    Thank you! Just got the original GO:Mixer barely used for a great price, dont need to use Roland app, works great with built in Voice memos app if dont need video. Plan to get the Pro version as well in the future, for that phantom power. Like the small size of this one though.

    Well now i'm just mad at myself for not realizing this existed before buying the regular one. Trying to use it as an audio interface for live dawless jams into a mac is possible, but you have to go through a couple extra hoops to isolate the audio. Would have saved so much headache...

    The PRO model seems a bit pointless. If you need phantom power or need for stand-alone mixer (not using as audio interface for camera), just seems to make more sense to buy an actual mixer.
    I'm happy with my original GO:Mixer. I just wish there was either a longer cable to interface with the iPhone and/or some sort of clip to secure it to a mic stand or tripod. Since it doesn't weigh much, I just let it dangle from the tripod after wrapping the cable around a pole to keep it from coming unplugged on accident.

I do have a iphone 6 but I cbf using its battery to power this

    I just got the GO:Mixer, and while I knew it needed a phone for power, it also seems that you have to have a compatible app running on your phone for the device to even work as a mixer? Is that the same with the GO:Mixer Pro when running on batteries? Does a phone need to be connected with an app running for the mixer to function? Thanks!!!

    This is about the Go:Livecast Pro : so, honestly I did not go through
    the comments, if anybody mentioned this, I'm sorry to bring it up
    again...but a worldwide known company like Roland, coming out with a
    product, that has a mono (!!!) output in 2019 is just beyond
    unimaginable and bad in every way possible...was really excited to get
    this and i have been using since may (not been able to work cause of
    covid and my friend actually bought it for me for a hefty $250). I am
    still speechless, how can they do such a mistake! Now I am stuck with
    this and even tho I like the video features, (main stream is with
    iPhoneX and additional satellite cam is with iPad5thgen and thats cool)
    Roland is a music equipment company for the most part so I am just
    total clueless, why...anybody had anything to say about this?

    Does the "Monitor OUT" line only play direct sound (which hasn't passed through the iPhone), or can you tell the iPhone to send the processed audio back to it. For example, if you want to plug a guitar into the Roland Go Mixer, have the signal go into the iPhone effect pedal app, and back out to the Roland Go Mixer OUT. Is that possible? Thanks!

    • @flatlandcircuitry
      @flatlandcircuitry 3 года назад

      Facebook and RUclips only use mono for audio due to lower bandwitdth, so even if you record in stereo when listening online you will only hear mono.

    • @TonyChenMusicOfficial
      @TonyChenMusicOfficial 3 года назад

      @@flatlandcircuitry Thanks, so do you know how we can achieve LIVE video with stereo sound?

    • @flatlandcircuitry
      @flatlandcircuitry 3 года назад

      @@TonyChenMusicOfficial The USB-output of the Go Mixer sends a stereo signal into the connected equipment, but for Android phones the signal converts to mono. The headphone output probably also sends a stereo signal, I haven’t tested. If the platform you are casting on live only use mono, your stereo signal will be converted to mono regardless of your stereo efforts....however if you are DJ’ing live for example using an amplifier and speakers the signal won’t be converted.

      Yes, you can use it as an audio interface. Beware though if your are into audio purism that it just records in 16-bit where as most pro equipment records at 24-bit. Still perfectly fine though for web, home and amateur use! Also, you can´t mix singing/playing with the playback from the smartphone connected to GO:MIXER via USB, and record them into the smartphone via USB at the same time. For that use, you will need the PRO version which has a loop back on/off switch.

    The Roland Camcorder app is very basic to a point its close to unusable without postprocessing. Atleast for android, there are other cameraapps that has basic functions like screencrop, resolutionsettings and some filters that will make the Go:mixer worth the $100. The mixer is really cheap and plastic and it is far from clean in the signal path. Using it with CameraMX and a longer USB cable, it does the job as advertised for posting decent quality clips to social media. Pro not so much.
