    Lots of my 90s and early 2000s figures has this problem. I dont know yet how all my post 2010s figures would fare but hopefully its better.

      My gundam plastic figures got sticky after 20years. What I do is that I put them into hot water(not boiled water) with dish wash soap. After one hour, rinse them and put them into cold water again with baking soda(the one for cleaning) for another 2hours. If it still sticky, get a product called "de-solv-it", it's from Australia. Pour a bit onto a cloth and wipe it directly onto the figures. It will remove the sticky and oil immediately like brand new toy. Though it will become the same again after 3 months. I just repeat the process. Hope it helps !

      @@jackkopix6612 thats interesting, I still have few SD gundam from 90s and still looks fine. I noticed aswell that all my old Lego never had this problem, and lego is plastic aswell.
      My SCM has tacky problem aswell even though its less than a decade old.

    Any concerns about the paint on the figures coming off with this method on older figures? Great tip!

      Brandon G does not seem to be an issue as the plastic goods are not really painted more of a colored plastic

    I've had several early mcfarlane figures that have developed this problem. I too did try the hot water and soap but it would come back. I will definitely try the tape procedure. Thanks for the usual info

    NICE VIDEO! I have a question, how do you deal with the resin toys that deteriorate with hot weather? I have a few that are very sticky and soft now... is there any way one could fix that ?

    Try with zippo Lighter Fluid ,bro. Gently wipe it with soft cloth. After that clean it with water and baby soap. Works with my NECA ,Mezco and Mcfarlane figures.

    Here is the problem you can't get everything off with tape :/. I'm trying the Windex method. Soak toy in windex 24 hours. Rinse with really warm water and use Dawn dish soap to wash.. Stick it back in the windex and let sit another 24 hours, wash with soap and really warm matter again. Wipe clean. So far so good it cleaned up a Little pet shop toy really well!

    Rubbing alcohol on a cloth does the job as well.

    • @gonzaloNMF
      @gonzaloNMF 4 года назад

      doesn't the alcohol cause paint wear? I have a couple of figures that started to get sticky and I'm kinda afraid of damaging them by rubbing sth I shouldn't

    • @DanakarEndeel
      @DanakarEndeel 2 года назад +2

      @@gonzaloNMF Sorry for replying to this old comment but I tried alcohol once on an old M.A.S.K. toy because it was dirty (so not really sticky) but it immediately started dissolving areas with paint too. As such I wouldn't try that. Although my alcohol was 99% so I'm not sure if diluting it with water or using something lesser (like 75%) would have better results.

    The packing tape works perfectly! Just opened a stargate sg1 figure and his vest was oily and sticky. I used the tape and left it on for a few minutes and it's almost completely gone. Just doing it a second time to get it all. Thank you so much!
