Oh Ehm Gee that was so delightful to watch and follow. Love all your play throughs but this one with the whole boyfriend Barista arc and all was especially entertaining, loved it. Also, you’re tots a superstar here for us.
Interesting game, art style i was not enthralled by but the more i see it in this gameplay the more suitable it seems. The theme is very strong throughout the experience it seems i will look into acquiring this one since it is such a unique theme i can only think of the ancient but underwhelming game of life series following. I would have enjoyed if you went more into the scoring at the end as still uncertain what matters in the end but you certainly highlighted how the game tells a fun story for each player (:
nope there isn't one, which might bug me in other games, but here i'm fine with it because "that's life" (i.e. the theme resonates with me so much that i'm okay with it)
you know what... you actually might be right. we played that you have to have "unlocked them" because that just made thematic sense to me (plus it makes the game much less luck swingy), but i just looked at the rules and you might be correct with the way it's worded. but i wouldn't want to play that way tbh because of the luck factor :)
I can't imagine a 4 player game with this, the downtime would be horrible. Looks too much even with 2 players. Spend time, earn stuff, buy cards, play cards...all in one turn.
there's practically zero down time. players can do most of the thinking for their turn during during their opponent's turn and resolution when it comes around to you takes less than a minute. the game is incredibly fast :)
Everything but Drafting and Playing cards can be done essentially simultaneously. Everyone can play out their time tokens at the same time and then you resolve and draft and play cards in turn order.
and if you house rule it a tiny bit to say that during a player's turn, after they draft their card, immediately refill the draft area, then the next player has ALL the information they need to be planning their turn while the current turn is still going on. as near as i can guess the only reason this isn't the standard rule is because they were worried that some players might forget and draft 2 cards accidentally on a turn (plus there are a few powers that let you draft multiple cards, so there's that i suppose) :)
@@srpad yes, if I play it as a solo game than it's not an issue :D This is the next level multiplayer solitaire game...if I play a game about life, I want to have interaction with players, because life is all about interacting with your surroundings...so If I want to see how my opponents are doing, this game will be a dowtime fest.

Why would I choose this instead of Pursuit of Happiness?

There was a lot of opportunities to fit plenty of easter eggs on the cards (like Forrest Gump on Running card).
Hedonist legacy focusing engineer - hahaha. Great run-through and such a great game. I will need to get this one.
Is there a market churn/clear mechanic? It seemed like you were choosing from not great options on quite a few turns

If you leave 2 Value cards face down until the game ends,do they still score or do they have to be revealed and added to your hand?
nope you don't get to score them unless you've made the breakthrough that lets you know what you really value in life :)
@@rahdo ah darn it, we scored the face down cards :p , thanks for the reply!

@@rahdo Hmm,haha. I asked on BGG and even stated I've rarely ever felt so confused about a rule even with a collection of 400 games.
ah, i see you've posted the question to boardgamegeek. i'm going to subscribe to the thread as well!
