Pokrovsky died in 1930, so he could not have criticized the HRR of Trotksy, whose three volumes were published between 1930-1932. Pokrovsky's criticisms of Trotsky date back to 1923 and 1925, years in which he dealed with Trotsky's republication (know in Russian and not in German as the original version) of "1905" in 1922, and also issues regarding permanent revolution. Trotsky refers to Pokrovsky in an Annex of 1922 to Pokrovsky's critique (demolishing his circulationist understanding of capitalism and its origins and development, a criticism that show how far the Old Man would have been fron mandelites like Andre Gunder Frank). It is Trotsky that mentions Porkovsky in a note in the first volume of HRR (1930), clarifying his further differences with him and also paying his respect to a erudite rival that had recently died. I expected more thorough and accurate escolarship from an intellectual like Banaji that has publish various interesting marxist books and has the time, money and position to better study the issue he is talking about.
    Marxist greetings
