Great or not, there was never going to be a 2nd season of the Acolyte. Just like Obi-Wan, Book of Boba Fett, Skeleton Crew, with Andor and Ahsoka only having 2 seasons. Don't you see what's going on here? Everything's cancelled, ended or ending. Skeleton Crew, Andor S2, Ahsoka S2 and then the Mando Grogu movie. What's happening after that movie? Big changes, that's what. KK is gone, John Favreau takes over Lucasfilm and then...an Heir to the Empire movie???
That Kathleen didn't show is telling. None of the other movies announced last year have start dates. They started M&G as an addon because it surely will be accepted more than the others...

I was interested to see where a Season 2 would have gone due to the open threads in the finale but it is what it is. Hopefully some version of the story can be picked up. Jeff on the latest episode of HM made it seem that KK wasn't going anywhere. If they do 10-12 then I think there is a high probability that Rey will have a kid.
I hate to say it, plucking a legacy character into a 6 part series is repeating the same mistakes they made with the Book of Boba Fett series. They have to focus on a really good story that is well executed by a competent director. Disney/Lucasfilm are having to compete with quality tv series like Stranger Things, The Boys or House of the Dragon that they have to do much better than those previous SW shows. Quality over quantity is the answer. Personally I loved Andor, the quality of writing and storytelling is light years ahead from the other shows, even Mando. Can’t wait for season 2.

Something no one is talking about...if from that business point of view, Acolyte was a failure, how can Obi-Wan not be considered a success? Obi-Wan cost half as much as Acolyte, and its finale drew 2.5 times more people. You guys at TRB are an exception, but the online sphere keeps telling me how bad Obi-Wan was, but in this case, the math tells a different story.
There was a lot of cringe in Obi-Wan but it had some great moments here and there. It's not like the cringe was going to stop us from seeing Obi-wan and Vader.

Right?! I found this episode frustrating. I love TRB, I really do. But they've spent years advocating for Solo 2 but the reason The Acolyte was cancelled is the same reason Solo 2 won't happen. The difference is John and Lacey - no disrespect intended - just didn't like The Acolyte, so they justify it.

Filoni and Favreau weren't even involved in the Acolyte. I never saw Solo cause I have zero interest in seeing it, but people threatening the actors and producers is inaceptable. I can't wait the star wars Goonies version in December
I don't hate everything since Disney and I don't love everything since Disney. Mandalorian revived my love for Star Wars after the sequels weren't as exciting as I had hoped. It's time for new leadership at Lucasfilm though. It's been overdue for a while. Star Wars is to good of a franchise to be in the place it's at. I hate how if you even echo "KK should probably be gone" you are called a toxic fan, among other things.
Ím amazed that Lucasfilm/Disney don’t develop a life action series based on the recent successful Vader comic. The Boys is based on a comic. I think it’s a no brainer.

Legends was never cancelled. It exists now the same way it always did, which was never a part of Star Wars canon. But just as it was decades ago, they are still stories for people to enjoy as they please, nothing has changed. - John
The biggest problem i have with Star Wars live action is that there is no consistency, each project looks totally different and feels totally different, the sets, the scripts etc. The only thing that comes close is rogue one and Andor to the original trilogy. If you watch Luke vs Vader and then the Acoloyte, totally different. You watch Marvel, stories are different yes but it feels like marvel the stories feel all connected.
Make Tony Gilroy script supervisor of all TV and film SW content to turn this significantly less than optimal track record of Disney SW completely around. And no it won't mean that everything will be like Andor. It just means that the quality of SW material will rise to a much higher standard. Gilroy has more than proven himself on the big and small screen when it comes to SW with fan and critically acclaimed Rogue One and Andor. But despite my high hopes, Filoni has shown he needs more assistance with live action than previously thought after Ahsoka and Acolyte. So he should no longer be the chief creative officer at LF. He could still be the lead story creative. But Gilroy should be the sole lead when it comes to finalizing SW film and TV scripts. As far as the Acolyte, I agree that it was framed as a mystery but the mystery just wasn't that intriguing. Also, the characters were just completely unlikeable, uninteresting, or klled off as well. Sol was empathetic but his character was destroyed by the incredibly unlikeable Vernestra (green Star Trek Jedi). The show would've been so much better with Indara/Carrie Ann Moss and Sol leading and characters like Kelnacca (Wookie Jedi) supporting instead of unceremoniously offing all 3.
I'm glad we have Force Centre for their positive view on Star Wars. I'd recommend people listen (or watch) if they don't already.

I’ve been saying do the same thing that Jedi: Survivor did with Dagan Gera with Qimir. Rey finds a crypod and frees him.
