David Draiman is a powerful singer with a distinctive voice. His ad-libs are iconic. Glad to see your continued foray into metal music. It's off-putting for many but I grew up with it & respect anyone willing to give it a listen. 😊
David, the lead singer is classically trained as well as trained in opera. His voice is amazing, and haunting at times. I do think that you will be amazed with thier Sound of Silence video. I extremely wish you could experience that video and song. I think your mind will be blown. Great reaction, and enjoying watching your voyage into other genres!
Honestly the sound of silence is a great performance by disturbed but I feel like it's over played and alot of people only know them for that performance while they have an extensive catalog of amazing original music
i love your reactions to rock and metal music, your pure emotions on instruments is like me 15 years ago when i started listening to this music. my english is bad, i dont understand 80% of your reviewing but emotions have no language bro, i feel what you feel. thank you a lot for content!
TEDDYGREY LISTEN MAN… if you want *gold* like this you HAVE to check out *old* Three Days Grace with Adam Gontier as lead. My recommendations are; Home, I Hate Everything About You, Pain, Break, Animal I Have Become, and Chalk Outline. Three days grace is a good starter band as well coming into rock. I started listening to rock as a kid and this was one of my favs. 🖤🖤🎸🔥🔥 Three days grace split around 2014 from Adam and he has a new band called Saint Asonia and they’re pretty bada** too!
Loving your journey into Rock! Excited for your Bring Me the Horizon and other future reactions!! Your reactions are some of the best. I am a big fan of how you pause to analyze all aspects of the song and playback what you enjoy! ☺️
Disturbed is my favorite Metal band of all time, love seeing you react to their music! you should check out their Asylum album, my personal favorite. Songs: Asylum, Another way to die, the animal, my child, never again, serpentine... Pretty much the entire album is amazing. Oh also "the warrior"
Do you plan to "visit" Finland on your rock/metal journey I wonder? Cuz *"Poets of the Fall - Carnival of Rust"* is, like, the most beautiful song with the most beautiful vocals, like, ever. I'm not kidding. Also *War* by them is up there, too. Besides anything by *Amorphis* (no matter old or new) and *Eternal Tears of Sorrow* is fire. For the old Amorphis I really recommend *The Way, Divinity,* and *Greed* (the whole *Tuonela* album, really). For the "new" Amorphis you can start soft with *House of Sleep, The Smoke, Empty Opening,* and *Amongst Stars* and go all the way to *The Bee* and *The Golden Elk.* For Eternal Tears of Sorrow, there's *Red Dawn Rising,* and *Sakura No Rei* flowing seemlessly into *Sinister Rain.* Brilliant. I also recommend Sweden with their awesomest band, *Sabaton.* Pick any song, they're all great. Personally I'm very partial to *Defense of Moscow* (which is a cover song of Radio Tapok, but it was written precisely in the style of Sabaton, so them doing a cover really feels like them playing their own song). TL;DR, Finland and Sweden are places to visit for some cool metal bands.
That "squeal" the guitarist did is known as a "pinch harmonic". Its done by striking a note with the pick and with the thumb (lightly) immediately after. It causes the squeal which is then accentuated with a bit of vibrato. Its a very common "trick" in metal and rock. It was originally made popular by the late great Eddie Van Halen.
Congratulations on catching “ The Sickness “ of Metal and feel you have been “Stricken” as I can see you feeling that 💩in your bop. Welcome to the Fold! You earned a sub. Love the way you pick stuff apart. 🔥🤘😈🤘🔥
So glad you listened to this bro, its a classic!! Excited to see whats next! You're like the twin of a lad at work I manage, accent, thought process, looks, Ive shown him your reaction videos and him and his girl are creeped out that he has a confirmed doppelganger!
I went to their first show in Brazil and it was amazing, I really like them!!! Fui ao primeiro show deles no Brasil e foi incrível, gosto muito deles [PT/BR]
There 4 songs that you got to listen to sound of silence , hold on to memories , the light and a reason to fight are some of the songs from disturbed that you will understand and the feeling that come from them are so real
David Draiman is also a Hazzan/Cantor, which is why he can make all those cool chanting sounds and awesome runs with his voice. 🥰 Love that you're diving into rock and metal! The waters are fine. 🤌💯
And also disturbed has been around since 2000 so dreamin is a very big icon as a vocalist and disturbed hazardous album badman. And Africa with the name of the tourist bad man. Something but we're gonna go see him. I can not wait the 6.
Interesting fact: the scene with the in the boiler room. It's the same asylum that A Nightmare On Elm Street was filmed in. The almost never filmed this video because the boiler room freaked out (I think) the guitarist. Yes, lead singer is called David Draiman.
David Draiman is such an interesting and humble person. The Charismatic Voice did a long interview with him a few months ago, I recommend it if you're interested in learning where his roots etc come from.
After the few days I’ve watched your reactions to Ronnie and FiR and the change shows man. I’m so glad you have went from rock had taken you from that dark place to seeing you actually just rocking out with us rock/metal heads. I genuinely enjoy your content man. Keep it up
The squeal you rewound for is called a pinch harmonic. The guitarist frets a note like normal, but you have to pick the string and then catch it with your thumb immediately afterwards. It takes a bit of practice to get the technique down but it creates this artificial harmonic tone that the pickups amplify and it causes that high-pitched squeal. You can change the tone depending on where abouts you pluck the string and what note you were fretting. It can be really expressive!
Please more disturbed reactions this band got me through so many dark times as a kid. A couple reactions I'd love to see would be, the game, 10,000 fists, Liberate, sound of silence, land of confusion, stupify, just stop, prayer, warrior, shout 2000. Ill stop there lol
I am loving watching someone find rock and embracing it from a musical standpoint. With how your enjoying disturbed you should go to korn or slipknot, I think youll love the styles and vocals.
The song IS about a woman, but I believe he mentioned in an interview once or something that it was actually but his girlfriend at the time took her own life and he found her after work... so uh... yay metal...
I am absolutely LOVING your journey!! I listened to Disturbed through so much of my teenage years. I wanted to recommend 'Inside the Fire' 🙌 heartbreaking and dark music video but that song is just 🤌🔥
This song came out in 2000 this was part of their downloaded sickness album, which was their first album in 2000 so they've been around for a while. And then disturbed wonder the high 80s and they get more fans. And Raymond was debating suicide. He was. Hes joined the Lincoln Park.
I love watching you get into rock/metal! I have been into rock since a child since that is what my dad always listened to. Before I got into Kpop that was mostly all I listened to! I have been to so many concerts and they are all so good live! I would recommend Metallica, Avenged sevenfold and Ghost. All of which I have seen live and they are just as good live as their studio versions!
Yes! Yes! Yes! I SOOOO love watching you react to rock/metal! You enjoy ALL music and I adore that. You should try Sound of Silence (different sound) but also Indestructible with the lyrics over the video. Disturbed is my top #1 band these days. David is so incredibly talented and the band is SICK!
Beartooth is a good band to get into the metal thing their songs are amazing they will touch you in another way you have to listen to the song "the lines" its amazing what they do with their voice please i love your reactions on metal music
It was about suicide. The 2 felt that song was very oldso. Strickened was very dark as well. Dreamin lost his wife when you end 2000 so when he written the song down with the sickness, and eventually he did lose his wife from suicide, including his baby, and then he found another wife, so he does have a child daughter and he is married.
It’s probably already been recommended, but just in case- if you’re checking out Linkin Park please please listen to Numb, and then check out Hongjoong’s cover of the song!
@teddygreyonstuff with how you react to guitar stunts I sincerely hope someone has put Zakk Wylde on your radar. A good entry point would be Black Label Society - Fire It Up. I’ve seen Zakk live a handful of times and the man absolutely shreds! I’m slowly making my way through your “Journey Into Metal” playlist after catching your reaction to Korn’s Freak On A Leash and I gotta say I’m hooked. Watching you digest my teenage anthems after a first listen and your reaction to the lyrics in these songs is absolutely awesome. Much love my dude!
David Draiman is a powerful singer with a distinctive voice. His ad-libs are iconic.
Glad to see your continued foray into metal music. It's off-putting for many but I grew up with it & respect anyone willing to give it a listen. 😊
Disturbed is gold. Pretty much anything is a banger. Love seeing the rock journey
most of it
The sound from the guitar is called a pinch harmonic
"The Vengeful One" official video has to be next!!!
Pretty sure I heard somewhere that he was a temple singer in Israel as a child too
@@sammy13ificationable that’s absolutely true. He’s been hitting high harmonies since youth. Such an underrated vocalist and such a good guy too.
@@sammy13ificationable No, not in Israel. He trained as a cantor (synagogue singer) but didn't do it 'cause he realised metal was his passion
Plus his throat condition
Im so here for Teddys metal adventure. This is great content
Yeah, he´s getting cured one song at a time.
Love how people are still discovering this stuff, it's wild and amazing.
Sound of silence both versions are amazing. I reckon you’d love Lacuna Coil though and some Korn.
Fuck yeah, especially Korn.
Honestly the sound of silence is a great performance by disturbed but I feel like it's over played and alot of people only know them for that performance while they have an extensive catalog of amazing original music
Yes Sound of Silence gets my vote
@@its.billy_bitchan Elite catalogue.
I recently discovered Lacuna Coil. The opening to Veneficum makes me feel like a legend.
In my top 5 favorite songs from them easily. This band has stopped me from pulling the trigger on myself so many times
Love your reactions. You're 💯% Metalhead, and I mean that in a good way.
i love your reactions to rock and metal music, your pure emotions on instruments is like me 15 years ago when i started listening to this music. my english is bad, i dont understand 80% of your reviewing but emotions have no language bro, i feel what you feel. thank you a lot for content!

2:43 I knew that pinch would get him xD
THIS and Evanescence are the stuff I love, & I'm glad you like them. These guys rock, been listening to them since childhood.
i love disturbed, his vocals are amazing. brings me back to my middle school days in 2006.
You'll never go wrong with Disturbed. Please check out 5 Finger Death Punch and Linkin Park
Linkin Park is a huge mood
1 2nd the 5 Finger Death Punch
7:09 Hey, That's Ian Crossland.
I've seen them live twice, and will again. It should be on everyone's bucket list.
Agreed but it will never beat them live in there prime.
You gotta react to react to The Sound of Silence! It's so different compared to the other 2 songs you heard!

Haha! Pinched harmonic on the guitar! I love doing Pinched Harmonics! I love the reactions!! I appreciate your honesty in your reactions too!!
3:01 yeah this technique is a pinch harmonic. The tone in this song always reminds me of Zakk Wylde circa No More Tears with Ozzy (which I love).
And also disturbed has been around since 2000 so dreamin is a very big icon as a vocalist and disturbed hazardous album badman. And Africa with the name of the tourist bad man. Something but we're gonna go see him. I can not wait the 6.
Have found your channel few days ago and rewatch old song with your live reactions made my day. TY Teddy!
Interesting fact: the scene with the in the boiler room. It's the same asylum that A Nightmare On Elm Street was filmed in. The almost never filmed this video because the boiler room freaked out (I think) the guitarist.

I am absolutely LOVING your journey!! I listened to Disturbed through so much of my teenage years. I wanted to recommend 'Inside the Fire' 🙌 heartbreaking and dark music video but that song is just 🤌🔥
That sound your hearing on the guitar the squeals sound is called a pinch harmonic and yes they are epic when placed correctly
