finally! a video where there's no bs vlogger trying to just show off their trip to turkey. thank you for the tips! really helpful in planning.
Normally I do not comment on any video, but the way you explained is the best one....
I liked this clarifying video. I was in Istanbul back in 2016, and on my way to Taksim from Sultanahmet, I made the wrong turn and ended up in Tarlabasi. It was late at night, and it did look like walking in some areas of my own city (Lima, Peru) that I would think twice about entering during the evening. Anyway, I appreciated this part 2. Thanks!
You were correct. Kadikoy was pleasant, convenient and good value. I both rented rooms in budget hotels and an apartment by the week.
I came with my family from US on 6/13 and still in Istanbul,First 8 nights we stayed Sultan Ahmed area, and now Bayrampasa for 10 nights and renting a van for round trip is $61 a day.We are going back sultan Ahmed area on Friday for 4 more nights that we will depart on Tuesday. The best place is Sultan Ahmed area to Fatih area because you don’t need a taxi nor a van everything is walking distance.
Would never listen to an US citizen
Taxi drivers are robbers

Thanks for your update which we have found very useful and clear and we really do appreciate the advice.
Thank you, extremely straightforward and useful.
Great visual!!! Don’t worry about the complainer, yes you clearly showed where one should stay in Asia. 👍👏
Your statement with Kadiköy was funny haha , thank you for all your suggestions. Greatings from Germany :-)))
I have seen many different videos but the way your video works is very very useful and is very truly understandable now I need to know about some nice hotels and from least expensive to the most expensive one in Istanbul Asian side and European side
Thanks for videos.that is enough info for us. I m going in may I need few more information
Thanks for the information. I hope soon that Turkey will reopen and allow all tourist from around the world to come
Thanks for this informative video, Istanbul is quite large and I was struggling to decide where to stay.
Every time I go to Pakistan from Canada (my home) I take Turkish airlines and stay in Istanbul for several days. Having done so many times that I know some areas of Istanbul very well. I like Turkish food and soothing call to prayers, it is a very nice place for me. I even had a brush with an attempted robbery on the seaside park across from Sultan Ahmet. I have stayed at Taksim and Sultan Ahmet. Love it!
I’m glad you had a nice time
The owner the channel shares incorrect information about SultanAhmet district. It is the center of istanbul. All the historical places are located in there. The video shares incorrect information about sultan ahmet in order to misguide tourists to unpopular locations.
Do you know about grand Naki hotel
Well-illustrated map. Thanks.
Very helpful. Someone commented in my fb post told me not to stay in Sultan Ahmed but stay at Taksim ot Kadakoy instead. I look out and come across your detail video. Will cancel my accomodation in Sultan Ahmed now and might move to Taksim :)
Just came back from Istanbul few days ago, I stayed at Sultan Ahmed area and I love it b/c walking distance from attractions sites.
Great informative video.
Good stuff ....thanks for sharing
Thanks very informative. We 3 girls not so young anymore lols are planning to visit Turkey. My preference is to visit religious sites and mainly the places where not much tourists go, to know more about locals.
Many thanks for all the information. It's been very useful to me.🙏🙏

Great Video! Can you recommend a certain hostel in Kadikoy? Or what is the area in Kadikoy you can recommend to stay in?
Thank you for very informative video
Thanks for doing this video
Thanks very much for the video, really helpful. I’m coming to Istanbul in the middle of March. Can I ask, will it be cold then? And importantly: Too cold to sit on the terrace with a beer?
great video! thank you so much
Hi which side is antalya on map, plz guide or make a video thx 👍
Hi. Very informative video. I will be visiting turkey in a couple of weeks, can you suggest a few non touristy places which are extremely beautiful and not very tourist filled.
I can understand your thinking because you are a local and thinks as a local. I live in NYC and I stay away from Times Square, the Empire State building area and all those touristies areas, but if you are a visitor coming for a brief stay, I couldn't tell you or anyone to stay in New Jersey, or the Bronx or Brooklyn because its cheaper. First of all, what are going to do in those areas. Walk through a nice park? You can do that on your hometown. In the case of Istanbul, personally, I have been there so many times, and I just go for a short visit. Of course, I want to be able to walk everywhere, and the area of Sultanahmet or Taksim are the most appealing. Sure, there are places where they would scam you or the food is lousy, but that's part of the beauty to be a bit adventurous and find the right places to eat and to shop. The Grand Bazaar is a tourist trap, but as I said, you can find wonderful merchants with great and unique merchandise. I have relatives in Tarabya which is very close to the Black Sea on the Bosphorus. Yes. Its gorgeous, but if my stay in Istanbul is just for a few days, I want to walk around ancient history. If I'm going to stay in a suburb just because is cheaper, I might as well stay home. Its free and no hazzle. Be adventurous and rub elbows with the colorful tourists from all over.
I ain’t reading all that. I’m happy for you tho or I’m sorry that it happened
@@IstanbulHacks Sorry for what? There is absolutelly nothing to be sorry.
Thank you for an informative video. Where would you recommend I stay if I am coming to do wholesale shopping in Merter?
Thanks for the videos !! What about staying close to the new airport and Belgard area to just chill and enjoy Turkey vibes and maybe visit the nature spots ?? Thanks !!
It’s very far from everything
The best. Part 2.
This video is better than other videos with fancy editing that don't really provide useful information. I am visiting Istanbul soon, and I bookmarked these videos. Is there a hop-on, hop-off tourist bus in this area?
Edit: The big bridge connecting Asia and Europe, is that a nice place to stay? Anything going on there?
Thank you for making these videos. I agree with you in that sultanahmet is expensive and food there is horrible. However, it does have its charms being the old part of town and although its touristy it still has a nice vibe. Even Taksim and istiklal are very touristy. Just my opinion
Ye it does have a charm for a day or 2, and i agree Taksim is very touristy, and is getting worseevery year. I hate that place these days.
@@IstanbulHacks I'm actually visiting Istanbul next month ia. Can't wait to try the kumpir. :)
Also, whats the best way to go to the new istanbul mosque?
@@mrpullafastone It's delicious :) Which mosque? Çamlıca ?

Very informative. Thank you! Any recommendations for nice boutique hotels?
Thank you and super insighting both part 1 and part 2. I am coming to Istanbul for the 5th time but the first time with my parents. I ofted stay in Kadikoy but what would you suggest my parents are mobile and in there early 60s.
I feel taking the ferry over to the tourist it much easier
We're coming from Australia and just booked 7 nights in Kadikoy, it looks amazing and I've spent hours upon hours walking the streets on google maps hahaha :) Sounds like I made the right choice!
What hotel did you stay? We are coming there in a month and I have no idea where to go
@@aminabahrami4159 we were booked at Akin Suites but sadly with travel bans we can't leave Australia, and is likely we won't be able to go until 2022 :(

Nice video and great explanation.
What do you think of
1- Findikli area (Mimar Sinan University area). Is it good there?
2- Zeitenburnu area (near radisson blue)?
Man you videos are very nice and so much informative and simple....can you suggest any good hotel in Kadikoy area, which can cost may be around 500 liras..

Thanks for watching mate
Thanks for that. Great breakdown without extra fluffy talk. Very informative . Its 2024 , wonder if this will hold true now?
Excellent information. What is the transportation facilities to move around if we stay in Karakoy?
Hi,
Ive booked a hotel in atasehir for my family (young kids)
We wanted somewhere a little quieter, but wanted to know best way to travel from here as we will be away from most toursity areas.
Also can't wait for your next videos!
Hey, I think taxi is the best option or maybe using a bus
@@IstanbulHacks thanks for the quick reply, local taxi or is there a app for me to not get ripped off lol

Very helpful video explaining the various areas. My wife and I are visiting for 6 days at the end of May 2023.
We are staying at the Pera Palace Hotel which I think is in an area you recommend. We are saving a tour of Sultanahmet for our last day when we will be joined by another couple from Sydney.
We have arranged a few other private tours with a local guide. One will take us over to the Asian side, one will be an evening tour taking in the views of the Old City by night and another incorporating a cruise on the Bosphorus and it has been suggested we visit the Balat area. Do you think Balat is a great area to visit?
Would love to receive your comments.
Cheers
How did you arrange private tours please
Thank you 🙏🏼
Great video. Really like the blocks on map. is kadikoy still your recommended place to stay?
It depends on how long you're here and what type of holiday you enjoy. I prefer being away from all the tourists so i like kadikoy
Sir plz recommend place to stay in kadikoy
Hello. Thanks for your videos🙏 it’s very informative. Could you please make some comments on Bagcilar, how good is to stay there?
It used to be dodgy, i think its not that bad anymore. I don't really know much about it sorry
Hi just watched both of your videos. Very helpful, in your experience how many days should you use to explore Istanbul both on the European side and Asia side.
Around 5-6
Nice video.
I stayed in a nice little hotel in Osmanbey. Very easy to get to the Metro.
Could you please name the hotel ?
First time visit Istanbul. Restaurants near Blue Mosque / Hagia Sophia are surprising expensive. My first meal was 660 TL. Then i discover food price are very vary depending on location.
Very useful information. Thank you.

So far the best informative vlog on Istanbul. Thanks. Do you recommend Air B&B. Often pictures and reality do not match. Bad reviews galore!! I plan to travel to Istanbul with wife and infant child in Mid-April. Can you recommend a hotel or Air b&B in Karakoy or Kadikoy ($60-$100)
Can you please share your experience if you did end up going there?
In 2017 I had a very bad experience with airbnb choosing an apartment in Fatih. Sofa beds and very bad hygiene. I've stuck to hotels ever since. Going again next week this time at a hotel.
Thank you for this quite informative....coming over christmas to new year.which area would you recommend one to stay where there are cafes, malls, walking around is safe, cafes with views, affordable and easy to access.my travel agent recommends novotel instabul, kent hotel, lightworld business hotel...am a on a budget but still want to have a modern feel of your lovely city..pls give your insight

Good video! Coming to Istanbul for study in the fall. The school is Istanbul kultur university in Ataköy/Bahcelievler . Do you think staying in Taksim area and taking metro every day will work?
I wouldn't stay in Taksim, its not a nice place to live anymore. Maybe Sisli is a better option for you, you can take the metrobus straight to Bahcelievler
Thank u so much u have abundance of knowledge. Can u help me pls can u name 5 no go areas in istanbul both European and asian side? And 5 conservative areas in Istanbul apart from fatih, and uskudar. I need these info for my research. Many thanks
That sounds dodgy :D
Excellent vlog- informative for best stay transportation and shops in the city. But Could you do Izmir and places to hike, bike, and small best eatery's in country sides. Some are not interested in night life or tourism but the beauty of the outdoors, waterfalls, mountains etc.
how we can go from Kadikoy to sultan Ahmet? Do we take the metro? or we have to take a boat every time we want to cross the sea? and would it be expensive to travel every day from and to Kadikoy to taksim or sultan Ahmet?
Thank you. I was thinking of visiting and staying in Kadikoy. Wanted to know the range for renting a studio if you have an idea
@Dra & Noel Travel Hi, can you give me names

Is it an area for the clothes sellers (suits, women dresses etc.)?
Wholesale? There are many in the Laleli area close to sultan ahmet
Great vídeo, would you recommend any place in Antalya for a long tem? Thank u

I want to getvthe hotel around taksim square with the family. Which should be closest to istiklal street. Can you recommend us something?
I will be travelling with my in laws who are very elderly. I know some areas are very hilly and need to do a lot of climbing. Which area we should stay if we don't want do a lot of hills/steps climbing and still quite close to the Metro?
Thanks for information. Which hotel you will recommend for a couple in Galata area? With a good view and nice breakfast.
Quite informative;
does "istiklal street" run through the "sisili" area ? and is istiklal street different from "istiklal road", or are these terms used interchangeably ???? Also; are Istanbul "area maps", for different areas readily available? If so; typically from where ?? Thanks.
Istiklal doesn't run through sisli, sisli is a different area 2 stops away in the metro. I don't think there are many area maps available, maybe you can find one at your hotel.
@@IstanbulHacks thanks for info : ...... and despite this, I have an address of a place where I'm due to go in a few months, which reads:.... "MERKEZ, ISTIKLAL STREET, SISILI"....

Hi, we are travelling to Turkey for the first time, please let me know about the Titanic Business Hotel Orta Kaptaniderya Cd. No37.
I'm a solo backpacker and have 24hr layover in Istanbul before flying to another country. Should I just stay near Taksim for that 1 night or its good to stay in Sultanhamet? I prefer a lively night life area and close to bus station.
After 9pm there is a lockdown so the streets won't be that busy. If its just one day i think you should stay in sultan ahmet, at least you will be able to see the tourist sights easily
Thx Your advice is really helpful!
Question: if I stay in Kadakoy, how accessible is it to get there via train, bus or ferry? For example; if I’m out late in Taxim, is there still transportation? What are my options?
Thanks for watching. You can take metrobus from sisli to kadikoy - its 24 hours. Or you can get the dolmus (shared Taxi/minibus)
The owner the channel shares incorrect information about SultanAhmet district. It is the center of istanbul. All the historical places are located in there. The video shares incorrect information about sultan ahmet in order to misguide tourists to unpopular locations.
@@jameshets6780 Wtf are you on about ? I was born and raised in İstanbul and let me tell you that I went to Sultan Ahmet only about 3-4 times. Especially nowadays the district is full of arab tourists making it less appealing. And I don't think I have to tell you that not "all" of the historical places are there, not at all. Plus how could you possibly suggest Kadıköy is "unpopular" ? It is just not popular amongs the tourists but I can assure you that it is just as popular as Sultan Ahmet if not prefered more by locals. You clearly have no idea about the whole city and it's districts.
@@triggered8874 Lets list all the historical places both in sultanahmet and kadikoy. You must be an alien brought to istanbul. People come to see historical locations instead of an ordinary neighborhood in Kadikoy. Simply list all popular places in Kadikoy? There is none if you compare to Sultanahmet. Prove me wrong by listing what to see in Kadikoy?
@@jameshets6780 What you have written and my response to it has nothing to do with "which place has more historical place" comparison of yours. It is not the "center" of Istanbul. Yes it has some beautiful destinations but this doesn't necessarily make it the center of the city. Plus not every tourist is traveling just to see the old structures. People want to see the local life around the city. The video did not "misguide" anyone but you apparently. And stop trying to preach me about my own city please, thank you.
can you share the Google My Maps you made for this video (with all the areas)? thanks!
what about staying in laleli near vezneciler metro station???
