Every time I hear Tattoo I cry 😢 😭 😩 😪 😫
Truman desegregated the Army in 1948. It took the Army until 1954 to implement this policy. It wasn’t until 1960 until the first African American walked the tomb of the unknown. And yet it’s incredible how racism still persists..
You’d think without anything to do the Old Guard might be able to offer more than just 7 minutes of content (less if you exclude the same extended intro). This is not a practical use of my tax dollars. If the DOD is looking to shrink their budget for next year they might consider looking here.
6 minutes 26 seconds.. just sayin’
@@worldflute you forgot the dead time at the end which puts it closer to 6 minutes 5 seconds... just sayin’ :)
Well there is more than 7 minutes of content since they are putting out episodes and this isn’t the only one. If you’ve ever seen twilight tattoo in person before you will notice it’s the same performance just broken up into episodes. If you don’t like it then don’t watch it and leave well enough alone. These men and women work so hard to make this show and your negativity isn’t necessary.
@@jaylenepedersen2378 thanks for expressing yourself. I hope you feel better now.
1. Thank you for acknowledging my point: this is essentially the same show - the only difference being that it’s released 6 minutes at a time.
2. You’re correct: I dislike this very much. Might I suggest - if you don’t care for the legitimate criticisms I express on this platform, it isn’t necessary for you to reply. Perhaps you might consider clicking the “like” button and moving on.
3. “These men and women work very hard to make this show..” See point number 1.
4. These 6 minute “soft power” clips are unsuccessful in addressing real issues facing our military and society as a whole. Continuing to present them in this way is detrimental to meaningful change.
Looking forward to next week’s episode.
@@jessicanance5402 thanks for expressing your feelings. I too hope you feel better.
1. Performing (not preforming)
2. I’m so sorry you took my comments as hateful. I quite agree with you that hate will tear apart this country (along with willful ignorance). Last I checked the Old Guard was an Infantry Unit - it’s great that you and others enjoy this sort of thing - I do not.
3. I don’t believe we know one another and therefore I think it’s presumptuous of you to claim in what capacity I serve my country and also respect your right to express yourself. Though I must say I’m honored that you consider me the “most” hateful - I suspect you don’t get out much.
4. I also would like to thank all who serve. Dealing with rampant racism, sexism, homophobia, sexual assault etc is hard enough on its own - a toxic work environment and lack of accountability can make it even more difficult.
Enjoy next week’s clip (but if you’d like a preview, just do a quick search and watch any performance from previous years) Cheers!
