Dastgāh: Māhūr
This original instrumental composition by Sami Yusuf was written for tanbour and ensemble. Featuring dazzling solos, it embodies the essence of Khorasani sound, particularly that of the province of Lorestan, in its forceful driving rhythms and spiritual exuberance. Rich in its power, it awes the listener with its echo of Divine Majesty.

THE CONCERT
Recorded and filmed at the Dubai Opera on the 16th of December 2016, this concert explores traditions from over one thousand years of the cultural and sacred music of Andalusia, North Africa, Arabia, Khorasan (Greater Persia) and Asia. Sung in multiple languages (including English, Arabic, Persian, Urdu, Punjabi, Azeri), this exhilarating performance by the multi-instrumentalist, composer and renowned singer Sami Yusuf brings together world-class musicians from around the globe to take listeners on a musical journey of discovery.

This man, Genius & bountifully blessed, deserves much more recognition than he gets. He's known in the muslim world for Al-Muallim and other songs from that generation. But at this stage of his career, the level mastery and the beauty of ALL his live performances is staggering. His musical pieces with his band, accompanied by orchestras from around the world, might be the closest thing Muslim societies, with the diverging richness of their cultures, have ever gotten to a version of classical music.
This SAAMI Yusuf needs to be known by the world. The nobility, complexity, and sheer beauty of his music are a bright light in a world falling to civilizational darkness.
May Allah continue to bless him. May he use him to do whatever is better for him!
