Cameos in the video:
NY Knicks #20: Micheal “Sugar” Ray Richardson
Guys watching TV: Whodini (Ecstasy [in hat, RIP] and Grandmaster Dee [rear left])
Fat Boys: Kool Rock Ski, Buffy The Human Beatbox (RIP) & Prince Markie Dee (RIP)
1984 Kurtis Blow was the king of rap.
4:42 Whoodini. We did Martial Arts before breakdancing. YOu could see the battle uprock (Top Rock)
This song was so big!!! I am so damned glad that I was born in 1969. I got to witness a lot of great times in history.
#33 My man Kareem is the Center on my starting team!
As a white kid probably 12 or 13 Kurtis Blow and Whodini The Freaks Come Out At Night were the first couple of rap songs that we heard on the radio or saw on MTV.
This one is still my favorite from this time period.
And the video is about the most 80s thing ever produced.
I'm not sure about in NYC or LA but we never really had a problem with martial artists messing with us at the schoolyard ball courts.
Brings back memories.
The fashion though....
What the HELL were we thinking?
I had this Album, A Classic From back in the 80's
This jam is a basketball history lesson. Some of yall are probably wondering who in the world is he talking about. That's Whodini sitting next to him at one point. Now they have a list of classics that you need to check out.
Such a classic from a hip hop pioneer! This song is like a basketball history lesson; he names so many greats. That’s the thing about hip hop; you learn so much about the culture of the times when you listen to it.
All those NBA greats he named
The guy sitting next to him was from Whodini.
Alyson Williams doing the vocals
That was Whodini sitting next to him. R.I.P. Ecstacy
This was a classic cut…..great memories of when this cut was hot coming out to this before 8th grade bball games with this playing from a boom box behind the basket during our warm up layup lines…..🤣🤣
Cool!
Classic video R.I.P. Ecstacy from Whodini
Kurt produced The Fat Boys first 2 albums JJ
This Was And Still Is So Classic JJ The Great Kurtis Blow Great Pic And Reaction Oh Yeah Bow Wow Covered This As Well
That was funny to watch 🤣😆😻80s videos are hilarious ✨👍🏿🤩🙏🏿
It was the group Whodini that was sitting next to Kurtis Blow.
Love that song. Love Curtis Blow.
we've come a long way in the way of rapper videos. this song was played on playgrounds and basketball all over the country
Lolllllllllll......rap sure came a long way from 1984.....this was considered a high quality video to rep hiphop in 1984 because rap was still fairly new at the time......btw.....all the nba players he names tells you exactly what era this was....great reaction
Big Hit ... Bow Wow made a version in the Early 2000's which was a big hit too ..
Classic, check out AJ's Scratch or 8 million stories for his underground Hip-Hop
"8 Million Stories" isn't for everyone, but it's straight 🔥🔥🔥 to me! Back in the day "Run DMC's" cameo was everything! Peace!
@@kevbrown341 That was the whole joint to me, when they came on it was everything, the song is kinda alright but they lite it.
👍👍👍👍👍👍
foundation! i don't think i ever saw the video before. lmao.
4:24 when you love mustard as much as that guy did, there is no such thing.
That's Whodini with him in front of the TV
This was cool in junior high, especially cuz I was a hooper, but damn even back then we thought this video was weak! Dudes dunking on a 7 foot rim, and what does Kung Fu have to do with anything lol!
Lol on the 7ft hoop!
Just a little something fun, relevant (since you play🏀) and classic for ya! 😊 Great reaction❣️🎼🎶🎤

That was fun & yeah that was a lotta mustard and way too much hot dog.
The guy sitting next to him is Ecstasy Of Whodini
80s hip hop was the best. so much fun! Kurtis Blow, The Fat Boys and Whodini. You have to check out "Bring me back my MTV", a new old school track and homage to the golden age of music television. How many 80s n 90s heroes featured in the music video can you name? ruclips.net/video/lsiG_X7P-48/видео.htmlsi=Q_33t3t6MhkxvsgB
This was another good basketball rap from classic hip hop. Cold crush vs fantastic five: ruclips.net/video/yddfvHmr9Os/видео.html
