I just replaced the battery. As VF3W is not available I can confirm that battery VF1C has the same connector and is working, although it has less capacity
Great video - thank you. Mine filled with water last weekend in a deluge. Never been opened before but it's in two halves now. Fingers crossed it dries out successfully.
Ant at 3 o'clock!! Sorry I mean 15:00. Thanks for this. Do you know how to cure the condensation issue on these please? I know they fix it under warranty but mine is old. Is there a DIY fix?
my tomtom is same model it gets like a moisture cloud across the screen once i haave been riding half an hour what is causing that and what can i do to stop this damp getting into the screen
There's a tiny air vent in the case that should let moisture out. I've experimented with putting a few silica gel beads in behind the circuitboard and they seem to absorb any moisture in the air.
Any idea if the hardware is the same on the 450? After a crash my tomtom wont get any GPS connection anymore. The outside is cracked where the GPS antenna is. I have an old 400. I might want to swap the circuitboard so of the two. Thanks in advance
bit of long shot but why not, i live in the UK, can you give me a link where i can get a battery, ebay is a minefield, or can you fix mine, i can post it out. thank you.
ciao, ho spaccato il pulsante di accensione del mio tomtom rider 40.Potresti darmi il consiglio su come reperirlo? attualmente per accenderlo ho usato del silicone nero ma è inguardabile.Aiutatemi perfavore
It sounds more like that part of the screen connector has corroded. You might need a new circuit board instead. Or that connector might just need cleaning with a cloth and electrical cleaner.
I honestly couldn't tell you, I've not held one in my hands to compare. I doubt they would change the design a whole lot, and as you can see from this video, it's easy to take one apart and see for yourself. Just be gentle and if you get stuck, reverse your steps.
Hello mate. I followed the video to change the battery. Unfortunately I can't find one on the web. It's a VF3W 3,6v 322mAh P/N : LHA11133000 I don't know where to find one. If you have any idea to make my 400$ brick alive… I would take it !
seems like VF3W is not available, but from pictures the connector of VF1C or VF6M might fit. Altough it is only 1/3 of the capacity, but seems the only available option.
Excellent, thank you 😊
Thank you so much, clean vidéo and tuto, mine as water inside, the top switch rubber is cracked.
Did you manage to get a switch rubber? Mines cracked and I can’t find a replacement

Mine just died today, thank you for your comment!!!

First video I've seen of teardown of tomtom, very clear and complete explanation. Also great tip to avoid stripping the threads, thank you!
Thanks for the teardown. Shame I can't seem to find a replacement battery anywhere for it! Atleast it still works while plugged in I guess.
Thank you. Very clear instruction.

If I get water in it and the screen stops working (wnt let me press anything on the left) should I just replace the screen?
