With his popular History Channel series Digging For The Truth, Josh Bernstein breathed life into historical events that shaped the world, yet in many cases remained clouded by mystery even in modern times. Journeying into ancient pyramids, following the trail of the Holy Grail, and traveling to Pompeii, Bernstein gave viewers front row seats as he attempted to unravel ancient archaeological enigmas and discover what became of people and civilizations from thousands of years ago. Yesterday the ghost of Hans Wilsdorf appeared and told me he wants me to have a Pepsi, when i told the story to my ad they asked me to leave...
Maximilian Möhre 😂😂😂
filerious 😹
Same man
Always a pleasure listening to people talk about watches in a meaningful way. Another great episode!
Do "Talking fake watches with Chris Essery"
Talking "Fake" Watches.
ded
ROFL. You just won the Horology Internet.
Classic!
Pantheon-worthy episode lol
Talking watches with Eric Clapton?
That would be epic
Daan Prins hell yeah bro thats gonna be epic
But he sold his rarest watches
Mate! I’ve been waiting for it to happen for a long ass time hahaha. We need some UG actions in the episodes!
I'm a simple man, I see a new Talking Watches, I drop everything and watch it.
Loved this episode too, such a cool approach to watches and life. Plus it's refreshing to see Rolex collectors that really let their watches live the life they were designed for.
please stop with that stale and redundant comment
@@deepdiver9355 Oh I'm sorry to have personally upset you, your highness, I'll delete my harmless comment immediately. 🙄
Did you not read the rest of my comment where I then went on to have an opinion about the episode?
I would love, just once, for someone on Talking Watches to say "...and this is my Steinhart"
Costas Mandylor hahahahaha as Steinhart OVM owner this cracked me up. It actually was hilarious when that actor showed his Gevril Paul Newman homage and said John Mayer had one. I say if those dudes can have an homage of an unattainable watch I’m good with mine 😂
Lmfao ain’t this the truth
I agree, even I don’t like Steinhart
WIS steinhart is great for the money though
Have a Steinhart Ocean one 39 and love it .
Great beautiful selection. Love the story too.
Cool watch stories. However the whole time I was wondering why he didn’t have an Explorer watch...1or 2
Devon Ortiz yes same here.. explorer ii is my favorite Rolex. Haven’t seen a talking watches yet with someone having an explorer.
@@Somemjf Gary Shteyngart has one I believe
5 "common" watches with interesting meaning and story are INFINITELY cooler than the collector with hundreds of meaningless one-off pieces.....loved this episode
All those watches look like they live life. They are worn. They are scratched and banged. I respect that.
Absolutely amazing episode. I think this really brought Talking Watches back on track and in touch with true collectors. Well done Hodinkee
When Rolex tells you “This is a collectors watch” and you wear it deep diving anyway!
Now this is the completely opposite of the last talking watches. Not status symbols but timepieces which are used as such.
It still grinds my gears how she complained about having to wind it...
Great episode this time!
Best talking watches episode in a long while, such a great guest!
Yes, a new one! I can never get enough of these!
How do believe people fall for seances??? Sad his stepfather died but even sadder someone exploited it for some Oohs and Ahhs. Nice collection
The sentimental value is the case. You play in emotions and emotional conection and you can sell a lot of stuff for much greater price than usual. I understand the essence of an emotional connection and great sentimental value of that Breitling. But to use it in seances and crap like that... it just makes me sad. But Josh seems like a nice guy... Has some nice watches too
How do people fall for the belief in God or gods? Same shit...
I think the mom might of been the one that was hood winked.
@@gamebred26 You can fight with what you feel and even convince other people but you know God is real and is interested in you. Maybe He does not support your lifestyle which you would like to continue but He is real and is for you.
I am a happy believer, I hope you will be too.
@@gamebred26 The greatest scientists and thinkers in human history believed in God. How do people fall assuming the universe and everything came on it's own without a creator? Did you give birth to yourself? Belief in God is more rational than atheism.
Thank you for another TW! This is a series that I truly looking forward to the next installment each and every time. Thank you again!
This guy is winning in life. Amazing job, looks, and taste in watches.
I wish Josh would come back to TV and show us some more interesting places. Digging for the Truth was a really fun show that was a good mix of entertaining and informative.
Can’t wait watch!!! Nothing better then a new Talking Watches!
This was a great episode! Y’all came back hard after that last one...
Great episode, love to see watches in their element... diving, exploring and flying
Nice collection; tasteful and understated.
These videos just have an amazing vibe about them, just great material!
I love that his Kermit looks like he actually wears it.
Great episode, very purposeful and meaningful collection. Love the steel bezel white Daytona, new ceramics are awesome obviously but that watch checks so many boxes and so wearable!
The best episodes have the best watch stories. It's not so much about what you have, but how you got them and what they mean to you.
Great episode! Big comeback after the last talking watches
Very interesting start to finish. Amazing how much the Wings, a model I've never heard of, looks like my Aerospace, which I've known about since before my 1st flight lesson 25 years ago.
Thank God, back on track Hodinkee.
Best topic on HODINKEE!
Greetings from Germany 😄😄
Really good Episode! Enjoyed it!
Fantastic episode. Love the Emergency.
Better Hodinkee!! None of that rubbish with cameras and bell-sniffs commenting on angles etc. This is what we want, this is what we get!!
Great episode. I love the fact that he used to dive with the vintage Sea dweller.
Very cool episode, Hodinkee!
Great interview. Interesting, well traveled, guy.
Well, for once a guy who actually dives with his Rolex !! Props for that 👏🏻👏🏻
I just love the show.
Would be awesome if you guys bring out episodes more frequently!
Awesome episode....loved it
This guy 50 years old. Let that sink in
Sweet Daytona and Fourtane's is such an amazing shop for new & vintage pieces!!
Great collection!
Great episode, really enjoyed the interview. Very down to earth guy.hard to believe that rolex doesn’t have a replacement crystal for it?
I like this guy . I watched a lot of his stuff . Went to so many of the places he went to. I have been lucky . I am glad he is a watch guy like us .
Good interview... Humble...
I'm surprised he doesn't have a Rolex Explorer :D. I am also from Izmir, Turkey, and have been to Ephesus as a kid many times. I love the example. Thank you for sharing!
Excellent interview.
I strive to be that parent to pass on meaningful pieces to my kids, whether it be a Seiko or a Cartier.
Hodinkee goes supernatural 😯😯
A great recovery from the last episode!!
Been waiting!
Great episode.
Great collection, love that double red!
I love this series, and this is perhaps my favorite episode yet. Sorry D. Robinson...
Great episode. Perhaps this explorer might think about an Explorer next, or is that too on the nose?
Orange Hand was waiting for this comment
How is he not the most charming man ever
Ive always loved the El Primero Daytona, Black dial with the sort of creamy tritium. Gotta be one of my favorite Daytonas.
Talking watches with Tom Selleck? Looking at his watches throughout the years is pretty cool.
Love talking watches! Best of th best
Very honest epiaode. Keep it up!
Talking Watches with Bill Gates?
BG- So I bought this Casio it's ten bucks.
Hodinkee: That's a Casio Duro reference MDV106 it's $40 on Amazon.
BG: $10-40 it's the same.
End of the interview
How much can a banana cost...? $10?
😅😅😅😅😅
I really love his story about his stepfathers watch. For me that emotional bond with a watch and the memories that are brought back to life are the reasons why I call heirloom pieces priceless, you just cannot buy that connection. Each watch has a deeper meaning to him, love that. The Polar opposite to the previous episode!
Great interview Kermit!
JRE needs to have Josh on his podcast
Do a 60 minute Talking Watches. Thank you.
Lovely stories.
Cool watches but he sounds like a person who wouldn't talk to you if you are wearing an SKX.
He has no clue about wagches and is not a real collector. Hes not a watch guy at all.
Hugo Lopez ya, he seems like a d-nozzle
Arrogant knob.
Very sad that he was annoyed because he wore seikos and casios at school.
Hugo Lopez I totally disagree. Sure he sealed the deal when he saw someone with a nice watch, but he didn’t give me the vibe of someone that would look down on something like a GShock or SKX.
Fantastic episode, such a cool guy.
What a rebound from the last TW!
Really good video and articulate guy.
This guy is interesting, the real deal...I enjoyed this and the watches are fabulous and used as intended. Thank you
This was great
The Cartier Tank watch is love!!
I love the story about the Séance and being connected to watch that has been past down.
Great ass episode loved the stories
If a Sea Dweller is your entree into Rolex, we should switch lives! Nice video.
Find a timepiece that "will survive even if you don't". Also, would've been great to see the Rolex Explorer in that collection - he's the perfect owner for it!
This is up there episode wise
I love this one 👌👌 Ps: please do ellen
Please add Andrew St. Pierre White with his 1680 he had been wearing since the 80s non-stop. Another great explorer in 4x4 world!!! Cheers
He needs Seiko Turtle -any, but the Zimbe edition is my favorite
Oh man it's getting time to step up to 4k Video.. otherwise: good and interesting video as always
What a personality!
This guy lives my dream life....thank you for finally putting out some good content that's not just some spoiled brat with money like the last one.
This guy is cool and he makes the watches look cool.
What watch did Percy Fawcett wear ? I can’t seem to find any info on it
I'm curious of that as well. I know they found his compass in 1933 but I have never read anything about a watch.
Turtleneck + jacket = classy combo. Nice work.
Can somebody please explain in detail what pulling the pin on a Breitling exactly does? And what makes up the 10 thousand dollar cost he spoke of.
www.hodinkee.com/articles/hands-on-the-breitling-emergency-or-the-safest-weve-ever-been-with-a-watch
Nice
Here !
What model is that Daytona?
God, Hodinkee, can you feature anyone without any Rolex watch in his collection?!
Love the stepfather story
At least this guy doesn't have a bunch of Submariners. I'm just amazed no one has a G Shock.
Daniel Dae Kim mentioned he has one so thats one!
Lesson learned!... Never try to negotiate on beans when you wear a double red sea dweller 😂😂
10:16 Nice episode but are they drinking from those huge glass bowls ???
Do a talking watches with Luke Bryan! Seems to have some sweet pieces!!
Do talking watches with Ben Clymer
does anyone know if the breitling emergency has ever actually saved someones life?
To be fair though, I don't know anyone who's used the seamaster and planet ocean's helium escape valves neither. It's more of a quirky feature that is functional than a necessity. Like mechanical watches are a quirky thing that's functional, but not necessary in today's world.
I work for Breitling and there’s about 22 cases where it has been used for rescue operation.
