I was at this conference in the front row. Now seeing it on video I can’t believe Jeff’s presentation is an hour long. It didn’t seem that long in person. One of the best presentations I have ever experienced in a business meeting.
For sure - it went by quickly. He had half of the room in tears the content was so good and powerful, it was probably the best talk we have had over all of our events. Thanks for watching our channel.
Such an inspiration. I Stopped donating during the startup phase but now in my company we can definitely donate and get my team to donate to the charities they want. I am working towards creating 1000 jobs for the most poor in Somaliland. So this definitely encourages me to stay in my purpose because that’s what makes it worth all the work not the money.
This speech was perfect - so many life changing messages. Thank you for sharing your story and all that you do to make our world better Mr. Hoffman. You are an inspiration and a blessing.
These were women who were going to be thrown out on the street and were victims of domestic abuse, it is a temporary solution for them to avoid further abuse and having to go back to an abusive house...not a homeless shelter encouraging people to live off the system.
Right, every wealthy person who took big risks, focused and worked hard for 20-30 years, sacrificed security and many times valuable time/memories with their own family, just got lucky haha. For sure not the case. These are not lottery ticket winners, they were not born into wealth, 90% of the super successful that we interview are super driven and insanely hard working and because they were born into poverty or had great limitations on their family growing up. It was that mindset and drive and hunger that allowed them to become successful, most didn't simply get lucky or start out lucky. That is important point, otherwise why work at all? Why take any chances, we should just all sit around hoping we get lucky.
@@classygentlemangaming8400 I'm not saying I'm ultra-wealthy - I'm saying the ones who have gotten there did so through a lot of things. Did some of them get lucky breaks? Sure. But you can't say everyone took the same risks and worked just as hard when factually it can't be the case. Only 16% of people in the United States own a business or run a business, so right there you knock out 84% of people who aren't taking the risk to start a business, the ultra-wealthy get there by running and growing businesses in just about every case, or a platform or real estate which is really a business in the real estate niche. The ones who scale to $1M is less than 10% of those and less then .1% of business owners I believe it is grow to $5M or more in revenue. So does luck play a part? Yes, but if you never start a business, choose a bad niche, don't outlearn everyone in your niche, don't put in the extra work, don't choose something you are high conviction on, watch a lot of TV, don't have the right mindset, etc... tons of factors are under your control. I'm sure there is some survivor bias and luck in the equation, but I'm also sure you can create some of that good luck along the way. You are not going to like the rest of our RUclips channels if you think everyone who does well in life simply got lucky and is the same as everyone else, it is the exact opposite of what we have found to be the case.
@@familyofficeclub people's egos can't accept that their success is determined by luck. almost everyone works hard, but that doesnt matter when some people are lucky enough to be born smart, or born with good parents, or rich parents. you dont know anything special, you were simply placed in circumstances that facilitated this very outcome
@@classygentlemangaming8400 If knowing things doesn't help - why are you watching a youtube video from a billionaire? Just trolling for fun? I guess we agree to disagree, if nothing else even if you are right, lets pretend that is the case for a second - the illusion that skill does matter, that determination does matter, that hard work does matter, that grit makes the difference along with constant improvement...the belief in that fantasy would help someone "keep at it" and literally become the survivor bias you are referring to - and the last professional standing in their niche. Believing in the fairy tale of "work hard and smart" even if a fallacy - would itself help the person stick in the game long enough to maybe have a greater chance of getting lucky if they hold on for one more year or one more quarter because of their constant improvement. That is what is interesting about your point - it doesn't even have to be real if it makes someone stick it out they have more chances of getting lucky - so right or wrong it helps to believe I am right vs. the depressing approach of "well, may as well not try, may as well not learn, may as well not work hard, as I'm just not lucky enough to _________" that doesn't serve anyone, yourself, your community, your family, or our country. Just my thoughts I know you don't agree I 100% respect that and respect that I was lucky enough to be born in America and have 2 parents still alive today, for that I am very grateful along with many other things.

Amazing, that shows the power of Jeff's talk to have that type of an impact to so many people
Great speech Jeff I had my note pad out the whole time.
For sure - pure gold, he is great. There is nothing wrong with being ultra-wealthy, it is just wrong if you don't do something good with the money.
