    I was looking for a summer hat project. Im going to try this in a linen/cotton blend yarn I purchased from Premier months ago. Thank you. This pattern is much easier to follow than the one found on a very popular yarn site. Its also much denser and does not require elastic. Once again thank you. I work with elderly/disabled ladies. They love when I make them hats.

    The Bulky Yarn makes the hat so much more enjoyable to wear! Directions easily followed too. I made one while I was watching t.v. the other night. Cute too!

    I have just finished the beret. Really OMG! I also crochet a little thing (I am not sure what it is called) for the top of the hat which I have seen before store-bought berets. It came out so professional. Thank you for this basic, very easy understandable and short video 🌺

    Thank you for the tutorial, this came out very nicely. It measures 24” circumference when finished - I used a 4 weight. Too big for me but I made it for my mother in-law and her head is bigger. I may have to add one more row of decrease to be a better fit though. I do love how it looks, thank you.

    This is a beautiful hat!! Also, a question if you haven’t already answered it - How do you accommodate for a larger head? On the top section, do you just add a few more rows? How many more rows per inch beyond the size in your tutorial? Thanks!

    Don't know if you noticed this but when you were doing your chart for the increase but you said double crochet instead of single crochet which was what you were doing.
    It's okay because double crochet is single in the UK

      Did you follow the gauge provided in the pattern? Everybody's crochet tension is different. gauge allows you to adjust your hook size to match the designer. Gage watches are very important.

      I used a four weight it came out very cute- but it also came out to 24” circumference. Too big for my head but made it for my mother in-law and her head is bigger than mine. Debating on doing another decrease round to compensate. Still a lovely hat, very cute.

    Somehow I followed this pattern to a T, using what appears to be the same thickness yarn, and when it got to the part where you said it should be 10.5” inches roughly, mine was like 13-14” 😂 what have I done haha

      Mine was super big too. Lol I followed to the T as well. I’m downsizing to like row 16 to see how that works.

    nice tutorial. but the only thing that threw me off was at 4:45 you said "double crochet into each stitch and slip stitch to join". but in the PDF there's no mention of double crochet or slip stitching at the end of each row. Might want to correct that in the future.

    Hai, I love the pattern but I'm very new to this. My last round was the one with 18 stitches and then increase. I believe my yarn is even bulkier then yours because I'm already at the 10.5 inches, can i stop now or would you still recommend I'd go to the 20 stitches and then increase?

      I recommend that you stop there & start decreasing. Then do your even stitch rows, followed by decreasing.You will know when to stop decreasing when the hat fits your head

    In the first decrease row, how do you measure after how many stitche syou have to decrease
    My yarn is thinner than yours so my 10 inches complete on more rows than yours.

    I tried this but my baret is very small even a child can't fit. I will try this again and count my stitches well. The most important thing is I have got how it is done...
