I recommend all brompton owners to regularly check the two big nuts above the carrier block, tighten if need be, you do have a nice garden !

You’re almost as bad as me! Not long ago you were saying how you don’t bother with a torque wrench, I seem to remember saying that on one of my old videos 👍😂😂

It’s when you enter the world of modernism and go carbon!

Torque wrenches are invaluable on carbon fibre fitments especially

Reddit and everywhere, they are shitting their pants over this, demanding factory recalls etc.🤦‍♂️ Yes, it has to be done, but its not a big deal.🤷‍♂️

I have seen that an extra piece of a little larger tube is sold for strengthening the tube from the fork, which may - split from too much pressure inside, it seems, on a Brompton? As a now former Craftsman I will rather apply too little force than over-tighten a bolt or nut. Finn. Denmark

Yes, I used to sleeve many rods and control arms, I’m happy to let Brompton do the nitty gritty of design, I’m just happy with adapting them for my application

They did tighten quite a bit 😮

Cheers Andrew. I take it that all T lines not yet sold will be at the correct torque. Can I ask what make / where you sourced your wrench?
Just an observation but when I was working we always tightend bolts on the diagonal .

I googled it and found it at one of the larger bike shops £32 ish, yes I was told that too, but essentially it’s a cap on a shaft, I suspect we have to go the opposite direction to what the do in production
