This track inspired from the album "Metropolis Part 2: Scenes from a Memory (by Dream Theater, 1999)"
There are some ways to access to lydian-tone in major key song.
In most case, 2nd minor chord becam major to get lydian sound.
I also selected that in this backing track.
But there are not only the way.
It can arrive to the lydian tone using 1st diminished chord or sharped 4th chord or 2nd major on 6th root and anyway.
The album showed those technics to young me.
Awesome masterpiece.
I like the Sound of Lydian dominant over the Dadd9 and E7/G# and using D major over the G6/D and final Dadd9.
This definitely has some metropolis pt 1, or steange deja vu vibes
This is brilliant, and I can hear the Dream Theater influences! I really like that this has modal shifts into Lydian - this really helps make backing tracks more interesting and gets more exploring more rather than getting stuck with the same licks every time. I'd love more stuff that moves around a bit more between modes/keys/even time signatures. Thanks!
