Just done this one Dave. Really lovely. The lake is now out of bounds as blue algae. Plenty of other water though. Thank you for showing it to us.

Glad you enjoyed it. Interesting to know about the algae.... hopefully it won't be there for too long.

Another lovely walk Dave & Logan! I love a really good old Oak tree & you had several on this walk! That pond was just idyllic! Whish I had one like that in my back yard!😅
I'm so amazed at all of the "wild" ponies you seem to have there. Use parentheses as they do seem pretty tame, or at least very comfortable w/ human interaction. We do have areas here in Oregon where you can find wild horses - well that's if you can find them! They are very leery of humans & keep their distances, & will most likely run if they see you. When you said Jungle Book & Baloo I started singing "You got those "Mare" necessities...."🎶🐴🐎🌳

Thanks. Yes, the New Forest ponies are semi feral but they are all owned by people (known as Commoners). It is against the law for anyine other than the owners to feed them and the Forest Code advises you not to touch or get near them. The problem is that if people feed them, it is often the wrong sort of food and encourages jealousy between the ponies & aggressive behaviour towards humans. I always try and point out that it is best not to get too near the ponies, whenever I include footage of them in my videos.

Another nice walk Dave, I also watched your Itchen navigation walk. I had almost forgotten those hot days of summer, good job you start early.

Thanks Peter. I must admit that I prefer walking in the morning - you just get that little bit of "freshness" sometimes (even on a hot day).

Beautiful old Oak trees, used as scratching points for ponies, and why not. When trees fall over they will often continue to grow if just a few roots are still in the soil. What a lovely old bench. Ideal for a rest on a warm day. Do you plan these walks from OS maps, because you find these wonderful water features and way marked trails. It’s amazing what there is to see away from the roads

OS Maps are a good starting point for planning walks. The New Forest National Park Authority have a very good website where you can "zoom in" on maps of the area and it shows evey spring, stream & path down to the last detail.

Another great video. Do you get out in the autumn Dave ? You seem to be the person that knows a lot about the area. Maybe you would be willing to show us an area for autumn leaves sometime. Not that I want to be influencing what you do. I used to know a bit of the New Forest when driving from Bognor Regis a few times a year. I can't remember much of it now. David

Thanks David. I have been busy filming lots of videos during the Summer....to publish over the Winter months....purely because they look better in good weather. Sunshine, blue skies, leaves on trees, no mud, no "low light" or "low sun" issues with the camera, no need for me or Logan to have heavy coats on etc .... is more appealing to the eye! Having said that, some of the videos I published over the Winter did have their own "atmosphere"! I hope to do a couple of videos in the Autumn showing off those golden brown colours of the leaves as well as some showing off the purple heathers that are out now. Cheers.

Thanks Dave. I'm glad you see the importance of sun in your videos. It's definitely nicer to see that. You seem to know everywhere ! well done. I look forward to any Autumn shots. I can't travel much due to ill health so it will be a smash and grab raid of the Autumn forest when I go. Otherwise I would do more journeys there myself.
