How to make Chettikulangara Kumbha Bharani Special Konjum Manga/Konchum Mangayum| Dried Shrimp/Prawns and Mango Curry. This video is a detailed presentation of the recipe.
Kumbha-Bharani is an auspicious festival celebrated in different Bhadrakali Temples across Kerala on Bharani star(2nd star of the 27 stars according to Indian astrology) of Kumbham(7th of the 12 months according to Kollam Era). At Bhadrakali Temple, Chettikulangara in Alappuzha District, the festival is celebrated with pomp and glory. Most of the people in Chettikulangara custamorily prepare Konjum Mangayum at home to honour the divine presence of Devi. A legend is associated with this dish.
Ingredients (as shown in the video)
Dried Shrimp/Prawns a handful
1 unripe mango
Shallots - 10-12
Curry leaves -3-4 sprigs
Coconut - grated,3 handful
Turmeric powder
Salt
Chilli powder - 1 tbsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Green chillies -4-6, split
Coconut Oil - to drizzle
