This is only the second ever diesel 7-esque I've ever encountered, the other was a Sierra 2.3D Vindicator. I don't mean to sound critical but your long gear lever is somewhat ungainly given it's not a sequential type. I case you think I'm an armchair critic I've built 4 of them.
The only time I've measured ,with mixed driving ,saw 46mpg. That was with a binding brake and the diff ratio was too high. 50+ will be easily achievable
