  • Computer Gaming World in 1987 called Falcon "one of the most detailed and accurate flight simulators on the microcomputer market today". It reported that a F-16 pilot with the 474th Tactical Fighter Wing "gave it good marks for accuracy". The game received 5 out of 5 stars Dragon, with 4 out of 5 stars for the DOS version.
Compute! praised Falcon's graphics, realism, and documentation.
The Falcon 4.0 series is one of the longest running game series using the same code base in the PC history, spanning well over a decade. This video shows its evolution from start to its end.

Falcon 3 is when I got acquainted with the series. Watching Falcon 3 video now instantly brought me back in my teenage days.

after 4.0 by micropose (and subsequent code leak) official development was halted and simmers (with or without) original programmers continued to develop upgrades for the sim resulting in updates like:freefalcon(2, 3 and 4 were most popular in series) SuperPack(s) , Realism Patch (aka RP) but code rights were bought by lead persuit around sp3 era who released an upgraded version of the original called F4 Allied Forces(it's main advantage was great stability over multiplayer) later, as falcon aged through OpenFalcon to BenchmarkSims aka BMS dev team the most up-to-date version is bms 4.33 update 3 which is almost rewriten from the ground up a complete map of updates can be found on wikipedia (direct link upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/ac/Falcon-4-history.svg ) it stops with 4.32 update6

@@UTUBMRBUZZ Falcon AT was in 1988. There is a previous version from 1987 just called "Falcon". There are a few videos here in RUclips (for example: "Falcon gameplay (PC Game, 1987)" by Squakenet
, ."FALCON (PC/DOS) CGA, 1987, Spectrum Holobyte" by Cap'n Driftwood
      ).

Falcon for the Commodore Amiga, was a abysmal, money grabbing, knock-off! The developers, were simply saw all that Amiga cash, just waiting to had! They didn't even TRY to utilize the superior graphics capabilities of the AMIGA. They just ported over the worst LOW-RES MS-DOS, version of the Falcon program they had lying around, and called it a done deal.
