Thanks, finally someone breaks it to something understandable for average people. Thank you very much! Looking forward for next parts of this!

Thanks. Hopefully part 2 was interesting, part 3 is coming along and hopefully it will help viewers understand the role of various color spaces and how the pieces fit together.

Thank you for an extremely well presented video of a subject that I knew little about, but now need to understand having I've just purchased a BenQ SW271C. Nigel (UK)

    Hello Wayne,
I watched (and rewatched) all of your color management videos and want to thank you for taking the considerable time and effort to produce them.
You use the ColorThink software to great effect throughout the videos and my question concerns your experiences using it in the Apple Mac world. Has it proven technically reliable - free from crashes primarily - and is it actively supported by Chromix? I ask because I’ve downloaded the software and am running it in their pre-purchase “demo” mode and have encountered crashes in the 3d modeler that invoke the “report” an error to Chromix while performing the File -> Save as QuickTime operation. The ability to capture and transmit to my clients their out-of-gamut information is crucial to my consulting aims.
Any insights you could provide would weigh very heavily in my $399 purchase decision.
    Thank you,
    Jeffrey

I haven’t used the output to QuickTime. I use a screen capture application (such as QuickTime or ScreenFlow) when recording the output of ColorThink. I just tested the save to QuickTime and it doesn’t seem to work on my m1 MacBook Pro. Not sure if that’s related to using rosetta or if it’s a bug overall. I haven’t had any issues with it, no crashes or other problems. It does seem to work fine on my M1 MacBook Pro, although I haven’t used it extensively (all of my color management videos were made while using my 2019 Mac Pro).

@@cwaynefox , thanks Wayne. I’m using an M1 Mac Studio so I’ll pull the trigger and get the software. When I have to capture I’ll follow your lead and use QT or ScreenFlow.

I watched all nine videos in this series and put them to use. I can't thank you enough for sharing so much of your time and expertise!!! I was fumbling around in the dark trying to get reliable prints until I could step back and understand the concepts that you so effectively presented. This series has been a total game-changer for me. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
