I lived in Lake county for years. Blue lake and then Clearlake for about 8 years. I hated having to leave but the winds of fate had other plans. One thing I truly miss is the pristine air and a night sky where you can lay back in the grass and get lost in all the stars.
My family moved to Willits from Australia when I was a teenager. At first, I despised the whole area. It was mainly because I missed my home. But there are so many unique and fun things to do in Lake and Mendocino counties. As an adult, I visit as often as I can. I love Lakeport. It reminds me a bit of my hometown in Western Australia. The park with the gazebo is one of my favourite places in California (Library Park?).
@@CheyenneBlue I love Blue Lakes, too, and all the hiking trails. I used to go to concerts at Mt. Konocti. That part of California is one of the most beautiful and tranquil places in the world. 💒
I absolutely love it here. A lot of the people that talk down about I feel are on some level blinded. There's always good and bad anywhere you go. This place has so many unique aspects to it that often get overlooked.
I’m new to lake county. I moved here at the start of covid, medical issues with the heart I stay away from the public. Omera has closed so I would appreciate update Also what video did you talk about a spa
It seems so many people come to the city of Clearlake and think they know Lake County. In the city you go in sit down and are entertained, in Lake county you get up go out and be amazed. Thank you for the Fair recommendation a couple weeks ago we had a blast. Seen you getting your hustle on.
Do you have any updated information on Lake County diamond hunting considering fires and droughts that may have left more diamond flats accessible? I have lived in the PNW most of my adult life and have always loved Lake County and originally tried to move there (hubby didn’t want to commute) … Anyway it’s a lovely day drive for day trip activities, and it’s beautiful with the mountain and water vistas
I stumbled across your channel and you do a great presentation on the interesting things to do in lake county. I'm a history buff, and never realized that Lake County had so many museums. I can't wait to visit some to all of them. Thanks for the great content. :)
Great video as usual. Thanks so much for the information. I see you have plenty of those that haven’t gotten out much. My daughter and her husband love it up there and don’t Partake in alcohol or drugs.
@@CheyenneBlue you know that is true right. I’d rather be up amongst poor people in Lake County that might be doing too much drugs and alcohol then in the city where are you have much more closer by. These haters looking down on Lake County probably live in San Francisco where you can’t go to blocks without running into some homeless druggies pooping on the street. Of course they could be from Napa County or parts of Sonoma County that think they’re better than other people. My doctor friend in Marin County says it was the patients that taught him about all the different subscription drugs that they wanted from him. God help us
I have found drug problems exist everywhere. Rich families poor families it can get to anything. Just add theres crime wherever you go. There is dark and light in all of the world you just have to know what you'll focus on.
I grew up in the end of Rodman slew we called a catfish Ali, and next to the Indian reservation on soda Bay Road, in the 60s and 70s. It took two people to fish he needed somebody to hold the gunnysack open for you, he caught a fish every cast no, I just catch snags😂
The only thing I dont like about Lake County is its hard to find people to meet thats trust worthy. It gets pretty lonely up here.. Theft is pretty bad too. Lots of tweekers and homeless people running around. . Lots of beatiful places to see though, lots of fun things to do.
I have a ranch down here in Sonoma county I raise cattle lake county is my getaway well not right now but the drought cuz I love to fish and I usually go up there with my boat but I've been up there in a while because of this dog gone drought grrrrrr
I took a walk to the park and watched a homeless couple argue. Then a friend of mine was going to fight the same homeless couple for smoking meth in front of his haircut shop. So what im saying is keep an eye out. The best things for me is the state park and the golf courses. At the park is a wine tasting that now does pastas. Im a cook so good food gets me.
My wife and i are thinking of moving after 7 years of dry drug infested Vegas life/land of the go fast reptile's - (we're from south central/L.A California, Windsor hills / view park ) - , thinking of moving to clear lake maybe🤷♂️. We found some homes on 50-75 acre's under $600,000, we want to grow Dank & food/a little farm, maybe a few animals. we want to live the rest of our retired live's under the stars 😁🤭. Literally under stars😁??
There's tons of nice properties under that price range :) I would love to get to know you and your wife more and help you both find the perfect place for you! My number is 707.413.8143 feel free to reach out!
Go swimming in the lake🤷🏻♂️ Let’s not mention the people there. It’s almost like the whole town is one big trailer park. The radioactive drinking water is pretty good tho it’s like a really good cleanse it gets everything out.
It's not radioactive /.- The issue that is present in clearlake is the Cyanobacteria which is found in most lakes. The amount that's present is based upon how much moving water there is, how much nutrients are in the water and how warm the water is. Because of global warming it's become an issue but it's a seasonal problem during the winter, spring and first bit of summer it's usually safe.
@@CheyenneBlue it’s not global warming it’s the pollution thats going into the water causing your lake to be one big algae bloom. Does your tap water come from the lake ? No matter how look at it the people that migrated there turned it to a dump. And the warmth of the water may be do to it only being waste high 🤷🏻♂️
@@CheyenneBlue waste deep is what I mean waste deep in waste. 😂 I only say anything because I think it’s funny this came across my thread. Lake county has to be one of the dirtiest lil towns in California. 60ft depth is a cesspool of stagnant water full of bacteria . It’s been like this for years and now it’s global warming? 😂😂 I’m sorry if I offend you.
I have made some research about phreatic water levels and its as an aquifer resourse in the Clear Lake and adjacent areas...my question is...are you married? ;-)

Hiking up Mt Konocti is pretty cool too. I can’t believe the place crash wreckage is still up there. Great views from there.

1. Go to the lake
2. Go fishing
3. Go hiking
4. Go to the gun store
5. Go hunting

We spent two weeks at Clearlake State Park. Fabulous time and breathtaking scenery.
Thanks Cheyenne I live nearby it’s interesting to hear the history
I like to go on drives through there from the valley just to feel like im in a completely different place. It gets monotonous down here.
It really just depends on your preference, it's still a beautiful place overall.
I am looking forward to our visit to Lake County this March.

Just stay out of the water and try to avoid the tweeker's! The surrounding area and camping is nice and there is plenty of great hiking too.
do the tweakers go hiking? :O
Clear lake is anything but clear. I don't even swim in it.
