Sand Hollow UT Trail Guide | The Ledges | RZR Turbo S, Kawasaki Teryx, KRX 1000, Canam Maverick

- We head out to Sand Hollow State Park in Hurricane, Utah - about 40 minutes from Zion National Park with our friends - @Deranged Off-Road. Check out their channel, too!
The Ledges is an 8 rated trail at the edge of Sand Mountain, overlooking Warner Valley and the Arizona Strip.
The beginning of the trail can be hard to find. The sand drifts wipe away any tracks leading to the entrance. Being a newer trail, there is no sign marking the start. It’s located between Plan B and The Maze trails.
This trail has some very steep drops, off-camber turns, and some very fun climbs! The views are second to none! The majority of the trail follows the edge of a (guesstimate) 1000 foot cliff.
As always.. skid plates, larger tires, good clutching/gearing, and a good guide will be helpful on this trail. There are bypasses on most of the major obstacles on the trail, until the last few.

@@OffCamberInd it seems really short but it's the same as a rzr xp. Now the RS1 is really short at 83". There's a dude that comes out to the Rallys in Sand hollow who rocks the RS1. He climbs everything. You might know him. Not sure but I think his name is Bob. He's a big dude. Runs water in his front tires.

Pretty neat to see the difference in confidence. I'm for sure glad I went with the turbo s. Coming from many many years of rock crawling competition at pro modified level I've seen every 10+ rated trail in sand hollow and led many of them for several years. Will be cool to learn some of the 6 and 8 rated trails in the utv
Wheelbase is your friend in most places out there
@@OffCamberInd I ran a 108 inch wheel base pro mod car through every buggy trail out there. Lead probably about 100 people through buggy trails during trail hero and winter jamboree.
I was slightly bummed to get the 4 seater but the more I learn about them I think it's gonna be way better.

The 2 seat X3 has a pretty good wheelbase, but a little more would help on the tall climbs!

Hmmm- I had written this trail off because it looked too sketchy for the 2 door Jeep’s. Guess I’ll head out there this week. I know they like to get super close to that rock on the NASCAR obstacle. Thanks.

My Turbo S 4 is going to Scott for a gear reduction tomorrow (hurray) and I can finally mount my 36” XCR350s. I’ve heard good things about them but am looking forward to seeing you’re observations on how they compare to the other tires you guys have run! I really debated between them and the roxxillas.
The gear reduction changes the game! Ryan has had a his xcr350 for a few rides now and we are impressed. Very good on slick rock, not quite as good as a Roxxzilla in the sand (we’re gonna try some different air pressures) and about the same on pavement. I think you’ll be impressed

The Maverick Sport XRC has a wheelbase of 90" 64" wide stock. In one of there videos Dave the owner said he had 4x3 offset wheels. That would have made him about 68" wide.
Yup, right on the money! They commented a few comments up (or down 🤔🤷🏻♂️) confirming the specs and you’re correct
What tires are on the two four seat machine's and would you recommend them. I've been looking for the perfect 32" DOT tire to put on my General XP4.
The tire we have liked best on these trails is the Maxxis Roxxzilla, which is not DOT and is not good on the road. A good option for a DOT tire would be the BFG, or the GBC Terramaster. The Teryx has Sedona Trail Saw tires, which have been great as well
Long shot of this getting seen but how well marked are these trails done in sand hollow. I’m going to be down there this weekend and want to go but just wondering how well things are marked or this there is like a tail book that can help. Thanks.
Google “Dixie 4 wheel drive sand hollow map” and go to their site an follow instructions to get the free interactive map. It’s not 100% up to date, but definitely will help get around

They’re Sedona Sano beadlocks and Sedona Trail Saw tires. They’re not polished, but machined

What clutch kit is on the sport? Looking to do the same work to my XC (32s, 4/3 wheels, and clutching). Did Sand Hollow a few weeks ago on stock 29s and it's clearly not enough.

How many miles would you say you can get out of the berserker tires before they get worn down?
These have over 1000 and they’ve got a lot left
I’m not too sure. I put a couple hundred miles on them and they look the same as when I got them. They’re a harder compound tire but I was impressed with them.
what front diff you guys running in the rzr's
Stock Turbo S diffs. If you control your wheel speed, they hold up pretty well. The stock XP ones aren’t very good at all
@@OffCamberInd I have the regular turbo and it’s not holding up well at all.
I am sad that Ryan didn't make it up "The Big Hole." Maybe now that he has those 36" tires he can successfully ascend "The Big Hole." Maybe next time Royce's machine will be ready to take up "The Big Hole." Do you think Eric's unit will ever even get close to "The Big Hole?"

Ryan will have a lot better chance with his new, good sidewall tires. My Roxxzillas should be able to do it.. it’s a real technical spot! Got about 2 inches of flexibility there before you fall off the line
