Wearing fragrance is easy; just a little spritz on your pulse points, and you’re good to go. But the best way to store it? Well, that can sometimes be confusing -which is why here at The Perfume Shop we’re sharing a few simple tips to help your favourite scent stay fresh for longer. Read on to discover why it’s a good idea to store perfume in the fridge (yes, you read that right!)
SHOULD YOU STORE PERFUME IN THE FRIDGE?
Yes, absolutely! Storing your perfume in the fridge is the best way to help it stay fresh, especially during the hot summer months. Sunlight, heat from radiators and changes in temperature can all destroy perfume over time, but when stored in the cool, dark fridge it can last for years.
KEEP PERFUME WITH FRESH NOTES CHILLED
Those sparkling citrus notes you’re hooked on? They may smell lively and energetic, but they’re also known for having a shorter shelf life as they tend to deteriorate quicker. So, chilling a refreshing perfume in the fridge not only keeps it more stable but also gives it maximum impact.
From lemon and grapefruit to orange, bergamot and mandarin, there are lots of irresistibly zesty options to choose from. However, we can’t recommend Acqua di Gioia by Armani enough, which comes with minty notes that reminds us of a mouth-watering mojito on a sweltering day.

The problem with the fridge thing for me is that when I wear warm weather scents, I usually take them with me that day to refresh cuz they don't last. I wear something different everyday so a decant wouldn't work for me.

You have no source for your information. The manufacturers themselves keep their fragrances in the fridge

The only problem, however, is that if you put it in the fridge, you have to keep it in there all the time….a person might take it out and forget to put it back in, either because he’s in a rush or it’s inconvenient. The drastic change in temperature will affect the fragrance molecules even more negatively than storing the fragrance in a consistent cool environment like a cool dark basement all year round.
