity - into a lively, realistic, dynamical conversation, that, ironically is made from a technical manipulation (technically no less insincere than the original interviews themselves sometimes...)
That is an awesome comment. I have autism and it is very hard for me to describe the characteristics of peoples behavior and the details of settings like you just did. I get really frustrated. Would you please describe a Katie Couric interview? I saw her on House of Cards when she interviewed Mrs. Underwood and I know I didn’t like the way she did it but I can’t describe why. I can’t describe the way she acted or asked questions or the way she didn’t ask questions, but somehow was still able to get answers from people.
Eh, Al trolls people in these interviews. He used outtakes and edits to make Avril Lavigne look incredibly stupid to a comical level, while also mocking Eminem to the point that he ended the interview with Eminem punching him in the face. Though, this was definitely more trolling someone Al did not like, rather than the usual way of trolling people for fun.
Weird Al may have been savagely bashing K-Fed in this "interview", but let's be honest: K-Fed deserved it. Plus, when Weird Al laughed at the idea of there being a second album and a second single by K-Fed, he was absolutely right.
He's never had a second anything. He's only had one.... album single live TV performance video and "tour" P.S. He only got to play one concert of the entire leg. After that one show at Webster Hall, all others were cancelled.
Hilarious. I love that this video is experiencing a resurgence especially with Federline on 60 seconds trying to smear Britney’s name after she regained her freedom.

And Weird Al recently topped the charts. He's still a house-hold name and has been since the late 80's. Makes me laugh a little comparing the talentless rapper and the man who created his own art form.
@ Well you see, the video features both Weird Al and Kevin Federline. The OP implies that no one even knows who the latter is anymore. And the comment you replied to is pointing out that the former is still a household name in comparison. Hence, it has to do w/ both men's fame.

It's the only one that's like this.
"I mean, after 9/11 and Katrina, hasn't this country suffered enough?"
I don't know how many readings he did of that, but the cadence of the one that made it into the video was dead on perfect.
LMAO
"How does it feel to have a closet full of wifbeaters and no wife?"
"F for fail?"
ROFL-best Al interview ever!
Remind me to never get on Al's bad side.
I didn't even know Al had a bad side to begin with, but DAMN
Even nice and quiet people have their anger... Kfed would make anyone angry. No talent hack!@@NoelistAvenger
Like pretty much every comment here, I've never seen this side of Al before, and I kind of love it :P
This is hilarious, this has to be my favorite out of the interviews I have seen so far.
I wonder if this would be Al's way of living the dream of every real musician on the planet when K-Fed was on the scene. Think about it.
This interview is probably the best of the series! LOL great stuff!
Wish he made more of them more like this I barely survived 😂💀
I cannot think of another time that Al Yankovic was publicly, purposely, and genuinely mean, but boy did this guy deserve it
Kevin Who?
And Weird Al recently topped the charts. He's still a house-hold name and has been since the late 80's. Makes me laugh a little comparing the talentless rapper and the man who created his own art form.
Federline.
@ Well you see, the video features both Weird Al and Kevin Federline. The OP implies that no one even knows who the latter is anymore. And the comment you replied to is pointing out that the former is still a household name in comparison. Hence, it has to do w/ both men's fame.
@ That's the point. Federline got famous for marrying someone and now he no longer is. Hence, comparing the two people in this video makes the commenter "laugh a little".
@ Al is comedically trashing Kevin's music career. Hence, the comparison is simply for amusement.
I think I'm going to fall in love with Al now. *sighs dreamily*
Al apparently doesn’t like Kevin, just like the rest of the world. 😂
Yep 🤣😂😆
Wow this is gold. Absolute GOLD!
