“AFTER a dream”:----Singers sing this beautifully moving melody almost as if it were a rhapsody: violinists, accompanied by piano, convey the dream in all its felt delight, BUT, who actually conveys the real meaning of this song? For me this organ arrangement and this deeply heartfelt recording of the remembered dream convey, in their unique way, much more: they give voice to the sombre awakening, to the reality and its heavy disappointment: it was only a dream… I think the organ here truly and convincingly melds both the experienced joy of the dream AND the presiding pain of its loss. Wonderful!
