Thanks Alex for such great information !! You convinced me to go in Florida to experience cyclig there and I did not regret it. I am just coming back from a trip in Florida where I cycled on The West Orange, Cross Seminole, Van Fleet, Withlacoochee and SOuth lake trail, Lake Monroe, etc.... all around Orlando and I loved it so much,. The trails and the landscapes were fabulous. !! Thanks again and continue to give us information as you always did. We love them!!
Glad to hear that! The whole purpose when I started doing the videos was to share that there is great cycling in Central Florida. As always! I’ll see you on the next ride experience! Ciao
Just spent the week looking for a place to live in central FL and purchased in Minneola. I saw a lot of cyclists in the town so I felt good about it. This video makes me feel even better thank you!
Thanks Alex, I’ve ridden the WOT many times and I love Winter Garden! Eventually I plan to ride all the way across the state starting up in New Smyrna, coming around Lake Monroe, Seminole Wekiva Trail to West Orange Trail, out through Clermont, Brooksville and down to St. Pete!
Thank you so much I’ve been wanting to do this West orange Trail for sometime now I think maybe I could just get a hotel or some Airbnb in the Winter Garden area and then take it from there and try to the whole thing east and west and then even into Claremont as a loop for the weekend.
Your videos are awesome & informative about all of the local Florida trails. Where I live currently we only have a few trails with decent scenery, but nothing like what you have in Florida. You have me very excited about riding all of the bike trails when we move there. I've been roller skating (real quad roller skates not those blades) & biking now more often for a few years now. I also do HIIT training on my home elliptical machine & also have an outdoor elliptical bike to get into better shape (I've done 21 miles on our trails on that beast a few times). I want to get into better shape before we move to Orlando in the future. I'm retiring from my job in a few years & am moving to Orlando to work part-time at Disney. I think that it's cool that your friend Mark works at Disney & that you ride with him around the area while learning useful Disney facts. Could you post some future videos with some comments showing what it looked like at Disney & the resorts during the pandemic? Could you & Mark tell me some really close places to Disney where we could move where I would not have to cross I-4 to get to work (we are having trouble narrowing down where to search for a new house)? Are there other trails in the Orlando area that you could highlight in the future? Thanks again for everything that you do with your channel.
Glad you are liking my content and that the channel has been of some help. I have other bike trail videos coming up. Disney does not provide safe cycling around its property so wherever you find a house you will have to drive. Know there are many different towns surrounding Orlando like Winter Garden, Windermere and Clermont. All great áreas, each one with its pros and cons. Depending on the location it’s 20 to 30 minutes from Disney. See you on the next video 🤙
@@TheRideXperience If I have to drive to get to the trails that is fine, but I want to be able to get to work as soon as possible @Disney without having to drive very far. Thanks for your help because I want to get to Walt Disney World as quick as possible. Could you ask your friend Mark that works at Disney for advice about getting hired at Disney, etc.? It's been my dream to work there for a while & I can't wait to move to Florida. I hope that I'm not overstepping by asking for advice from Mark , but I've learned in life that getting the best information from as many sources as possible is always the best. Thanks again for all of your help. Also, thanks for telling me about the safety issues about riding around Disney on a bike, but I just want to try it at least once if possible.
Nice overview of downtown Winter Garden. However, this video is not entirely of the West Orange Trail. **** Lake Minneola is not a destination on the WOT. You were only on the WOT for the first 5 miles before entering into Lake County where you transitioned to the Clermont- Minneola Trail. *** It is important to clarify for riders that the 22 miles of “West Orange Trail” are located in Orange County. The trail begins with mile 0 at Killarney Station (Orange/Lake County Line). The trail travels East towards the Winter Garden Station, mile 5.2, continuing East-Northeast towards Apopka Station, mile 18.2. There are mile markers set in the center of trail every tenth of a mile.
Thank you for your comment! Might need to do two new videos, one specifically about the WOT and one on the S Lake Trail. In cycling groups we usually just say we are Riding on the WOT, but technically most of it is the SLT if we go West.
The best place to begin your ride on the West Orange Trail is Downtown Winter Garden. Put Crooked Can Brewing Company, you can park there and ride west on the trail
Hi Alex, Great job covering the Local Central Florida trails. We're thinking about riding out from Plant Street Market to Bikes and Blades. We're on ebikes, so not sure about the roundtrip distance ? Also, any suggestions on the points of interest for this section of the West Orange Trail ? Thanks and Healthy Biking 😎👍
Thanks! From Killarney to Lake Minneola should give you around 25 miles round trip. When you get to Lake Minneola Historic Downtown Clermont will be to your right. There are some nice coffee shops and restaurants to chose from.
This trail is located in Winter Garden. Here is a post with more info and some routes: www.theridexperience.com/post/the-west-orange-trail-bike-trails-near-orlando
Congratulations Alex for the video, This is Glauber from Recife, that we sometimes communicate through WhatSapp, I was missing your videos, Thank you for continuing to present a dream that if God allows I will still fulfill!!!

That Orange Specialized is my dream bike.
Ha! It’s actually for sale, but it’s a size 58

Awesome, the coast to coast connector will be a nice experience.
Nice trail, I visited
Alex, thank you for putting together this series.
🤙
Thanks for the trail info. My wife and I are coming from Canada in March/2024 to bike several of the beautiful bike trails around Orlando.

@@TheRideXperience perfect! Thank you! Gonna head out there next Saturday for the farmers market. Thank you!!
Maybe moving to Orlando from California….normally go 20mph on my bike trail…was the best fast trails in Orlando
The west orange trail is one of the best and it’s also close to some of the best roads for cycling too
@@TheRideXperience Thank you for the reply back Alex..I've been watching over and over of your videos. I can't wait to get there.

As a local how can I ride with your group or find out about scheduled rides?
I think the best way would be on Facebook or Instagram @reginobike.co After our new shop is officially open we will resume group rides
