Guadalupe Peak Summit Trail

Pliny, Mike, Eddie, and Jared met up in El Paso and headed about 2 hours east to Guadalupe Mountains State Park. Climbing to the "Top of Texas" had been on my bucket list for a while, and I am glad to have finally done it. Many people don't even realize there is a mountain just over 8,700 ft in the Lone Star state. Alltrails said this would probably take between 3 and 4 hours to get to the summit, but we made great time and made it to the top in 2:15. If you try this hike for yourself, definitely make a point to be in at least decent shape and bring sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and water - it's sunny, dry, and windy out there.
