It's bizarre to see how people perceive characters from movies as something real. He was the bad guy, quite mediocre at best. And they haven't considered any of this codex magical stuff, as it wasn't out for long enough.

Movies, TV Series, Books and Video Games are excisting to give you a Entertaining Story, fascinating Characters, Iconic World Building and love for the Characters. This sounds a bit corny but i think the reason Venom switched up and lied to Eddie in Venom 1 is because he would get “bullied” by the other symbiotes and didn’t really like them. Not as in standard bullying but more of “putting him down” bullying. So once he learned that Eddie was a perfect match he knew he had to stay for the better. Which explains why he was so surprised and horrified when he found out that Knull knew about the Codex which is when he turned back to his own kind for help. The real villain of Venom 1 was Carlton Drake. He was an amazing and well written character who was played by one of my favourite actors. He was very manipulative and persuasive with his words and all around evil. I’m kinda sad that he died so soon.
Let's not forget the influence of Knull when it comes to his progeny, he literally is the abyss, hell it makes sense why they tried to keep him sealed away, but his dark influence would be enough to make a timid Symbiote get fearful and mad
That's because it wasn't actually intended by the writers. Its a retcon from the 3rd movie. So while it's technically true now, it wasn't ALWAYS true. There will be inconsistencies

I hated how venom fused with riot in the first movie but venom never got to fuse with carnage and create carnom/venage (yes i did play lego marvel super heroes 2)
And carnage was saved for later, matter of fact LTBC should've been scrapped entirely. Carnage is way too important to have a comedy movie singled around him, that was the one that ruined the trilogy
These movies would have been better if they were all released after the Donny Cates run. They could have incorporated that lore from the start and keep the logic a bit more consistent.
They just tried to retcon Riot to justify his crappy arc, and tbh they shouldve let it die, bringing up Riot's name just reminded me how if you narratively switch places between Riot and Venom, Venom could have justified he already went through Peter Parker bc he travelled the world and leave it at that, and at least we wouldve got comic accurate Venom 😂 then they could have milked the franchise w a Spider-Man team up, but if not, at least retcon Andrew there and a cameo but Sony was scared of success
Can't believe people are defending the logic behind this dumpster fire of a movie they completely winged it and sold you all the venom ip and all you ate it like starving pigs in a pen dont blame you all we are starving for a good venom movie
