Same, I had Folklore songs running thru my head all day and now TTPD chorus'....especially The Alchemy and the Prophecy, and Whos Afraid....' I can't make it stop!!
You can't take her too literally, she uses a lot of metaphors. She also creates characters, example: the media says she's a serial dater, collecting men, etc. So she created that character in Blank Space and may be part of this character as well. Again, the Netflix special can help with understanding her.
yes i'm realizing that now, some are satire based on what the media portrayed her. I'm going to watch the Netflix this weekend hopefully that'll give me a bit more context
I think its not on Netflix anymore😢😢😢 and I missed it (i was like "Oh the rep tour, thats gonna be epic... im gonna watch it later bc i have all the time, its a netflix special" and then it was taken down)
New here, loved this reaction! One thing you'll notice about Taylor's discography is that it is a rabbit hole of different sounds, lyric styles, and genres. She really has SUCH a variety of different music. She is also NOTORIOUS for leaving Easter eggs in her songs, sometimes tying songs that were released several years apart to each other. For example, "Dear John" is a song that she wrote about John Mayer when she was 19. It's definitely got more of that "storyteller" country-Taylor vibe... but then she wrote "Would've, Could've, Should've" when she was in her 30's, which is her perspective on the same relationship as a fully-grown woman. It's crazy to listen to those two songs and realize how much she has grown over the years, both personally and and as a songwriter. "Would've, Could've, Should've" uses a LOT of religious imagery to tell the story of the song. But when you get around to listening to those songs, I would recommend listening to them back-to-back, so you get the full context in one sitting. Ps - I also recommend listening to "Betty", "Cardigan", and "August" back to back to back. Three separate songs that tell the story of a teenage love-triangle, each from the perspective of the 3 central characters. ❤
Regarding turning her back - Tay uses every inch of the stage. She wants everyone in the stadium to feel like she is singing to them. She is very aware of the cameras and that is why it often feels like she is looking directly at you/the audience/the viewer at home. And her productions are like a film or a Broadway show there nothing is left to chance - she maps everything out years in advance and is involved in every aspect of the recordings and stage shows.
My husband and I were at this tour as well as the Eras Tour. We’ve been in nosebleed both times, but I 100% believe there’s not a bad seat at a Taylor Swift show. The experience is amazing!
Taylor turned her back to _that_ camera . She produces all her tour films, it is intentional. The stage has two extensions into the audience, and she uses all of the stage. With all the screens and rigging, the stage is bigger than a Boeing 767. The venue for the tour film is the AT&T stadium, Arlington, TX.
10 minutes in - yes, she had two of those relationships when she was really young and inexperienced. She dated John Mayer (who pursued her then messed with her head). Her song Dear John is about him. Then she dated Jake Gyllenhaal who was also 10 years older than her. Jake tried to hide the relationship. All Too Well is about him. The original released version was a regular length song, but she revealed in an interview that the song was originally 10 minutes long and she finally released that version and a short film video of it years later. Some of her songs, as others mentioned are not autobiographical, but they are based on the media or fan perception of her. She never confirms or denies if the theories are correct. Taylor's pen is fierce - she's got bars for days.
Haven’t heard all too well yet, but it’s been recommended quite a bit so I’ll be sure to prioritize that. I’ve seen nightcrawler and that’s about it didn’t know he was dating Taylor
I like that, for a person new to Taylor Swift's music, you bring a lot of insight and personal references. Not knowing that she dated Joe Alwyn for 6 years, including Reputation and Lover album and tours, its insightful that you picked up on it may be a toxic relationship. Like a drug sometimes people fall in love with people that aren't the best for them. Great catch.
thanks Jonila, yeah i'm learning as I go, but yes, most is from my personal experience. I have a lot to catch up on lol. I really appreciate the kind words!
My 23yo daughter saw her last summer at Levi Stadium. She has liked her since she first around in 2006 (my daughter was 6). Her ticket was $306. And no, they weren't crappy seats either. Also, the majority of her band has been with her since the beginning. For abouf 20 years. Amazing actually
My 23 year old daughter saw her twice at Raymond James Stadium last summer!! Her tickets were around the same price. Fist bump to a fellow Swiftie Mom of a Swiftie adult daughter. I love it so much. It’s so fun, isn’t it? ❤❤
@@Seahorse0418I went to the first night at RayJay! Got a text from LiveNation about ten days before the concert with a code offering me seats at face value-we were less than halfway up the bottom section, directly opposite the side point of the diamond, for about $150 each. ❤️ I just wish I hadn’t already been so exhausted from working all day-HUGE mistake not to take the day off beforehand. 😆
I'm loving your reactions! Shared another you did and will share this one too. You need more followers and likes because you're really understanding her music 🫶
So good!! there’s a video of Don’t Blame Me transitioning into Look What You Made Me Do on the Eras Tour. It’s insane. I’ll see if I can find the link.
dude, this is the Reputation album; what the media sorts are getting wrong about her. This song is depicting a persona the media/gossip rags made about her (love crazy bimbo). For her description of that persona, see her 2015 solo performance of Blank Space at the Grammy museum ( ruclips.net/video/p1Zt47V3pPw/видео.html ) A lot of the first part of the album (co-written with Max Martin and Johann Shellback, as was most of her 1989 album) resurrects the satire she brought up in the earlier album. Whenever a lyric suggests a rumor or people talking about her, it is almost always a parody. / "They say she's gone too far this time" / Underneath a lot of the songs, though, is her real life love for Joe Alwyn (a relationship that lasted for 6 years, ending in 2023). Alwyn is the love interest for Reputation, Lover, folklore, Evermore, and Midnights. I think the aliens/ bug people are her anxieties ---- she's talked about her personal insecurities in interviews for a couple decades now. Or, maybe they represent the critics?
I love you so much. Thank you for this reaction ❤❤❤. Taylor Swift is the music industry. Taylor Swift is the hall of genres. I like to see your reaction for more stuff of Tay Tay
She turns her back on the audience and faces the band, who is just above her head in the video. To highlight the band and focus the guitar solo. Some clips show the band and it makes more sense.
You got me with the “Another day another drama drama” lyric being stuck in your head as it’s so true! And you comparing this to Dirty Diana by MJ blew me away. I’ve listened to this song so many times and that never occurred to me but you’re so right!! The epic-ness of it all. As for the meaning of this song, I always took it as she’s been with other guys but suddenly found one that she becomes addicted to like you said: the dopamine becomes addictive. People shake and pace when they need a fix. It’s like using drugs as a metaphor for being intoxicated by someone. Whether or not this person is good for her is a theme….sounds thrilling but kinda toxic too.
LOVING your reactions and insights! Looking forward to more TS reactions (: the way you’re doing it by visual reactions to her live performance then breaking down the lyrics in the same vid is different than other reactors but I like it, it works for you!
So funny that you said you felt like you’re in church before the high not. People actually are chanting “take me to church” in this exact moment on the eras tour now 😅 And in her documentary she said that she wants it to feel epic and religious. Her, Max Martin and Shellback (her producers on this) delivered 😎
In the making of the song video on this song she specifically said she wanted it to sound religious. She always seems to have in her head exactly what she want the. Beat to sound like.
When you said church, I chuckled, this song is referred to as the take me to church song by some, including myself. There were only 2 really older guys, and they broke her heart, John Mayer, Taylor was 19, and with Jake Gyllenhaal, Taylor was 20/21, both guys are still dating younger women. You just repeated old media lies, Taylor, to date has dated around 13 guys in 18-plus years. Taylor is a diehard romantic and passionate person. She has never written sh!t about guys, unless they really deserved it, the song Dear John describes their relationship, he was definitely toxic, other young women, some of them famous has said the same about him. The song "All Too Well" is the song about Jake Gyllenhaal, the 10-minute version song and the short film will clarify everything. But Taylor does not breakup with guys for the sake of a song. For the duration of Reputation, Lover, folklore, evermore, Midnights (Midnights is when she and her boyfriend broke up) Joe Alwyn a British actor had been her boyfriend. So for 6 years, she was with 1 boyfriend, and they broke up early last year. One more thing, in case it comes up, the media portrays Taylor's fans as young girls, but actually Taylor's primary fan base are her age, 34, but she has fans of all ages (65 here) female and male and of all races. Great job.
This song (my belief anyway) is about finding someone who’s so amazing and captivating she’s literally obsessed with them and would give up and do anything for this person that she needs like a drug
Loving your reactions. Everyone is giving you suggestions how to approach this! lol. I think you should start with Reputation, it is the beginning of meeting and falling in love with Joe, the media cancellation, Kanye and Kim. A lot of these themes and the story continue like chapters starting with Reputation, then lover, then folklore/evermore, midnights, then finally ttpd. If you want to understand the context of the songs, then you kinda have to go back in order to go forward. She references older songs or incidents in her music. It’s not necessary to know ahead of time but it helps to know her headspace when she wrote it. TTPD is about the breakup with Joe (starting with reputation) and then falling briefly and stupidly for an old flame who seemed to love bomb her while her relationship with Joe was breaking down. All the phases of depression and finally acceptance & moving on is the anthology.
Unfortunately i couldn’t go to the reputation tour but i did just recently see her eras tour (she does this song there too) and let me tell you it is mpre epic when you’re there. Concert isn’t that expensive for original tickets but the resale ones go up a lot because of scalpers, Especially in america! (I’m swedish and saw her in Stockholm) and it’s sad that it’s like that. I bought vip tickets here in sweden for around 350 dollars and regular ones on top of the bleachers for like 70 dollars. But for now it’s only resale tickets available in america. So you gotta get lucky to not get to expensive tickets. I met a lot of americans in Stockholm because it was cheaper for them to fly to europe then buy resale tickets in the us. Also just found your channel and i love your reactions. Can’t wait for you to get into more of her stuff.
Not _all_ older guys; Joe Jonas, Taylor Lautner, Harry Styles, and Joe Alwyn are her age or younger; John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Tom Hiddleston were about a decade older (and she would have been the age of a college undergrad for Mayer and Gyllenhaal). Calvin Harris was a few years older, but she was mid-twenties at that point. Kelce is about her age now.
This is mainly a love song about her ex joe alwyn they were together for 6 years and she wrote alot of love songs about him in the reputation and lover albums
I have never understood the dancers' costumes so if anyone can comment I would love you forever! 😘😘 And for the cost of a ticket to her US tour, you can literally buy a plane ticket, hotel, food and tickets for a show anywhere in Europe. They have price controls on ticket sales/resells.
I read some comment people saying they represent flies and that the old Taylor is dead. But yeah I might have to fly out to Europe then, the states and Canada resell just about anything atm
Someday, if you watch the Reputation Stadium Tour movie, you will see the official footage of this song. I'm not certain, but I believe that this video might be intermixed with some fan footage (in order to allow the video to stay up for years without being taken down (?)) In any case, it is the best video I'm aware of for this song, and it is the one that fans generally recommend (so far as I've seen). Unfortunately, I don't know how to find the full movie. It was on Netflix for many years but is no longer. Hopefully it is, or soon will be, available to stream and/or purchase somewhere. The Reputation album is one of the two that do not yet have official Taylor's Versions. Most people are expecting Rep TV to be released in the fall (but Taylor is always full of surprises, so predictions are always sketchy). Also, when you watch the Eras Tour movie, you will see the newest version of this song, which is utterly awesome. There are Eras Tour videos of the song on RUclips but since you are probably going to watch the movie, you might as well wait until then to see that version. (The movie is 3.5 hours, so it's a bit of a commitment.) BTW: Taylor's music is often described as "diaristic" and "confessional" but there are also a lot of metaphors and liberal use of poetic license, so, personally, I try to ignore most speculations about "who's this or that song about?" Taylor never says (although she did leave clues in her first couple of albums before she grew up enough to realize it's a bad idea). Lots of swifties, however, have created a whole industry centered on speculating and providing their evidence. Not my cup of tea. In the Stadium Tour intro leading into "Ready For It", you will get some insights into the media frenzy that accompanied her social cancellation and Reputation Tour comeback. The Miss Americana doc will give a bunch more insights into that. (The intro was seen on screen by fans at the Rep concert.)
PS Please check out "Death By A Thousand Cuts" and "Cornelia Street" from the City of Lover show in Paris! Just her and a guitar, I think you'll be impressed. Thank you!
Great reaction! You really pay attention and have great commentary, please do more! I wish your sound was louder, but maybe it'd my old head. 🙂 Take care, thanks again!
New sub here for ur Taylor Swift journey, she’s an incredibly diverse artist, her fans have followed wherever she leads us because no matter the genre, she always delivers top-tier lyrics and passionate authentic performances. Btw: my other favorite artists are Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and Ez Mil for the very same reasons 🤘
She specifically learned choreography for this tour to clap back, essentially, at the repeated criticism that she can't dance. As amazing as the Eras Tour is, Reputation is where she rose from the ashes, not to be trifled with.
I think you should react to Look What You Made Me Do either live or video and then I will find the live performance where she does Don’t Blame Me and transitions into Look What You Made Me Do live at the eras tour. or if you have Disney+, you can find it there on the reputation era.
I’d suggest songs from folklore, this is my fav album of hers. There is a love traingle in the songs cardigan, august, betty and each song is from a different perspective. Cardigan is from betty’s pov, august is from augistine pov(the girl who james cheated with) and betty from james pov. It is really interesting. Some ofher good songs are my tears ricochet, exile, this is me trying. Evermore is second fav album and some good songs are champagne problems, tolerate it, no body no crime(fun storytelling)
Looks like I've got some serious homework to do. I'm not sure how I feel about a love triangle though-I can barely handle one love line. But I do love a good musical soap opera. Thanks for the tips! I'll grab my cardigan and tissues, and dive into the drama.
Plz react to her reputation tour performances, you can find them on a channel called Swift Leaks 2.0, there's a playlist of the concert performances. Plz plz plz do it!! I really love reputation and I love to watch people reacting to it
Mayer wasn’t a good outcome but idk if she’s alluding that guy. Sometimes it’s just a common thing.. she’s dated a good amount but it’s not worked out until Travis. She’s never used anyone bc she’s just too kind. She is always the one that’s been hurt. She and Harry Styles are still cool with each other.
Please do vigilante shit or intro + ready for it. Live versions for both. And try to balance your mic and music volume next video. Loving your videos and i watch them all day long!
a lot of recommendation for ready for it, I think this is what i'll do next. also thanks for bringing that up, i'll need to fix that asap. Puts a smile on my face to read your message
Adam and Eve reincarnated to Antony and Cleopatra reincarnated to Bonnie and Clyde reincarnated to Anthony and Heather. I was created from his rib, so we are meant to be together
Taylor takes the critiques by the media and owns and sings about them. She turns the tables. She's only dated 2 older guys. At a time when she was 18-21. Both were in their 30's at the time. Grooming? She's sick of being critiqued no matter what she does so she's flipping that critique back at them. That's what you think of me? Okay. Here you go.
lol I've actually tried to upload normally but got block from netflix, i adjusted the volume and it worked but i might have to find another way if the audio is ruining the vids, sorry about that.
Have you seen the movie Cry baby yet. Taylor is so Alison ..... please Mr. Jailer let an honest man go free. Check out the judge Churchwell in douglas county and tell me those judges arent the same person!!! Doubt youd fight me on that
I’m sorry but your inner monologue is no longer your own. Every live performance is equally as epic. Her videos are like mini films. You have so much yet to discover. Swifties will explain each song to you. You don’t have to try & figure it out.
Yeah, they make weird editing choices. Like going to fan footage right before the choir and her big belt. It's the best part, why would you go to fan footage THEN?!

I live thru them
Haha thank you, let me know if you have any particular songs you’ll like to see

I met a lot of americans in Stockholm because it was cheaper for them to fly to europe then buy resale tickets in the us.
Also just found your channel and i love your reactions. Can’t wait for you to get into more of her stuff.
ah okay so i might just keep my liver then, and make my way to Europe. Thanks for the kind words Bella!
Kelce is about her age now.
ah okay got it, thanks for clarifying that. so much I don't know about her yet, great to have you guys helping me out
This is mainly a love song about her ex joe alwyn they were together for 6 years and she wrote alot of love songs about him in the reputation and lover albums
wow 6 years, that would explain the passion. thanks for explaining Ree!
I thought they were cobras 😂
Taylor gave us some beautiful sensual dancing and then took us to Church!!
(The movie is 3.5 hours, so it's a bit of a commitment.)
BTW: Taylor's music is often described as "diaristic" and "confessional" but there are also a lot of metaphors and liberal use of poetic license, so, personally, I try to ignore most speculations about "who's this or that song about?" Taylor never says (although she did leave clues in her first couple of albums before she grew up enough to realize it's a bad idea).
Wow love the insight, I’ll definitely need to take a day off to see the movie. Really appreciate the help with all this.
dont blame me+look what you made me do Eras tour pls!! youll gonna enjoy it 😂❤ more power to you ❤
thank you, I'll be sure to check those out!
You should do Tolerate it performance from the Eras Tour. Actually maybe the entire Eras Tour, one Era at a time ❤
PS Please check out "Death By A Thousand Cuts" and "Cornelia Street" from the City of Lover show in Paris! Just her and a guitar, I think you'll be impressed. Thank you!
Ouuu sounds like my jam, will do!
Great reaction! You really pay attention and have great commentary, please do more! I wish your sound was louder, but maybe it'd my old head. 🙂 Take care, thanks again!
Haha it’s the mic, I need to by a stand so I can easily move it near me but thank you and really appreciate your kind words
Review Ready For It live from reputation tour
New sub here for ur Taylor Swift journey, she’s an incredibly diverse artist, her fans have followed wherever she leads us because no matter the genre, she always delivers top-tier lyrics and passionate authentic performances. Btw: my other favorite artists are Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and Ez Mil for the very same reasons 🤘
Thank you! And same I really been binge Kendrick since that whole beef with drake. I slept on his new album, so good
It is a journey. Good luck
New Sub. Swifty here. Great reactions.
Welcome aboard! and thank you so much
Also with her turning her back, I think it’s better in a side view where she’s pointing to her band because of the heavy guitar right there.
Haha that makes more sense thanks
Nothin like a good Taylor Swift ear worm!😂
She specifically learned choreography for this tour to clap back, essentially, at the repeated criticism that she can't dance. As amazing as the Eras Tour is, Reputation is where she rose from the ashes, not to be trifled with.
This is a fan edit. You should try to watch the actual Reputation Tour documentary.
Yeah I’m realizing this after 😞
Don’t blame me live eras tour 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Anytime someone brings up Dirty Diana I have to ask if you’ve heard The Weeknd’s cover of it? It’s incredible 🖤
I don’t believe I have but will most certainly check it out, thank you
@@ZEDZDead2 Yay! Thank you!!
I think you should react to Look What You Made Me Do either live or video and then I will find the live performance where she does Don’t Blame Me and transitions into Look What You Made Me Do live at the eras tour. or if you have Disney+, you can find it there on the reputation era.
That’s actually a really good idea
@@ZEDZDead2 oh good 🙌
I’d suggest songs from folklore, this is my fav album of hers.
❤❤❤
You can try to get a ticket for some of her European shows. Way more normal price than in US. Even with plane tickets and some sort of hotel.
When it comes to TS you should always keep the lyrics close at hand 😀
yup, definitely learning that lol
You have to watch dear John live from speak now tour
Good review, "Look what you made me do" next
Thanks Laurie, I’ve done the music video but not the live one yet
It’s a lot to take in 🎉
New subscriber here. I really enjoy your reactions.❤ Stay safe
Thanks and welcome
Plz react to her reputation tour performances, you can find them on a channel called Swift Leaks 2.0, there's a playlist of the concert performances. Plz plz plz do it!! I really love reputation and I love to watch people reacting to it
Okay, you got it. I’ll make sure to do that soon thanks Mabel!
Start with the reputation tour
Ok I’m looking so I’ll add I Did Something Bad video and the live from this concert. 😉
Just can’t figure out why people say she can’t sing or sings about ex boyfriends only. 🙄
Having closed captions on or pulling up lyrics is the best way to experience all of Taylor's songs for the first time.
Destiny💜💜💜💜💜
I was at Reputation tour and I think the outfits were snakes? I’m totally guessing but she had snakes as her theme due to Kin K calling her a snake 🐍
Can I have him back now??? Lol
Yes easter egg hunt buddy!!! Rep might be my favorite album but who the f can really pick a favorite? You'll start picking up on them quickly
Adam and Eve reincarnated to Antony and Cleopatra reincarnated to Bonnie and Clyde reincarnated to Anthony and Heather. I was created from his rib, so we are meant to be together
You only have one liver - please don’t sell it 😂😂
Ah but it regenerates, so he could sell part of it...
lol oh no, i wish i read this earlier 😂
😂 I thought the same thing too. You only have one liver. But you have two kidneys so you can sell one of those. Haha
And put your volume up a bit
lol I've actually tried to upload normally but got block from netflix, i adjusted the volume and it worked but i might have to find another way if the audio is ruining the vids, sorry about that.
You can’t get a ticket at any price. All are sold out, many with record breaking attendance
Theyd parallel with the faceless tortured poets from the fortnight video
Can u please react to ready for it + intro????? 1. youll love it 2. Well love it 😁❤
Her Man is Travis Kelsie of the Kansas City Chiefs
They are flies. Because the Old Taylor is dead
Review i did something Bad live from reputation tour
Okay don’t think I’ve seen this recommendation yet, I’ll check it out thanks
You seem to learn fast
Have you seen the movie Cry baby yet. Taylor is so Alison ..... please Mr. Jailer let an honest man go free. Check out the judge Churchwell in douglas county and tell me those judges arent the same person!!! Doubt youd fight me on that
The flies are because the "old Taylor is dead"
that make so much sense now lol thanks Jami
I’m sorry but your inner monologue is no longer your own. Every live performance is equally as epic. Her videos are like mini films. You have so much yet to discover. Swifties will explain each song to you. You don’t have to try & figure it out.
Yeah been getting a lot of the back story from the comments so helpful
try Kate Bush
nvr heard
Sell a liver
😂😂
it'll be worth it 😂
She is in love it's a drug. The others have been pest. She is in love and addicted to.her lover
Hey! I really tried to watch this, but you're very loud and the music is so low I can't hear it. Sorry. Not complaining, but just letting you know.
sorry about that, i'll do my best to fix it on the next
Pls back up your reaction by at least 5 seconds so you don’t miss following lyrics.
I really don't like EAS version, she drops to her knees at the wrong time 🙄
a few people have mentioned that, i'll try and find a better version next time, thanks for the heads up
@@ZEDZDead2 Swiftleeks is good
Yeah, they make weird editing choices. Like going to fan footage right before the choir and her big belt. It's the best part, why would you go to fan footage THEN?!
@@ladyvader139 right!!?
Your not going to rank all hundreds of songs lol
I'm trying to give you a chance. BUT you talk to much. And you talk over her singing.
