I went backpacking around Central America in 2010 and stayed in Roatán. Loved it! Maybe the whole cannibal thing was why there was a restaurant called the Cannibal Cafe!
Somehow reminded me of the Frank Zappa song-phrase 'you travel through bars' - very likely with regard to southern californians and thrir leisure activities. Anyway, thank you for sharing! ... and what really is our 'the History of ...'? ... the people there, weather, climate changes, wildlife, indiginous people - or changes in soil through vulcano activities, erosion, landslides, rivers going into the seas, floodings, and tsunamis rise and fall 'of the oceans', changes in gods, beliefe systems of humans or sun activity - it's really complicated. (And we are talking changes in empires and rulers a lot today in particular?) I managed to escape the northern weather, maybe you look up Benalmadena, Spain, harbour and coast walks, that's where I am at present, weather has been wonderful again yesterday - all people were out in shorts and t-shirts, enjoying the warm sunshine.

When I’ve visited on cruises I’ve gone to West End on Roatan. There are good local restaurants.
