- Here's an early look at 9.0 shadow priest. I go over the best legendary, covenant, soulbinds, conduits, talents, pvp talents, etc.
This are still quite new so they might change (mostly for pve reasons for the mythic world first race) so I'll probably make an updated and more detailed guide when the season starts and things settle down.

Went vault of heavens. Paired with move with grace finesse conduit we can essentially have 2 extra escape tools with 1 min cd each, something that'll prove damn useful with how melee zugs shape up being for first season
And super fun to play as well.
But you lose the ability to grip others if they are getting in trouble

FYI if you kill the target you STM on you lose the STM buff (as in, no more cast while moving etc). It's still really good to straight up get a second void form however.
Thanks for the guide. I’m really not enjoying shadow pvp so farm this season (even though the spec is so much stronger than in bfa). Every game is just instant damnation and unfurling them desperately try to survive insane burst that ALWAYS is focused on me. After 20 seconds, my partner has killed something or I’ve run out of defensives and I’m dead. I really hope they tone-down damage across the board in pvp because it’s not fun being tunnelled for 200% of my max hp in the first 10 seconds.

I prefer Psyfiend over Void Shift, but I mostly play bgs. It's not only a great slow on the move, but it also provides tactical healing reduction. Also, if it's anything like beta, it'll hit hard against world bosses.

If target of STM dies, i think you lose all the nasty buffs from it (insanity generation, cast while moving), so it basically a risky insta void form

I'll craft painbreaker psalm first. Sounds fun as hell, and also could lead to insane burst. Mind games with 3 dots into SW:D into Damnation means basically you lose 0 dot pressure and have on demand high burst and pressure.

Surrender to Madness is a bit weird. The increase in insanity-generation & the ability to cast while moving only lasts for 25 seconds or until the target dies. You are in Void Form only for 15 seconds. As soon as the target dies, you lose the insanity-generation / cast while moving part but you still keep Void Form for however long you have left. So you don't get as much value as you think.
Surrender to Madness is scary to use but i didnt think about killing clones, pets or totems to stay alive. Im going to try that also

The cast while moving and double insanity generation part of surrender to madness only work while you are attacking the thing you surrendered. So if you surrender something weak and kill it istantly you "only" get a free voidform.

Rogues and warriors are the problem..
(Rogue can be dealt with, CC'd off, same with warrior.)
Boomkin can just one shot you with a procced Star Surge.
I know this, because it's happened to both my Shaman and hunter partners.
30k and 33k each. Instant. Not the same game ofc. Rets damage, survival and healing.. Instant healing.. lol
sure, Rogues with a specific legendary are very strong. But they are easily CC'd.
Rets and boomkins are a much bigger problem imo.
@@Gulliedoutbigup yeah, Boomkin/SP is a disgusting comp. Ret/WW is also disgusting
honestly in my personal experience with Surrender to Madness the casting while moving doesn't even come into play if you're using on a totem or something that despawns. I use it all the time for dungeons and as soon as the target with the debuff dies, I can no longer cast / channel while moving. I do however stay in the voidform and benefit from the insanity generation as far as I can tell.
The comment I was looking for and I second that. If you Surrender to Madness on a low hp character or totem, then the casting while moving is irrelevant. Here is my next question thought, but why Blizzard, why ?!
@@gc1789 forreal right? i guess i can understand though since S2M ends when the debuff is no longer present in the fight. however bc it gives voidform you atleast retain that until the 15 seconds is up when S2M falls off

May i ask something? So Lasting Plague makes your Devouring Plague to last 6 more seconds on the target. But isn't that takes off the burst of this ability..? Because it does the same amount of damage, but in a longer period of time. So in Arenas i get it's good to have some constant pressure. But for 1v1 and duels where you want to burst someone down fast, isn't it a bad talent?
Also Devouring Plague stacks..? I've tried it on my lower level alt priest and the dot doesn't stack on the same target. It just renew the dot.

getting back to the game for 9.0.5 leveling and going to be g earing my priest, wonder how hard it will be to find partners for pvp again
the thing is once your target dies with surrender to madness im pretty sure you just revert to normal void form
could be wrong, but in pve anyway, if you Surrender a target, you can only move and cast while the mob is alive. as soon as the mob is dead, you keep the voidform, but you lose the double insanity and move while casting. So if you hit it on a totem, the totem would die, you keep voidform, but you don't get the movement or double insanity. Is this not how it works?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but for 2s SP+Frost Unfurling Darkness make sense only when you agreed to play cleave style without cc chain, which is really specific case. Otherwise you have to double dot one target and it's kinda weird, I guess?
So secondary stats is Crit-Haste-Mastery-Vers? and all gets buffed if i fear or silence the enemy? Also think painbreaker could be rly good with damnation and Ufurfilling darkness. Gonna have huge uptime on Vampire touch and shadow word pain and also Plague and using Death for huge bursts and still be able to reapply the dots instantly. Dont you think Talbard strategem could work in pvp? I mean playing with damnation the uptime of all 3 dots will be alot with the 60% bonus dmg

How do you feel about relentless or Sephuz?
As human i play relentless trinket with 20% Cc reduction, but it does not stack with Sephuz does it?
Would it be better to go relentless + Contemplation or to ditch relentless trinket and go Sephuz?

Sucks you can't craft good legendaries for ring + boots, would be the best ones since it's the only slots from pvp vendor where you can't have haste + versa
What about the disc legendary, that reduces the cooldown of SWD by 8 sec? With damage being so bursty the reduced cooldown seems really valuable.
Anboni, which legendary would you suggest for RBG?
DOes sephuz legendary works with pvp trinket which reduce cc 20%?

You didn't talk about these much but do you think Psyfiend and Mind Trauma have a place in pvp at the moment in that open optional pvp talent spot?
To many mandatory abilities we have to use as pvp talents unfortunately.
The only thing I miss about bfa is conflict and strife 🤣
Sneaky psyfiend can sometimes work against double meele who tunnel your partner.
Mind trauma totally useless, you need way longer to finish a full channeled mind flay
I like to test my supreme disc priest skills against the shadow priest see what’s better then everyone talks about shadow yet I’m wiping everyone under my disc pretty easily

hmm.. skillcapped says something really different. They say talbadars is best bcs its the only one that cannot be countered and its good dmg increase

Since all the sp legendaries are pretty meh, I have opted to craft Crystalline Reflection disc lego, where your power word shield has an instant heal and reflects dmg. You can still use it as sp. Big brain play or am I an idiot?
Depends on comp, it can break cc
i did research too for pve it seems that Kyrians have the most effectif dps gain

Legendary Sephyz (-10 % cc) can stacked with soulbind (-25 %cc) ?
And can it stacked both with pvp-trinket for extremely -20% cc ?
Wont stack with trinket 100%. As for conduit - highly doubt it, but need to test
