- Wooowww it's been ages since I last posted a video! I'm so sorry guys 3rd year is kicking my butt and making it really hard to edit videos. This winter semester is a bit lighter though, so hopefully I can get more videos out for you guys to enjoy!
Sooo another move in vlog...are you surprised? Lol. I hope you guys enjoy this video and a dorm tour is definitely going to be posted, but the question is when...lol.

Omygosh what storage place did you use
I’ve been using access storage since first year!
this was nice! i stayed in 90U in my first year, and i am now going into my second year. i thought they only allowed first years to stay in 90U, can you apply in any year? i haven’t gotten a response to housing applications yet so i am just anxious. thank you!
So yeah I was shocked to be placed in 90u but I needed somewhere to live and after continuous emails asking if they had space or not they let me know that’s all they had left so I took it. U likely won’t be able to rank it as an option since it does disappear from the portal very quickly but later on in the summer rooms may open up and that’s how I got it cuz I definitely did not rank 90u as any of my choices haha. Housing offers don’t usually come in until July/August because you’re no longer a guaranteed housing offer student, but that doesn’t mean you won’t get placed it’s just more of a gamble. I will say every summer I get my offers in august and i think some of it is attributed to me emailing them and asking when’s an offer gonna come or if no offers can u let me know so I can move on. Housing wants to fill as many rooms as they can so if I want a room and someone else is taking their time…whose likely to get an offer…me. Lol so that’s how I’ve been approaching it.
@@nursingwithugwu that’s smart! the only options that were available for me to apply were annex and hs and they were quite expensive. i have been keeping an eye on the housing billboard to see if people are putting out rooms they are no longer interested in but i think there’s still time yet.
so do i start emailing the housing department now or wait till around july/august? and do you think i have a chance of getting a room on campus at this rate?
@@ny2794 if you haven’t heard anything by end of July, I’d start emailing first week of August. The likelihood of getting a room on campus so ur referring to basically first year dorms is slim in my opinion but not impossible but because there are CAs, Team leads, all these other ppl that need rooms before you chances become lower. So I’d say email them come august and keep a lookout for off campus apartment housing…like I said it’s a gamble unfortunately :/ but hopefully u win big :)
@@nursingwithugwu yeah i really hope to get one. were you able to get on-campus housing every year in your time at uottawa if you don't mind me asking? i have only been in ottawa for my first year and don't know where to start with off-campus housing :/
Yeah I've been able to get uottawa housing every year. Some years the dorms were closer to campus then others but none were ever too far. Young living is a popular company that many off campus students live in their apartments. Otherwise many student off campus live in the sandy hill neighbourhood since it's really close to uottawa. I'm not really much help tho since I haven't lived anywhere but uottawa dorms but hopefully what I've said offers some guidance.
would you recommend annex or Hyman soloway for residence as a first year?
annex imo
As a first year it really depends on what you want. If you have the meal plan Hyman soloway is the better option since it’s closer, but also if you plan on making all ur meals then Annex is just nicer in general.
do you have any rents to recommend me other than UOttawa's residences?
I know some people who rent from THEO Residence or smart living properties.
