Just purchased a new Cub C C 30 H mainly for very minor trim mowing, Mainly will be used for weed control spray work, for 4 small gravel lots and surroundings dealing with season control….thank for video and happy mowing.
Happy Mowing? An oxymoron! Thanks
Manual states to, always, mow with the engine at full speed to gain advantage of fastest mower blade speed. If you wish to mow slowly, just use forward speed 1 or 2.
You are right.
Ive had mine since2020. I love it!
Congrats!
You da man!! Congratulations!!
I just bought one when my other riding mower quit after so many years and there are no mower repair shops around here anymore they've all retired so this is my first year with this I think it's adorable I have a large yard but I'll just take Section by section I can't wait to see if it goes through my gate to get to the areas on the other side of the fence I'm going to go check that out nice but thank you for the video is very informative because I had no idea about these cute little things. It fits me better.
I hope it fits through your gate. Happy mowing?
Nice video, getting the same mower tomorrow!
Get two? I guess one is okay. I hope you like yellow.
Mowed yesterday (7/8/21). More than a year after purchasing. As long as the mower is on RABBIT/Fast and you don't turn sharp fast (no mower platform wheels. Scalping!) I'm doing okay. Tip #1: When turning and mowing (on RABBIT) ... go slowly to reduce scalping. This isn't a great riding lawn trimming mower. Just a good one. The Cub Cadet cc30h should last at least a decade with proper care.
I love it.. Great post!
Same unit made by MTD, that makes Craftsman, Yardworks, Yardman, Troy Bilt, Columbia....and a few others I've forgotten about. Same machine different badgeing. Any parts or accessories for these mowers usually fits. Your key is universal, all large box stores carry spares, $3 /$4 bucks. Keep battery maintenance checkups updated for your area,(Canada - urgent need) Battery is also universal, buy only U1 Utility Battery 150 CCAs, as larger capacity works but have no additional benefit , double the price. There is a safety switch under the mulching guard. It can be finicky when plastic warps, troubleshoot there first if machine won't start.
Throttle Control (If equipped)
The throttle control is located on the
left side of the riding mower’s dash
panel. When set in a given position,
a uniform engine speed will be
maintained.
Push the throttle control handle
forward to increase the engine speed.
The riding mower is designed to
operate with the throttle control in the
FAST position (full throttle) when
the mower deck is engaged.
Pull the throttle control handle
rearward to decrease the engine speed cc30h manual I looked at the manual nowhere did I see low engine speed will cause harm?
I eventually read in the manual that mowing at the highest throttle speed is preferred. Here's a blurb from the manual. "Note: Keep the throttle/choke control (if equipped) or throttle control (if equipped) in the FAST (rabbit) position for the most efficient use of the cutting deck."
You should not mow with the throttle halfway down or on low. Always mow with high throttle because mowing in medium or low throttle makes the mower work harder. With high throttle you can get a better cut as well
Another fabulous video. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing the video. I've been looking at rear engine mowers because my yard isn't big and visibility seems like it would be better than front engine models
It has saved my shoulders. Less pain pushing a mower. If you have a bigger yard and wide enough gates I would get a larger riding most. Just say'n!
You are ALWAYS supposed to have the throttle in the fast position when you are mowing grass. That rattling you're hearing in the slow position is the sound of harm occuring to your mower. Read the owners manual!
You are right.
100%. Mower are air cooled and run the coolest at fast throttle.
Very soothing voice you should do broadcasting!
Thanks. I did work in broadcasting.
WOW!!!!
Amazing, but true.
Jesus...thx for the solid review! Well done, sir! I could listen to your soothing voice all day! How is the CC holding up after a year's usage?
After a few bumps into potholes and manhole covers. It still runs like new. There is a tiny rattling sound that irritates me. I've got to find where it comes from.
My dealer now has them. Price is now $2,290.000.
I like this product for it's size and ability to change oil.
Thanks for subscribing.
2021 models of the CC30H have a Briggs and Stratton engine. Some previous models an MTD.
Except briggs is bankrupt... I guess those were made last year. There won't be any more of those engines as they had to sell off everything.
Hey I have one love it ,I even put a roadrunner horn on it beep beep
The grass hasn't been growing much for two weeks. Maybe I'll mow next week. No horn for me. Siren?
Mulching up the neighbors leaves from there tree until thanksgiving
@@honestjohn6062Makes good compost.
Good review! Like the mower! Did I understand correctly? Your were mowing at a low throttle setting which made the engine noisy? A mechanic told me to always run your mower engine at full throttle. The air cooled engine will overheat at the lower settings.
Good tip. I just asked the internet. Confirmed.
@@robertlee4172 Yes, I was like you. I thought low engine RPMs would extend the life of the engine, but the lawnmower mechanic explained why I was wrong. Do you know if this CC30H is still being produced. I have not been able to locate one at any of the local dealers.
@@mikefruge8589 The local HD in Canada are liquidating the "Columbia" version of this mower. Got mine at $800 usd a week ago. The store manager said it's a discontinued item. I'm not 100% sure , but it sold out before June. Stores don't want inventory kicking around. Warehouse space is at a premium, for the new season.
But these mowers are all made by MTD, sold by Craftsman, Yardworks, Yardman, Troy Bilt, Cub Cadet....and a few others.
You are right. You can run around in low with the blade disengaged. It still doesn't like it. Just run on the RABBIT setting and things go a hella lot smoother.
@@mynormallife479 After a long non productive search for the CC30H, I decided to go with the Xt1 Intellipower 42 lawn tractor. I found one at home depot one evening. I went back the next morning it was gone. Tried to locate one, no luck. Tried to order one. Home depot said they were discontinuing it fro the Cub Cadet line they offer. What the hell? I just can't seem to get a break! I suspect the reason home depot was not getting anymore in was because that particular mower had a "chip" (China) to control the throttle, as in no mechanical cable. I noticed a local competitor to Home Depot had a very good price on a XT1 22 Horse Power 46. I bought it. So far it has exceeded my expectations. More mower than I wanted, but I think I can get used to it.
Hello from Australia🇦🇺. Great review mate. What is the fastest speed that this can mow at approximately? Cheers! 👍
It moves super slow. Maybe 4 miles and hour. That's my guess. Saludos from Tejas. Do you live near a beach? If so, I'm jealous!
@@mynormallife479 OK that is still a reasonably good speed. Thankyou for the reply. No I live about 15 minutes drive inland from the beach. 👍
I got troy belt virgin after watching this wish bought the club condet I get a light. This guy has to be 6 foot 4"
Thanks for the video. So this mower is 35" at its widest point? I'm thinking of getting either this one or the Troy-Bilt.
Yes, it fits through my 3 foot wide fence opening with an inch to spare.
You mentioned it has a Briggs & Stratton engine. Specs on it from the Cub Cadet site and Home Depot state it’s a Cub Cadet certified engine. I’m interested in purchasing this mower but also looking at a Craftsman from Lowe’s. It’s an identical build outside of name and color but has a Briggs and Stratton. I’m guessing they are all manufactured in the same plant. Does yours have the Briggs & Stratton name on it? Any info would be great, thanks so much for the video!
I prefer shopping at Lowe's. The Craftsman doesn't have an oil filter or the Hydrostatic transmission. Important points for me. I'll take a peak to see if the Briggs and Stratton engine logo is emblazoned anywhere. I don't mow for a couple days.
Appreciate the response. I agree with you, I usually favor Lowe’s more times than not. I live on the east coast and Lowe’s has available the Craftsman R140. It’s hydrostatic, with an oil filter. As I mentioned it’s identical outside of the Craftsman name, color, and perhaps the hose attachment on the deck. But it’s $100 more than the Cub Cadet. Leaning towards Home Depot on this one. Thanks again!
@@steveurban2881 Didn't know that. Texas doesn't have a lot of products and services other regions have. But we do have $1.39 regular gas. The Craftsman sounds like a good deal. Do you like red or yellow? I did get $100 off at Home Depot. Before taxes and with free assembled in the box shipping, $1395.
Steve Urban the motor is actually built in China, but I have heard nothing bad about them.
@@OBXIN Corporations are always looking for ways to cut labor costs. In China, they pay your basic engineer $1-2! Grunt assembly drones much less.
I was worried about the wheels being big creating deep treads. My son will cut for me but he’s never had ridding lawnmower either
Yes, while taking sharp turns you can cause turf damage. Ride with care.
No mention of battery. Covered most all else.
Yes, the battery was not connected during shipping. I had to tighten a few bolts and I was set. Tight squeeze to gain access.
So I just bought a used 2020 a month ago & so far I hate it but I did go from lawn tractor to this for space reasons. I feel like I have zero turn radius. I guess I didn't think about how small and 18-in turn radius really is I have to go over things and maneuver in and out go back and forth it takes longer to mow with this than it does my push mower I can't get to my curb because the tire stick out larger than the deck so you will end up flipping off before you can get a corner of your grass cut I don't know if it's just mine that's doing this or if something is wrong also the steering on mine is like driving a car with no power steering. I would like to know if anybody else's is like this because I did buy it used so I don't know
We got ours about three months ago, but for some reason we mow for about twenty minutes and it starts cutting out till it dies? Cools off and starts mowing again.changed plug and gas filter and breath filter but didn't fix problem. Any idea what the problem is.
It's still under warranty. Get it checked out!
I cannot start my new cub cadet April 18 2020 382 cc 30H rear engine..... light works but no click at all when starting....gas, oil all ok...disengaged blade...in park etc.......baffling!
I would call Cub Cadet. With the battery connected. Gassed up. Spark plug connected. The blade (PTO) disengaged. Throttle on high. Brake depressed. Turning the key should do the trick. Good luck.
Your description sounds like one of the safety cutoff switches is bad or is being activated and is cutting off battery power to the starter. Check each one including removing the mulching or side discharge guard. When installed it presses one of the safety switches, but I can see how lots of built up grass and dirt and a loosening of the wing nut might cause the switch to disengage. Clean it then reinstall making sure switch near the one wing nut is being pressed. My 2019 CC30H would crank, but would not start at 'spring awakening' on Apr 13, 2020. I used only 93 octane (less ethanol) gas its 1st season 2019. I used Sea Foam gas additive to guard against effects of ethanol and moisture in gas. I ran the gas tank dry to store it over the winter and occasionally trickle charged the battery. I added new 93 octane gas on Apr 13, 2020. For 5 days I occasionally attempted to start the engine. Each time it would crank just fine, but just would not start. Attempted with throttle on slow and fast, did not make a difference. Checked the air filter (fine), replaced the fuel filter (there was fuel in the hose both sides of the fuel filter) and spark plug. Still would not start. Two days of attempts after new fuel filter and spark plug, I decided to try starting one last time before calling Cub Cadet and guess what? It started. Has been fine since. I'm sure the carb was fuel starved, but why would it take five days of priming/attempting to start to work?? Just hope I don't have to go through this each spring. Tractor was on level surface and temps were upper 50s to low 60s each start attempt. And it started on first try when it was brand new. Hope this helps if you hadn't already received help from Cub Cadet.
Problem solved folks.....I had the blade engaged before trying to start.....figured out the lever was I wrong position....my bad!....Mower works great....thanks for all the helpful suggestions though....much appreciated!
Brilliant!
R U sur that's a Briggs&Stratton ? Looks just like my CC30H with the Chinese 382cc engine.......
That's what it says in the instructions.
How has this stood up?
I've had no issues. This machine is definitely designed for occasional small yard use. Perfect for me.
where you buy them at
Home Depot.
How is it on hilly lawns
Not very good. This is not a beast!
I just ordered one. What’s a good height to set it to?
Medium (3) is generally good. Since this is a small mower, any modest irregularities in the lawn may cause scalping at level 2. I have had issues scalping the lawn at level 2 while making sharp turns. The tilting mower scalps. So be warned. Life is tough in the 'burbs.
Base on my lawn which is stumps and bumps. I use one in front in nice area I use 5 around stump bushes the nice thing is can some time pop a wheeler by going in reverse then forward and lean back fast over a stump just like my push mower.
How do you change the blade?
Carefully? This is a new mower. I haven't changed even the oil.
does this cut rile small reverse manoeuvres are done, thank-you in advance
Cuts going forward. Prefers in fast! Slow ... acts up! No cutting in reverse!
That is not a Briggs and Stratton engine it is a Chinese engine . I have the exact same Model only the Troy-bilt name is on it. It will not go in reverse with your blades running unless you switch the key to do so.Don't take it on inclines or hills the turn radius sucks. You paid too much !.We speak english not spanish
racist bitch.
